Emmett Gray
Emmett Garland Gray, 94, of Evansville, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at St. Mary’s Health Care Services/Welborn Campus. He worked at Servel Inc. for 15 years and retired from the Evansville Airport Authority and in 1982 from the Tri-State Aero. He was a 50-year member of the Parkerville Masonic Lodge in Lamasco, Ky. Surviving are his wife, Madie B.; a daughter, Emma Jean Hogan of Evansville; a son, Charles L. “Chuck” of Fort Myers, Fla.; four sisters, Lavern Williamson of Evansville, Christine Williamson of Trent County, Ky., Barbara Lindsey of Grand Rivers, Ky., and Lillie Cole of Indiana; three brothers, Robert Lee and Gary, both of Lamasco, and James of Julien, Ky.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Myrtle Orange, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Simpson Meyer Funeral Home, the Rev. Clifford Herring officiating, with entombment in Locust Hill Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with Masonic servies at 7 p.m.

Anna Hendricks
CYNTHIANA — Anna Jean Hendricks, 78, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at her home.
She was a member of Cynthiana Methodist Church, Eastern Star and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Floyd H.; four daughters, Mary Ann Sollman of Bloomington, Alice Kincheloe of Poseyville, Bonnie Hendricks of Cynthiana and Glenda Houchins of Evansville; a son, David of Cynthiana; a sister, Ruth Nesbit of Cynthiana; eight grandchildren, Melanie Lynville, David Sollman, Kelly Kincheloe, Tina Bruce, Jared and Jason Gish, Amy Rogers and Kimberly Gambrel; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Liberty cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Werry Funeral Home Cynthiana Chapel.

Anna Johnson
TELL CITY — Anna Matilda “Til” (Schlamersdorf) Johnson, 92, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Oakwood Health Campus.
She was a bookkeeper for Mulzer Crushed Stone.
She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, Eastern Star, American Legion Post 213 Ladies Auxiliary, Tell City Historical Society and the Sip and Stitch Club.
Surviving are nieces and nephews. Her husband of 41 years, John Phillip “J.P..” died in 1984.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with burial in Greenwood cemetery.

Lois Littrell
LOOGOOTEE — Lois E. Littrell, 70, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at her home of cancer.
She retired from the production line at Kimbell Electronics.
She was a member of Odon Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are four daughters, Donna Cahill of Mitchell, Dana Williams of Loogootee, Darla Darling of Columbus, Ohio, and Debra Gress of Ireland, Ind.; a son, Deri Littrell of Loogootee; her stepmother, Molene Snow of Rosiclare, Ill.; a brother, Alfred Snow of California; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Winfred “Joe” Littrell, died in 1973.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Odon Church of the Nazarene, with burial in Goodwill cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Lee Funeral Home and from noon to service time at the church.
Judith Duncan
BOONVILLE — Judith A. Duncan, 58, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at St. Mary’s Warrick of cancer.She had been a room mother and was a member of Newburgh Eastern Star and the Demolay Mother’s Club. Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Jerry; a daughter, Shannon of Nashville, Tenn.; a son, Dennis of Heilman, Ind.; a granddaughter, Whitley Duncan; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, the Rev. Kevin Maxey officiating, with burial in Rose Hill cemetery in Newburgh.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Lillie Zenthofer
MOUNT VERNON — Lillie Frances Zenthofer, 90, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at Pinehaven Nursing Home in Evansville. She had been a sewing machine operator at the clothing factory in Mount Vernon.
She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.
Surviving are a grandson, Rick Zenthofer; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Her husband, Louis, died in 1970 and a son, Louis Jr., died in 1990.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Boone Funeral Home Mount Vernon Chapel, the Rev. Michael Madden officiating, with burial in St. Matthew’s cemetery.

Roy McCormick
OAKLAND CITY — Roy D. McCormick, 71, of Princeton, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton of cancer.
He retired after 35 years as a boilermaker. He was a World War II Army veteran and member of the Princeton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1147.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Marlene (Hedrick); four daughters, Sandra L. Phillips of Oakland City, Carolyn K. Craig of Montvale, Va., Marilyn Dale Benson of Owensville and Rhonda Elaine Robling of Spurgeon; a son, Michael L. of Princeton; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A son, Patrick, died in 1988.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, with burial in Blackfoot cemetery in Coe, with military rites.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Dorothy Jewell
PRINCETON — Dorothy E. Jewell, 80, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City.
She was a medical assistant for Dr. Brink Sr. for 28 years.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, 50-year member of Golden Fleece Chapter 176, Eastern Star and representative of the state of Montana in 1994, appointed grand helper district 14 order of the Rainbow Girls in Indiana, member of the Daughter of the Nile and Gibson General Hospital Pink Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are two brothers, John Stone of Oakland City and Bob Stone of Michigan City; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd and an infant daughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home, with burial in Maple Hill cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

John Miller
John E. “Butch” Miller, 86, of Evansville, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, at his home.
He was a meat cutter and had worked at A&P; Food Store, Harmony Way Market and Saveway Market before retiring. He also worked at Republic Aviation in the 1940s.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He and his wife celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Friday.
Surviving are his wife, Veronica “Fronie” (Will); five daughters, Pat Novack of Bellevue, Wash., Mary Kay “Katie” Townsend and Sister Jennifer Miller OSB, both of Evansville, Joy DiLembo of Fort Myers Beach, Fla., and Jan Adler of St. James, Ind.; two sons, Robert M. of Clarksville, Tenn., and Daniel W. of Evansville; three sisters, Leona Ohl of Evansville, Rita Hoeft of St. Louis and Beatrice Hammerstein of San Antonio; 25 grandchildren; and 23 greatgrandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church, the Rev. Eugene Dewig officiating, with private burial at a later date.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with a memorial service at 7 p.m., and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home.

Gerald Hunter
Gerald Edwin Hunter, 81, of Evansville, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at Brentwood Convalescent Center.
He operated a 350-acre farm with his father and his grandfather, was active in the Farm Bureau and was president of the New Harmony Township Farm Bureau for three years.
He was a 1937 graduate of New Harmony High School and a 1938 graduate of Lockyear Business College in Evansville.
He was a member of the Posey County 4-H Fair board, and served on the financial committee of Johnson United Methodist Church in New Harmony.
In Fort Myers, Fla., he was past president of Edison Kiwanis and won the Ruby Award for service and received the Captain Bill’s Award. He served on the blood bank committee for Lee Memorial Hospital for 10 years, was a member of the Real Estate Exchangors and was Exchangor of the Year in 1987. He had worked for the Forestry Resources in Florida for two years.
He enjoyed square dancing, golfing, boating and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Mary John Hunter; two daughters, Jean Kay Lasher of Evansville and Sue Ellen Kaetzel of Santa Rosa, Calif.; four grandchildren, Laura Lasher Bobeck, Gregory Hunter Lasher, Darlene Kaetzel Thomas and Rhonda Kaetzel Montgomery; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Werry Funeral Home Poseyville Chapel, the Rev. George Purnell officiating, with burial in Poseyville cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
Leona Johnson
Leona Johnson, 85, of Newburgh, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, at her home.
She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ on West Michigan Street.
Surviving are a sister, Verna Huey of Newburgh; and nieces and nephews, including Linda Huey, who cared for her.
Her husband of 48 years, Oliver, died in 1984.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, the Rev. Louis H. Dorsch officiating, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum.
