Ellen Buckman
Ellen E. Buckman, 79, of Evansville, died of complications of congestive heart failure Wed-nesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Katherine Underwood of Moore Haven, Fla.; two granddaughters, Tami Tenbarge and Michelle Moore; and five great-grandchildren.
Her husband, William, died in 1989.
There will be a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. today at Pierre Funeral Home, the Rev. Jack Durchholz officiating.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Lucille Whitfield
Lucille Whitfield, 86, formerly of Evansville, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Leisure Years Retirement Center in Owensboro, Ky.
She had worked at Sunbeam, Servel Inc., Crown Pottery, Briggs and at Northrop Defense Plant in Hawthorne, Calif.
She had also worked for Chrysler Corp. here in Evansville and later transferred to the St. Louis plant. She retired in 1981.
She attended East Side Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Marilyn D. Whalen of Evansville and Joan Fox of Troy, Mo.; a son, Jim of Victorville, Calif.; three sisters, Vi Crenshaw of Newburgh, Madge Rhodes of Morganfield, Ky., and Betty Wood of Henderson, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be private, the Rev. Robert E. Cox Sr. officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.
There will be no visitation at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel.
Ruth Steinkamp
HUNTINGBURG — Ruth Steinkamp, 91, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Northwood Good Samaritan Center.
She and her late husband, Hugo Sr., had owned and operated Steinkamp Warehouse Co. He preceded her in death in 1970.
She was a member of Augustana United Church of Christ in Holland.
Surviving are a son, Hugo Jr. of Huntingburg; a sister, Mary Kempher of Bella Vista, Ark.; a brother, Charles Enlow of Indianapolis; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. EST Monday at Nass and Son Funeral Home, with burial in Fairmount cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Augustana United Church of Christ or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Virginia Foust
PETERSBURG — Virginia Foust, 86, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Petersburg Health Care.
She was a member of White River Chapel United Methodist Church and the Ladies Bible Class.
Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Delbert; a daughter, Connie Foust of Augusta, Ga.; two sons, Larry and Lowell, both of Petersburg; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Harris Funeral Home, with burial in White River Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery in Bowman.

Joshua Beckman
JASPER — Joshua Paul Beckman, 22, died of complications of muscular dystrophy Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
He was a 1997 graduate of Jasper High School and a May 2000 graduate of Vincennes University Jasper Campus, where he earned his associate’s degree.
Surviving are his parents, Gary and Mary Beckman of Jasper; two sisters, Jenna and Lacy Beckman, both at home; and his grandparents, Cornell and Doris Kemper.
Services will be at 11 a.m. EST Tuesday at Precious Blood Catholic Church, with entombment in Fairview cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a rosary service at 5 p.m., at Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home Downtown Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or a favorite charity.
Denise Kelly
JASPER — Denise Kelly, 66, died of a heart attack Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
Surviving are her husband, James; four daughters, Maria Kelly of Jasper, Linda Painter of Lawrenceville, Ill., and Rebecca Kelly and Veronica Moore, both of Arkansas; three sons, Chris of Lawrenceville, Jason of Jasper and Jeremy of Arkansas; four sisters, Margie Acree of Indianapolis, Mildred McAllister of Pinkstaff, Ill., Donna Rogers of Louisiana and Cynthia Marley; four brothers, Steve Gosnell of Arkansas, Michael Gosnell of Springfield, Ill., Lloyd Gosnell of Washington and George Gosnell; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Clifford.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, burial in Larenceville City cemetery.

George Price
DALE — George Price, 72, died of complications of pneumonia Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at his home.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving are his wife, Sue (Peck); three daughters, Cori Hingst and Diana Simmons, both of Alma, Ark., and Suzi Price of Russellville, Ark.; five stepdaughters, Amanda Gottberg of Evansville, Patricia and Terree Gottberg, both of Houston, and Karen Apgaw and Sherri Tompkins, both of Porter, Texas; a son, Scott of Hillsboro, Ore.; two sisters, Mary Arnold of Columbia, N.J., and Joyce Lowney of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two brothers, Richard of Delray Beach, Fla., and Dave of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
The body will be cremated, with burial pending in Garden of Memory cemetery in Gentryville.
There will be no services or visitation at Fuller Funeral Home Dale Chapel.
Dixie Green
BOONVILLE — Dixie Green, 92, formerly of Evansville, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Baker’s Rest Haven.
She retired from General Dynamics Corp. in San Diego.
She attended Washington Avenue Baptist Church in Evansville.
Surviving are two daughters, Joanna Carter of Boonville and Evelyn Gale Shepherd of Cumberland, Ky.; three sons, Charles E. West of New Port Richey, Fla., Robert E. West of Ridgedale, Mo., and Larry D. West of Sebree, Ky.; 36 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Almon Oren; a daughter, Connie Sue Green; and two sons, Norman Ray West and Darrel Wayne Green.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel, with burial in Maple Grove cemetery.

Alma Peters
Alma Peters, 77, of Evansville, died of respiratory failure Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital.
She was a charter member of the Evansville General Baptist Church, a member of the Ladies Missionary Society and Woodmens Circle Violet Grove 23, past president of the Carpenter School PTA and founder of their school lunch program.
Surviving are a daughter, Sue Darr of Evansville; two sister, Lucille Brinkley and Dorothy Rodgers, both of Evansville; two brothers, Leonard and Harold Malicoat, both of Evansville; two grandchildren, Angela Vaughn and Darren Desmon Stogsdill; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Tola D., in 1992 and her daughter, Karan Peters, in 1963.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Robert A. Nall officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.

Tony Meador
Tony Meador, 56, of Birmingham, Ala., father of Eric Meador of Evansville, died of.cardiac arrest Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham.
He was a member of Cross Bridge Church of Christ in Pelham, Ala.
Also surviving are his wife, Julie; a daughter, Abby Elizabeth Meador; a sister, Sheila Weinberg of Palm Springs, Calif.; two grandchildren, Preston and Peyton Meador; and a niece.
Services will be at 1 p.m. 275Wednesday at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, the Rev. Garry Brantley officiating, with burial in Ridout’s Southern Heritage cemetery.

Marie Kempf
Marie A. Kempf, 82, of Evansville, 82, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at her home.
She retired after 34 years with Whirlpool Corp.
She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the St. Rita Ladies Auxiliary and Knights of St. John.
Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Leo; a daughter, Nellie Daugherty of Evansville; two sisters, Jean Schmidt of Henderson, Ky., and Juanita Hicks; a brother, Joe Becker of Evansville; two grandchildren, Ashley Hodges and Alyx Yackle; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 9:45 a.m. Thursday at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, continuing at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with burial in St. Joseph cemetery.
