Richard Ramberger
Richard Ramberger, 64, of Evansville, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of a heart condition. He had been a supervisor at Creasey Co. and Scot Lad Foods, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church.
He enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Etta (Ford); a daughter, Mary Smith of Evansville; two sons, Bob of Boonville, Ind., and Keith of Elberfeld, Ind.; six grandchildren, Joseph and Chris Jones, Brian Blanchard, Jennifer Ramberger and Travis and Shane Frank; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Browning Funeral Home, the Rev. Robert Nall officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Mabel Caraker
Mabel M. Caraker, 81, formerly of Evansville, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Hospice House at the Memorial Hospital in Pembroke Pines, Fla.
She was an executive secretary for the Shane Uniform Co. in Evansville.
She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Beverly Osborne of Pembroke Pines; three sons, David Sr. of Dana Point, Calif., Michael of Fresno, Calif., and Gary of Streamwood, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, Brian, Jonathan, Nicholas, David Jr. and Tony Caraker, Kermit Ellison, Traci and Kimberly Osborne, Michelle Putty and Kristin Wilczynski; and five great-grandchildren.
Her husband, O.W., died in 1976.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, the Rev. Eugene Schmitt officiating, with burial in Maple Hill cemetery in New Harmony, Ind.
Friends may call from 9:30 to service time a the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund or the Memorial Pembroke Hospice Team 166.
Curtis Burton
Curtis C. Burton, 66, of Evansville, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital of a heart attack. He owned and operate Mr. Liquor, retiring in 1994 and then worked part time at Sears Roebuck and Co.
He was a Korean War Marine Corps veteran.
He attended the Twelfth Avenue Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Yvonne (Wright); a daughter, Sherri Hudson of Newburgh; a stepdaughter, Darla Derigo of Terre Haute, Ind.; his mother, Leotta Burton of Evansville; two sisters, Betty Buchanan of Evansville and Jeurine Scheurger of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Ronald Sr. of Evansville; four grandsons, Casey, Wettmarshausen and Tony, Frankie and Joey Derigo; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. John Sloan officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery, with military rites.

Goldia Teel
OWENSVILLE — Goldia Wheeler Nettleton Teel, 92, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at Owensville Convalescent Center.
She was a member of Fort Branch United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Jon of Owensville; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, William Davis Teel, died in 1974 and a daughter, Billie Throckmorton, died in 1994.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Holder Funeral home, with burial in Blythe Chapel cemetery.

Jesse Higginbottom
MOUNT VERNON — Jesse K. Higginbottom, 83, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at his home of cancer.
He had helped construct Grand Coulee Dam and had worked at Whirlpool Corp. for 37 years. He was a member of Whirlpool Pioneers in Evansville.
He was a World War II Army veteran and member of the American Legion Post 5 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1114.
He enjoyed fishing.
Surviving are two daughters, Diane E. Wilhite and Wanda K. Becker, both of Evansville; two sons, Eric J. of Philpot, Ky., and Mark L. of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Lydia J. Harper of Mount Vernon and Vera “Minnie” Ruetter of Homer, Alaska; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
His wife, Vera, died in February.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Boone Funeral Home Mount Vernon Chapel, with burial in Bellefontaine cemetery with military rites.
Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today, with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m., and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Charles Cadick
GRANDVIEW — Charles H. Cadick, 76, of Daytona Beach Shores, Fla., died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, at Hospice Care Center in Port Orange, Fla., of cancer.
He started the Cadick Poultry Co. in 1956, retiring as president after 35 years.
He was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Boston.
He was a Kentucky Colonel.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen; a daughter, Susan Gaskins of Houston; a son, John of Rockport; a sister, Jean Ritchie of Newburgh; a brother, William T. of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Quinton Cadick and Andrew Gaskins.
A son, Charles Robert, died in 1960.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with burial in Grandview cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to South Spencer Scholarship Foundation or Hospice of Volusla/Flagler in Florida.
Ruby McCall
WASHINGTON — Ruby Katherine McCall, 79, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Daviess Community Hospital.
She retired from Uniroyal.
She was a member of the Free Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Rita Baker Edwards of Washington; and a sister, Mary Gwin of Washington.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Gill Chapel, with burial in New Bethel cemetery.

Alta Stevens
WASHINGTON — Alta Stevens, 81, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at Eastgate Manor Nursing Home.
She attended Vincennes Avenue Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Pamela M. Padgett of Washington; a sister, Hallie Boger of Washington; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Gill Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Grove cemetery.

Densel Nolting
BICKNELL — Densel E. Nolting, 88, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
He had been the janitor for the Bicknell High School and the West Side School.
He attended Bicknell First Baptist Church.
Surviving is a niece.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bicknell Memorial cemetery.

Cecil Murray
Cecil C. Murray, 86, of Newburgh, formerly of Cressona, Pa., died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at Woodlawn Convalescent Center.
She retired as a clerk at Pottsville (Pa.) Towne Drugs. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Newburgh and former member of St. Mark’s United Church of Christ in Cressona.
Surviving are a daughter, Judith Williams of Newburgh; two sons, William of Chicago and Keith of Shavertown, Pa.; two sisters, Hazel LaPlaca of Pottsville and Dorothy Ramberger of Branchville, N.J.; a brother, Harry Mohl of Alabama; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, John M., died in 1992.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Ebling Funeral Home in Cressona, the Rev. Karl Jones officiating, with burial in Schuylkill Memorial Park in North Manheim Township, Pa.
