Helen Franke
Helen B. Franke, 95, of Evansville, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Woodlands Convalescent Center.
She retired from the Vanderburgh County election office and had worked at the Knight Township trustees office.
She was active in Republican politics and was a Sagamore of the Wabash.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing and tole painting.
Surviving are three sons, John R., Thomas J. and Stephen R., all of Evansville; seven grandchildren, Gregory, Scott, Laura, Adam and Kevin Franke, Susan Edwards and Diane Beening; and six great-grandchildren.
Her husband, John G., died in 1990.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, Monsignor Maurilius E. Bilskie officiating, with burial in St. Joseph cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Paul Neal
Paul Hutchings Neal, 76, formerly of Evansville, died Friday, April 21, 2000, in Bakersfield, Calif., from Alzheimer’s disease.
He retired in 1984 after 30 years with the Kern County Fire Department in California.
He attended Stanley Hall Elementary and Bosse High School. He was a World War II Army veteran and a Mason.
Surviving are a son, Steven Paul of Bakersfield; a sister, Hildadean Bushy of Red Bluff, Calif.; a brother Samuel R. Jr. of Red Bluff; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. CDT Wednesday at Hillcrest Mortuary in Bakersfield, with burial in Hillcrest cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Cole Stoll
LOOGOOTEE, Ind. — Cole Dillan Stoll, 11-month-old son of Greg and Valarie Stoll of Loogootee, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. He had been ill from birth.
He was a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church.
Also surviving are grandparents, Darrell and Sue Stoll and Eddie and Judy Graber; and great-grandparents.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Mennonite Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time at the church. Poindexter-Hall & McClure Funeral Home in Odon is handling the arrangements.
Dorothy Fleck
JASPER, Ind. — Dorothy J. Fleck, 73, died Saturday, April, 22, 2000, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center from an aneurysm.
She was a volunteer for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, 4-H Clubs, Red Cross Blood Bank and Jasper High School Choir and Band Booster clubs.
She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church and the Ladies Sodality, Daughters of Isabella and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary in Jasper.
Surviving are her husband, Robert; two daughters, Mary Beth Gibson of Seymour and Anne Therese Poking of Versailles; three sons, Terry and Bill, both of Indianapolis, and Randy of St. Anthony; five sisters, Helen Meyers of Jasper, Sister Mary Ann Lechner of Indianapolis, Elizabeth Bormann of Dennison, Ill., Sister Rita Lechner of Lewisport, Ky., and Eileen Lauka of Temecula, Calif.; a brother, Robert “Boob” Lechner of Jasper; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Precious Blood Catholic Church, with burial in Fairview cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today, with a rosary at 3 p.m., at Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel, with a VFW memorial service at 7 p.m.

Emma Coleman
BOONVILLE, Ind. — Emma Faye Coleman, 67, died Saturday, April 22, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville of pancreatitis.
She worked for Warrick Publishing at The Boonville Standard.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Ruth Bible Sunday school class and Cheerful Neighbors home economics club.
Surviving are a brother, George Speicher of Boonville; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Charles C., died in 1994.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel, with burial in Freedom cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Cecelia Keown
TELL CITY, Ind. — Cecelia M. Keown, 81, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at the home of her daughter, Rosemary Hinton in Tell City.
She and her late husband, Marquis L. “Monk, ” who died in 1987, had owned and operated the Alpine in Tell City and in 1962 opened Monk’s Bar & Grill in Cannelton.
She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella Nativity Circle 170 and the American Legion Post 213 Ladies Auxiliary.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Lisa, Jim “Himi” and Brian Hinton and Tai, Jacob and Patrick Keown; and five great-grandchildren.
A son, Marquis Lee Jr., died in 1989.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a memorial service at 6:30 p.m., and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel.

Bernice Davis
WASHINGTON, Ind. — Bernice M. Davis, 74, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville from complications after open heart surgery.
She had worked in the laundry department at the Daviess County Hospital.
She was a member of Mount Gilead Church, Eastern Star and Moose and Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are three daughters, Rita Wood of Seymour, Linda Hudson of Washington and Vicki Scott of Glendale; a sister, Barbara English of Loogootee; two brothers, Forrest Bateman of Mattoon, Ill., and Robert N. Bateman of Washington; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Her husband, Junior D., died in 1977.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary, with burial in Mount Gilead cemetery.

E. Hoyt Stuckey
MONROE CITY, Ind. — E. Hoyt Stuckey, 81, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at his home.
He had been a teacher in the South Knox School Corp. and the principal at Freelandville, Castle, Unionville and Decker schools.
He raised polled hereford cattle.
He was a member, taught Sunday school and served on several boards at the Monroe City United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Dorothy; three sons, Ken of Forest, Va., Curt of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Brent of Vincennes; a sister, Delma Hartsaw of Evansville; a brother, Ozro of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Monroe City United Methodist Church, with burial in Bethel cemetery.

Noble Troutman
Noble L. Troutman, 92, of Evansville, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital.
He retired from Ball Brothers Mold

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Della; two stepdaughters, Helen N. Pippin of El Centro, Calif., Delene Rains of Hartsville, Tenn.; three stepsons, the Rev. Robert Lee Yonts of Glendale, Ill., Eugene F. Yonts of Evansville and the Rev. Jack E. Yonts of Elgin, Ill.; 15 step grandchildren; 29 step great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Browning Funeral Home, the Rev. Mark Brewer officiating. Services also will be at 2 p.m. EST Tuesday at Gardenview Funeral Home in Muncie, Ind., the Rev. Richard Martin officiating, with burial in Gardenview cemetery in Muncie.

Joseph Foster
Joseph C. Foster, 57, of Evansville, died Friday, March 3, 2000, at John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis of cancer.
He formerly worked at Bootz Plumbing and Fixtures and retired in 1999 from Whirlpool.
He was an Air Force veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda (Kemp); a daughter, Tina Blankenship of Newburgh; two sons, Larry and Thomas, both of Evansville; a sister, Lesa Roby of Evansville; a brother, John of Owensboro, Ky.; and seven grandchildren, Morgan, Logan, Corey, Courtney, Tyler, Lindsey and Tiana.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, the Rev. Brad Henson officiating, with burial in Locust Hill cemetery.
