Infant Faith Dant
LOOGOOTEE, Ind. — Faith Ann Dant, daughter of Brian A. and Tricia A. (Werner) Dant, died shortly after birth Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Also surviving are a sister, Kayla Dant at home; a brother, Ryan, at home; grandparents, John and Nancy (Arvin) Dant and Ed and Rosie (Lampert) Werner; and great-grandparents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Martin Catholic Church in Whitfield, Ind., with burial in the church cemetery.
There will be no visitation at Titzer Funeral Home in Loogootee.
Garnett McCoy
VINCENNES, Ind. — Garnett A. McCoy, 90, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
She retired from the Good Samaritan Home as a dietitian.
She was a member of the Church of Christ of Monroe City.
Surviving are two daughters, Carole Miles of Laurel, Md., and Betty Doss of Bridgeport, Ill., ; a son, Larry W. of Monroe City; a half sister, Maryan Fraser of Bremerton, Wash.; a half brother, Marshall Stuckey of Texas; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Walter S., died in 1982.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with burial in McCoy cemetery near Monroe City.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Elizabeth Carpenter
MOUNT VERNON, Ind. — Elizabeth H. Carpenter, 82, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
She taught school in the Mount Vernon school district for 26 years, was a former 4-H leader and was a member of the Retired Posey County Teacher’s Association.
She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Eastern Star and Coterie Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Charlotte Eagley of Salamonca, Spain; a son, Charles M. of Mount Vernon; a granddaughter, Jane E. Eagley; and nieces and a nephew.
Her husband, Joseph H. “Jack, ” died in 1973.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity United Church of Christ, with burial in Bellefontaine cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Norvell Funeral Home.

Mabel Hall
LOOGOOTEE, Ind. — Mabel A. Hall, 80, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Daviess Community Hospital in Washington, Ind.
She had worked at Loogootee Textile.
She was a member of Trinity Gospel Tabernacle Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Janice Cosslin of Jasper; three sons, Kenneth R. of Decatur, Ill., Donald E. of Loogootee and Terry L. of Jasper; a sister, Joyce Cosslin of Manchester, Tenn.; a brother, Larry Taylor of Loogootee; 13 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Ollie C., died in 1998.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Titzer Funeral Home, with burial in Goodwill cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Leonard Cassidy
DALE, Ind. — Leonard E. Cassidy, 88, died Monday, April 24, 2000, at Scenic Hills Nursing Center in Ferdinand.
He retired in 1975 from Tell City Chair Co.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society.
Surviving are his wife, Rosalinda (Gogel); five daughters, Martha Watts of Indianapolis, Barbara Johnson of Tell City, Mary Hester of Newburgh, Carol Griepenstroh of Gentryville and Brenda Hochmeister of Fort Myers, Fla.; three sons, William “Bill” of Evansville, John of Tell City and Daniel of Dale; five sisters, Alma Merrifield, Catherine Stocker, Susan Maier and Ruth Gamboe, all of Louisville, Ky., and Mary Pyle of Seymour; a brother, Robert of Tell City; 20 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fuller Funeral Home and Crematory Dale Chapel, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Nellie Beamon
VINCENNES, Ind. — Nellie Catt Beamon, 88, died Monday, April 24, 2000, at Willow Manor.
She was Catholic.
Surviving are two daughters, Sally York of Winter Haven, Fla., and Patty Miller of Cincinnati; a son, William of Evansville; a sister, Orpha Cary of Vincennes; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Claude, died in 1994 and a daughter, Ella Mae Doll, died in 1984.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home, with burial in Memorial Park cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

James Ewing
James E. Ewing, 71, of Evansville, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital of cancer.
He retired from Lensing
Wholesale Co. in 1991, had recently appeared in several television commercials and he had been the manager of the glass division of Red Spot Paint Co.
He was a Navy veteran and soloist with the Navy Choir.
He was a 1947 graduate of Central High School and had attended Evansville College.
He was a 47-year member, sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and served on the council and committees at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. He drove for Meals on Wheels.
He was a member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America and sang with the Journeymen Quartet and the 1961 Cardinal District Champions, the Funtastic Four.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Kathleen; two sons, Tim of New York, and Greg of Indianapolis; three sisters, Marie Robertson of Elberfeld, Ind., Travis Ewing of Buena Park, Calif., and Rosemary Ewing of Evansville; a brother, Roy of Tyrone, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Jay Gregory and Sarah Caitlin Ewing.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, the Rev. Mitchell D. Phillips officiating, with burial pending.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel and from 10 a.m. to service time at the church.

Mary Tighe
Mary K. Tighe, 80, of Evansville, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at her home. She had a heart condition.
During World War II, she worked at the Evansville Shipyards.
She sang in the Germania Maennerchor Damen Chor and volunteered in many organizations, including the Bucket Brigade Children’s Tutoring Program.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Rita Auxiliary and the Germania Maennerchor Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen Griese of Evansville; three sons, Thomas of Evansville, Richard of Enon, Ohio, and Daniel of Lakewood, Colo.; a brother, James J. Oliver of Evansville; nine grandchildren, Mollie Rasmussen, Blanche Klein, Daniel, James and Benjamin Griese, Gail and Michael Tighe and Chip and Tami Eenhuis; and three great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Raphael, died in 1995.
Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ziemer Funeral Home West Chapel, continuing at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Rev. Eugene Dewig officiating, with entombment in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with a memorial service at 6 p.m.

Katherine Whitehouse
Katherine Elizabeth (Gardner) Whitehouse, 98, of Evansville, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Highland Pointe Healthcare.
She had been a private duty nurse’s aide in hospitals and homes.
She was a member of the Owls Club and a 35-year member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Surviving are three grandchildren, Janet Knight and Bill and Bob Whitehouse; four great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law who cared for her, Helen Whitehouse of Evansville; and nieces and nephews, including Mary Toon of Evansville, who cared for her.
Her husband, A. Dewey, died in 1967, and a stepson, William Whitehouse, died in 1999.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Ted Temple officiating, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Infant Parker Naylor
Parker Thomas Naylor, 9-month-old son of Peter L. Naylor and Larkan Maria Nall of Evansville, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Ky. The cause of death is pending autopsy results.
Also surviving are a sister, Abbie Drew Naylor of Evansville; grandparents, Jimmy and Bonnie Nall and Gordon and Judy Naylor; great-grandparents; and a great-great-grandmother.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, the Rev. Robert A. Nall officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.
