William Warren

William F. Warren, 68, of Cadiz, Ky., formerly of Evansville, died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital of cancer.

He was a truck driver and retired from General Electric in Mount Vernon, Ind.

He was a Korean War Army veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars 1114.

Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Joyce; two daughters, Teresa Young of French Lick, Ind., and Dana Stout of Paoli, Ind.; a son, Kelly of Illinois; two stepsons, Michael R. and Roger Melton, both of Evansville; two brothers, Don of Paoli and Robert of Titusville, Fla.; and nine grandchildren, Natlie, Nicole, Jolene, Mason, Madison, Nathaniel, Daniel, Melissa and Joseph.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum, with military rites.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Helen Dooley

Helen M. (Wigand) Dooley, 80, of Evansville, died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

She had worked at deJong’s and L.S. Ayers.

She was Catholic.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda Dooley-Cameron, with whom she lived, and Carole Pokorney, both of Evansville; a son, Gary of Panama City, Fla.; a brother, Linus Wigand of Jasper, Ind.; five grandchildren, Bryan Pokorney, Michele Loftus, Nicolas and Jessica Cameron and Julie Howell; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Roy B., died in 1975.

Services will be at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, continuing at 9:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, the Rev. Jack Durchholz officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a prayer service at 6 p.m., at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

Samuel Rumer

VINCENNES — Samuel H. Rumer, 70, of Lake Wales, Fla., formerly of Vincennes, died Friday, June 23, 2000, at Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven, Fla., of heart failure.

He worked as a salesman for Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. and then became manager of the Vincennes Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. office.

He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Lake Wales and a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Vincennes.

Surviving are his wife, Judy; two daughters, Sharon Paetzold of Lake Wales and Debbie Showalter of Boynton Beach, Fla.; two sons, Steven of Big Rapids, Mich., and Michael of Swansea, Ill.; a sister, Mary Hadley of Madison; a brother, Raymond of Vincennes; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church, with burial in Mount Calvary cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, with a rosary at 7 p.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Robert Etienne

MAGNET — Robert P. “Blick” Etienne, 71, died Friday, June 23, 2000, at his home of cancer.

He retired from Branchville Correctional Facility and had formerly worked as a repairman for Singer Sewing Center inTell City.

He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold and American Legion Post 213 in Tell City.

He was a Korean War Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Yvonne (Rogier); two daughters, Debbie Bivens of Evansville and Judy Pompilio of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sons, Bob “Hopper” of Dale and Steve of Magnet; two sisters, Lorene Jones of Louisville, Ky., and Susie Evans of Washington; four brothers, Justin of Magnet, Thomas of Haymarket, Va., Anthony of Warsaw and Hubert of Washington; six grandchildren, Angie Underhill, Alicia, Ashley and April Etienne and Tara and Lindsay Pompilio; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Church, with burial in the church cemetery, with military rites.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m., and from 8 to 9 a.m. Monday at Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Perry County Memorial Hospital Home Health Hospice.

Anna Long

BICKNELL — Anna Sophia Long, 87, formerly of Bicknell, died Friday, June 23, 2000, at Crestview Convalescent Home.

She was Baptist.

Surviving are four daughters, Patty Bowman of Bicknell, Jean Hall of Rockville, Diann Hendrix of Kokomo and Vickie McFarland of Vincennes; a son, Edgar Roger George of Elizabeth; a sister, Beatrice Emmons of Vincennes; a brother, Paul Wilhite of Evansville; 11 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home in Vincennes, with burial in Beal cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Alvina Burdick

Alvina A. Burdick, 76, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at Parkview Care Center from a stroke.

She had worked at General Tire & Rubber Co. for 20 years. She was a member of the Gethsemane Temple, charter member of Parents Without Partners and former member of YWCA.

Surviving are two daughters, Judy Mae Sanford of Evansville and Dianna Jean Fisher of Glezen, Ind.; a son, Jerry Shannon of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Faye Hall of Evansville and Grace Druelinger of Hatfield, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Melany Peak, Jerry Fisher Jr., Mike Sanford, Ronnie, Donnie and Joy Shannon and Patty Vavra; 15 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Her twin brother, Freddie Ruark, died in 1984.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Clarence Culbertson officiating, with burial in Alexander cemetery in Patronville, Ind.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Wayne Camp

Wayne Lowell Camp, 47, of Evansville, died Thursday, April 6, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of leukemia.

He worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Julie; a son, Heath of Evansville; his mother, Marian Camp of Evansville; a sister, Anita Jones of Evansville; two brothers, Steven and Ken, both of Evansville; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Alexander Funeral Home North Chapel, Ron Vaughn officiating, with burial in Oak Hill cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Vanderburgh Humane Society.

Margaret Schnabel

Margaret E. Schnabel, 85, of Evansville, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at Regina Continuing Care Center.

She was a member of the West Side St. Paul’s United Church of Christ and the Haymakers Auxiliary.

Surviving are a sister, Dolores Westfall of Evansville; a brother, Alvin Effinger of Evansville; and nieces and nephews, including Jeane McCutchan who cared for her.

Her husband of 48 years, William F., died in 1987.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, Louis H. Dorsch officiating, with entombment in Locust Hill Mausoleum.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Robert Wilson

Robert D. Wilson, 34, formerly of Evansville, died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, in Kent, Wash.

Surviving are three sisters, Jackie Franks and Judy Walden, both of Evansville, and Wanda Smith of Birmingham, Ala.; three brothers, Billy, Hobart and Doyle, all of Evansville; and his companion, Ken Kinloch of Kent.

His body was cremated.

Private services and burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.

Amos Bland

Amos William Bland, 59, formerly of Evansville, died Monday, March 27, 2000, in Lake Butler, Fla. The cause of death is pending autopsy results in Florida.

Surviving are his sister, Deloris Purcell of Bassett, Va.; and nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were handled by the Archer Funeral Home in Lake Butler, Fla.

Frank Bush

Frank Bush, 72, of Evansville, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at his home of heart failure.

He was a homebuilder for 45 years and owner of Frank Bush Construction, retiring in 1993.

He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Mount Vernon, Ind., the Owls of Evansville and past member of the Eagles.

He promoted teen dances in the 1970s at the Civic Center Gold Room, St. Benedict Catholic Church and other locations.

Surviving are a daughter, Pamela F. Jennings of Evansville; four sons, Steven, Gerald L. and Leonard M., all of Evansville, and Christopher A. of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Doris Emmerson of Mount Vernon and Grady Myers of Chandler, Ind.; two brothers, Idus of Winterhaven, Fla., and Walter D. Jr. of Evansville; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

His wife of 42 years, Mary Helen (Williams), died in 1991.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. William Chapman and John Haines officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association Hospice.
