John Butler
John Butler, 67, formerly of Evansville, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at his home in Eddyville, Ky., under hospice care.
He owned John Butler Construction Co. in Evansville from 1961 to 1979.
He was a member of Eddyville First Baptist Church, Joppa Masonic Lodge 167 and Eastern Star Starlight Chapter 471, both in Eddyville, and served as Master of Parkersville Masonic Lodge 484 in Lamasco, Ky.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Dorothy Nell (Kitchens); a daughter, Jo Ellen Stinnett of Eddyville; a sister, Bobbie Patterson of Monroe, Mich.; a brother, Albert of Westland, Mich.; and three grandchildren, Robby Maxwell and Josh and Marty Stinnett.
He was preceded in death by a son, John “Butch” Jr.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville, the Revs. Gates Bowman and Jerrell White officiating, with burial in Pleasant Hill cemetery in Lyon County.
Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Eddyville First Baptist Church Building Fund or to Lourdes Hospice of Paducah, Ky.
Norbert Voegerl
HUNTINGBURG, Ind. — Norbert C. Voegerl, 65, died Monday, April 17, 2000, at Deaconess St. Joseph Hospital of congestive heart failure.
He retired from Jasper Laminates.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Jasper Moose 1175, Huntingburg Eagles 3335 and American Legion Post 221.
Surviving are four daughters, Becky Morton and Tracy Burger, both of Jasper and Shawn Kemper and Dawn Gudorf, both of Huntingburg; two sons, Mike of Evansville and Todd of Jasper; two sisters, Viola Berg of Jasper and Rosie Altmeyer of Huntingburg; a brother, Leroy of St. Anthony; three half brothers, Othmar Voegerl of Huntingburg and Lawrence Voegerl and Oscar Weber, both of Jasper; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Fuller Funeral Home, with a rosary at 5 p.m. and a Moose memorial at 7 p.m.
Floyd Chamness
PETERSBURG, Ind. — Floyd L. Chamness, 87, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at Select Hospital in Evansville. He worked at Whirlpool and was a World War II Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Linda Hall of Petersburg; two grandchildren, Steven Hall and Renee Myers; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with burial in Walnut Hill cemetery in Petersburg.

Cuba Durham
VINCENNES, Ind. — Cuba E. Durham, 84, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Surviving are a daughter, Beverly Chapman of Vincennes; a sister, Kathleen Rodenhause of Frisco; a brother, Ralph Davis; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Her husband, Edward, died in 1993.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with burial in Memorial Park cemetery.

Infant Marcus Richardt
TELL CITY, Ind. — Marcus Alexander Richardt, 3-day-old son of Anthony and Misty Richardt of Hawesville, Ky., died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville. He was premature.
Also surviving are two brothers, Jeffrey and Jonathan, both at home; grandparents, Ambrose and Joyce Richardt, Debra Parker and Michael Kieser; and great-grandparents.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Greenwood cemetery in Tell City. There will be no visitation at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
Alma Witsman
PLAINSVILLE, Ind. — Alma Pearl Witsman, 95, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at Eastgate Manor Nursing Home.
She was a member of Plainville Christian Church, Royal Neighbors, and Elnora Eastern Star.
Surviving are two sons, Maurice L. of Plainville and James W. of Washington; a sister, Mary Pfaff of Bloomington; a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Gill Funeral Home, with burial in Plainville cemetery.

Madeleine Laros
SOMERVILLE, Ind. — Madeleine “Tootie” Laros, 69, formerly of Oakland City, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.
She worked for Mid-States Rubber in Princeton as a press operator.
She was a member of the Catholic Church.
Surviving are five daughters, Carolyn Green of Evansville, Connie Moore of Oakland City, Cricket Knowles of Owensville, Kim Collins of Princeton and Kelley Griffin of Somerville; a son, Jack of South Bend; a sister, Velma McCuiston of South Bend; two brothers, Elmer Bettag of New Boston, Texas, and John Bettag of Evansville; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home, with burial in St. Joseph cemetery in Evansville.

Salem Burdin
GRANDVIEW, Ind. — Salem R. Burdin, 66, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at his home of cancer.
He worked at Becker’s Auto in Louisville, Ky., as a mechanic.
He was a Korean War Army veteran and a member of the Rockport American Legion.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Patricia (Crook); two daughters, Jamie Sandage of Grandview and Cecilia Hughes of Palmyra; two sons, Terry “Pirtle” of Rockport and Scott Ray of Palmyra; three brothers, Pirtle Jr. of Zephyr Hills, Fla., Sheldon F. of Sellersburg and Donald of Jeffersonville; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bobbie Scales.
Funeral services will be private at Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Spencer County Hospice.
Oscar Godeke
Oscar J. “Dick” Godeke, 90, of Evansville, died Friday, April 21, 2000, at his home.
He retired from Evansville Veneer Co. in 1975.
Surviving are his wife, Alma B.; two sons, Allen of Nevada City, Calif., and David of Evansville; four grandchildren, Eric, Chad and Nathan Godeke and Amy Paddock; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Park Lawn Mausoleum Chapel, the Rev. Gary M. Schaar officiating, with entombment in the mausoleum.

Gilbert Temple
Gilbert J. Temple, 94, of Evansville, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Regina Continuing Care Center.
He retired in 1970 from Old National Bank after 50 years.
He was a life member of St. Benedict Cathedral.
Surviving are three sisters, Mary Ann Goatley of Louisville, Ky., Berdie Millay of Evansville and Rose Lee Cox of Newburgh; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, continuing at 9 a.m. at St. Benedict Cathedral, the Rev. Ted Tempel officiating, with burial in St. Joseph cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a memorial service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Felix Todd
Felix Todd, 66, of Evansville, died Friday, April 21, 2000, at St. Mary’s Health Care Services/Welborn Campus of an aneurysm.
He retired from Zenith as a foreman after 30 years and then retired from SIGECO Warrick Power Plant after 10 years in security.
He attended Heritage Baptist Church for 40 years and was a member of the Independent Order of Foresters.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Morell of Evansville and Michele Schuh of Hollywood, Fla.; two sons, Curt and Marty, both of Evansville; his stepmother, Eula Todd of Greenville, Ky.; two sisters, Ruth Hinton and Kathy Buxton; nine brothers, Jim, Ben, Dan, Fred, Taylor, Tom, Carl, Paul and Mack; nine grandchildren, Kenny Ray, Nichole, Jeffrey, Matthew, Greg, Brittney, Emerald and Tuesday; and nieces and nephews.
His wife of 43 years, Shirley (Lee), died in 1999.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Maurice Melton officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.
