William Davis
PRINCETON — William L. Davis, 79, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.
He retired as custodian for the North Gibson School Corp.
He was an Army veteran and member of the American Legion Post 25.
Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn Sue Davis of Fort Worth; five sons, William C. of Saginaw, Texas, John E., Buddy Jr. and Mark A., all of Fort Worth, and Ronnie J. of Tampa, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Elizabeth, Chad and Steve Davis, Cody Alvarado and Stephanie Fry; and two great-grandchildren.
His wife, Edna H., preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Colvin Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery.

Renus Leinenbach
FERDINAND — Renus A. “Amos” Leinenbach, 81, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at Huntingburg Convalscent Center.
He was a farmer and had driven a school bus.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann; two daughters, Kaye Schlachter and Valery Kessens, both of Ferdinand; a stepdaughter, Judy Voegerl of Bretzville; a son, Fred of Loogootee; three stepsons, Mark, Gary and Eric Rahman, all of Ferdinand; a sister, Ardella Lohmeier of Ferdinand; a brother, Stanley of Ferdinand; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
His wife, Irma Gogel and a son, Bruce, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Becher Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
Gilbert Pounds
ROCKPORT — Gilbert L. “Gibby” Pounds, 62, of Owensboro, Ky., died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at Owensboro Mercy Health System of cardio pulmonary arrest.
He coached Pop Warner Football, was an American League Commissioner, coached Daviess County Girls Softball League, and was president and coached Kentucky Wesleyan College Girls Softball.
He was a member of Larkin Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce D.; a daughter, Connie Pounds-Taylor of Owensboro; two sons, Mike of Rough River, Ky., and Mark of Owensboro; a sister, Sue Fay of Waverly, Ind.; a brother, Connie Pounds of Rockport; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Hill cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Anna Conley
WASHINGTON — Anna M. Conley, 80, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at Daviess Community Hospital.
He worked for the Armour Co. for 15 years.
He was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church.
Surviving are a sister, Betty James of Washington; four brothers, William “Bill, ” Donald, Frank and Charles, all of Washington.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ed Lee Mortuary, with burial in St. John’s cemetery.

Wayne Franchville
BRISTOW — Wayne Franchville, 44, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, from an automobile accident on Indiana 145 north of Indiana 37.
He worked at DMI Furniture in Ferdinand.
Surviving are a daughter, Brandy Aders of Bristow; a stepdaughter, Melissa Aders of Bristow; four sisters, Patsy Casper and Millie Franchville, both of Jasper, and Sue Schipp and Carol Rahman, both of Ferdinand; three brothers, Bud of Cannelton, Randy of Bristow and Larry Joe of Huffman; his mother, Vivian Franchville of Dale; nieces and nephews; and his fiancee, Bonnie Aders of Bristow.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Isidore Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Clayton Lamkin
BRISTOW — Clayton Wayne Lamkin, 38, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, from an automobile accident on Indiana 145 north of Indiana 37.
He worked at Wanninger Sawmill in Fulda.
Surviving are a daughter, Holly Lamkin of Eckerty; his mother, Carol Jean Lamkin of Bristow; his grandmother, Mary Lamkin of Dale; a sister, Brenda Leistner of Lincoln City; a brother, Ricky Lee Lamkin of Ferdinand; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Isidore Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Julia Fruth
VINCENNES — Julia E. Fruth, 87, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at Crestview Nursing Home of heart failure.
She had worked at Hicks Office Supply and The Main Thing.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ.
Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Sturgeon of Vincennes; a son, Larry Miller of Vincennes; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Two husbands preceded her in death, Raymond Miller, in 1961, and Orville Fruth, in 1994.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with burial in Memorial Park Cemtery.

Agnes Laugel
Agnes Schmitt Laugel, 95, of Evansville, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, at Holiday Health Care of cancer.
She had worked for the Kingsbury & Hollander Grocery and later was the receptionist for Dr. Jerry Winiger.
She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Senior Citizens, Knights of St. John’s Auxiliary and St. Ann’s Society.
Surviving are nieces and nephews. Her husband, Frank, preceded her in death.
Services will begin at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, continuing at 9 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Rev. Jay Davidson officiating, with burial in St. Joseph cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a memorial service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church or the Visiting Nurse Association.
Frederick Luhring
Frederick “Charles” Luhring, 71, of Evansville, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, at his home of cancer.
He retired in 1985 after 34 years with the Evansville Police Department, most of those years in the Juvenile Department.
He and his sisters, June Althaus and Lucille Lemmer, both of Evansville, owned Luhring News Co.
He was a World War II Navy veteran.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Retired Policemen and Firemen Association.
He was a volunteer in caring for elderly neighbors. He enjoyed gardening and shared a garden plot with his neighbors.
Also surviving are his wife of 50 years, LaVon (Ringham); a daughter, Nancy Jane Beyl of Evansville; a granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Beyl; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Posey Gaines officiating, with burial in Oak Hill cemetery, where the Fraternal Order of Police will conduct rites.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pamela Johnson
Pamela Lamar (Irvin) Johnson, 43, of Evansville, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of a brain aneurysm.
She had worked at Casino Aztar, St. Mary’s Medical Center and the Vanderburgh County assessor’s office as a housing inspector.
She was a 1975 graduate of Harrison High School and had attended Ivy Tech.
She was a member of the Cleaves Memorial C.M.E. Church and the choir.
Surviving are her husband of 10 years, Wayne; a son, Clarke of Evansville; her mother, Bertha Irvin of Evansville; three sisters, Janice Irvin and Brenda Irvin-Johnson, both of Evansville, and Sonia Irvin-Smith of Spring, Texas; a brother, Kenneth Irvin of Evansville; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cleaves Memorial C.M.E. Church, the Rev. James Buckner officiating, with burial in Oak Hill cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Mason Bros. Memorial Chapel and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
