Wilmer Jones
Wilmer Maurice Jones, 89, of Evansville, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
He retired in 1978 from Small and Schnelosky as a carpet salesman.
He was a 50-year member of Methodist Temple and past president of the Crusader Sunday school class. He was a member of Patoka Methodist Church, where he was Sunday school superintendent and delegate to the National Methodist Conference.
He was a member of the Downtown Civitan Club, where he was a lieutenant governor, Mr. Civitan, and had worked on the committee to establish the Four Freedoms Monument.
He was a Mason and member of Scottish Rite and Hadi Shine.
He was a graduate of Lockyear Business College.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law who cared for him, Anita and Robert Vowell of Evansville; a granddaughter, Angie Luigs; two great-granddaughters; and a nephew.
His wife of 58 years, R. Lillian (Wheeler), died in 1989.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Robert Coleman officiating, with burial in Oak Hill cemetery in Patoka, Ind.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mari Lu Cranor
Mari Lu Cranor, 65, of Royalton, Ill., formerly of Evansville, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro, Ill., of heart failure.
She worked as a bookkeeper.
She was a member and pianist of the former Elkville Gospel Assembly Church.
Surviving are her husband, Lee; two daughters, Fredilu Toms of Herrin, Ill., and Anni Lea Jones of Evansville; a son, Fred W. Hall Jr. of Royalton; a sister, Alice Weed of Benton, Ill.; two brothers, Leon Foster of Texas, and John Foster of Rosiclare, Ill.; and five grandchildren, Billy D. Jones III, Andrew and Cody Toms and Alyssa and Ashley Hall.
Memorial Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin, Ill.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Blockhouse cemetery in Saline County.
Pauline Henselmeier
Pauline M. Henselmeier, 95, of Newburgh, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at Newburgh Health Care Center.
She was a World War II Army nurse and a life member of Newburgh American Legion Post 44.
She was a 1931 graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing.
Surviving are two stepdaughters, Ann Graham of California, and Sondra Fonk of Indianapolis; a stepson, Keith of Spencer, Ind.; a sister, Cecilia Crowley of Evansville; 14 stepgrandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Simpson Newburgh Chapel, the Rev. Earl Rohleder officiating, with burial in Rose Hill cemetery, with military rites.

Infant Clint Kvant
LEOPOLD — Clint Wallace Kvant, 3-day old son of Jason Kvant and Angie Neighbors, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville of respiratory failure.
Also surviving are grandparents, Anna LaMar, Erick Kvant, Brenda and Victor Neighbors; and his great-grandmother.
Family graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mark’s cemetery near Tell City. Huber Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the cemetery.
Ethelind Anderson
ROCKPORT — Ethelind Anderson, 85, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at Miller’s Merry Manor.
She was a beautician.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and past member of Business and Professional Women.
Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca R. Zimmermann of Evansville; a son Phillip of Newburgh; four grandchildren, Averam and Josef Pollak and Robert and Mark Zimmermann; and two great-grandchildren. A daughter, Cynthia Pollak, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Hill cemetery.

Irene Hill
PETERSBURG — Irene C. Hill, 88, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Sullivan of Petersburg; two sons, Jim Bob and Vesper, both of Petersburg; two sisters, Eugenia Elliott of Petersburg and Eloise Pancake of Amarillo, Texas; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Her husband, Lossie, died in 1974.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home, with burial in Union cemetery.

James Henning
SPURGEON — James “Perry” Henning, 81, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
He retired from Old Ben Coal Co. in 1981. He worked for Peabody Coal Co. in Beaver Dam, Ky., and Alcoa Warrick Operations.
He was a member of Spurgeon General Baptist Church, United Mine Workers, and a Mason.
Surviving are two daughters, Dorothy Chick of Prospect, Ky., and Kay Black of Lynnville; a son, Barry of Winslow; four grandchildren, Tara Black, Nick and James Henning and Cheri Reese; and six great-grandchildren. His wife, Virginia, died in 1989.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Pemberton Bradley Funeral Home in Lynnville, with burial in Spurgeon cemetery.

Barbara Pavey
Barbara M. (Kays) Pavey, 89, of Evansville, died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
She was active in the Senior Citizens Center.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Leistner of Terre Haute, Ind., and Delores “Dee” Paulin of Louisville, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Candace Hahn, Jo’dee Eleson, Phillip Paulin, Nancy Edwards, Elizabeth Heckmann and Michael and Bradley Leistner; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Ralph, died in 1968 and a daughter, Connie Lynn Pavey, died in 1950.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Little Sisters of the Poor, Monsignor Clarence Lindauer officiating, with burial at St. Mary’s cemetery in Tell City, Ind.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time at the Little Sisters of the Poor. Browning Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

‘Punkin’ Smith
William E. “Punkin” Smith, 45, of Evansville, died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of complications of emphysema.
He was a truck driver for Powerline Freight Systems and a self-employed disc jockey.
Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Judith (Stevenson); a daughter, Jan Lewis of Evansville; his father, Daniel Morrison of Evansville; five sisters, Carol Dunn, Paula Henry, Polly London and Sharon Rust, all of Evansville, and Karen Miles of Mount Vernon, Ind.; four grandchildren, Kyle Hayhurst, David Ward, Dawn Martinez and Kristi Matheny; a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
His son, Billy, died in 1991.
Services will be at 10 a.m Monday at Browning Funeral Home, the Rev. Etshel Hillhouse officiating, with burial in Campground cemetery.

Mark Henry
Mark Alan Henry, 48, of Evansville, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at United Medical Center in West Cheyenne, Wyo., of an apparent heart attack.
He worked for the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corp. as a school psychologist.
He was a member of the National Association of School Psychologists, Indiana Association of School Psychologist, National Teachers Association, Indiana State Teacher’s Association and Phi Delta Kappa fraternity.
He was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of eight years, Elizabeth; a son, Patrick H. of Evansville; and his parents, Patrick A. and Dorothy L. Henry of Evansville.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Simpson United Methodist Church, the Rev. Joe L. Mitchell officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel and from 9 a.m. to service time at the church.
