Troy Rose

MOUNT VERNON, Ind. — Troy Bee Rose, 82, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at the hom of a daughter, Nina Hale of Mount Vernon of cardiac arrest.

She worked for the Mount Vernon Metropolitan School District for 10 years.

She was a 50-year member of the First Baptist Church and a member of Eastern Star.

Also surviving are a daughter, Janet Kay Alldredge of Mount Vernon; a son, John P. of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Thelma Hopkins and Peggy Anders, both of San Antonio, Texas; and four grandchildren, Lisa Ann Rose, Jody Kay Bergner, Rocky Joe Stewart and Troy Paul Hale.

Her husband, Orval Paul, died in 1971.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Norvell Funeral Home, with burial in Bellefontaine cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.

Theresa Aders

ADYEVILLE, Ind. — Theresa “Terry” Aders, 40, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at her home. Perry County coroner attributed death to natural causes.

She was a head fuel desk attendant for the 231 Truck Stop in Dale.

Surviving are her husband, Gary; a daughter, Nicole Aders at home; two sons, Joshua and Walter Haney, both at home; her mother and stepfather, Elizabeth and William B. Hill of Sperryville, Va.; her father, Robert Pierson Sr. of Cape May, N.J.; three sisters, Beth Reynolds of Stafford, Va., Gerri McCleary of Alexandria, Va., and Bernadette “Bunny” Myer of Frederick, Md.; and a brother, Robert W. Pierson Jr. of Bealeton, Va.

Services will be at 10 a.m. EST Saturday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with burial in the Bristow City cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Ruby Cunningham

OAKLAND CITY, Ind. — Ruby M. Cunningham, 91, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.

She was a member of the Friendship General Baptist Church in Oakland City.

Surviving are two sisters, Gold Dillon of Wheeling, Ind., and Lavada Borders of Francisco; a brother, Frank Watkins of Wheeling; a granddaughter, Pamela Wilson of Noblesville; and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Pearson and a son, Samuel Pearson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home, with burial in Montgomery cemetery in Oakland City.

Friends may call from noon to service time at the funeral home.

Opal Miller

Opal E. Miller, 87, died Jan. 17, 2000, at Columbia Health Care Center of cancer.

He worked for Greyhound Bus Lines for 10 years, International Harvester for 10 years and retired from Deaconess Hospital.

He was a member of the choir and deacon of Bethel Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.

Surviving are a niece and a nephew and his wife who cared for him, Robert and Mary Miller. His wife, Nannie, died in 1989.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at New Hope Baptist Church, the Revs. J.D. Marks Jr. and Emirch Tyler Jr. officiating, with burial in Oak Hill cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Mason Bros. Memorial Chapel.

Nancy Kleiman

Nancy Ethel Kleiman, 84, of Evansville, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at her home.

She retired as manager of the North Park Libs Candy Store.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the quilting group.

Surviving are a daughter, Nan Benedict of Evansville; two sons, Jim of Evansville and Walt of Clifton, Va.; a stepsister, Frances McClain of Nashville, Tenn.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Her husband, Theodore, died in 1973.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, the Rev. Wade Butler officiating, with burial in the Lutheran cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

John O. O’Tain

John O. O’Tain, 85, of Greenwood, Ind., formerly of Evansville, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at St. Francis Hospital and Health Center in Beech Grove, Ind.

He had been an engineer for Exxon for 33 years and was a utility engineer for the Indiana State Highway Commission for 14 years, retiring in 1984.

He was a 1938 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh He was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church and the church’s Keenagers and a former member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Evansville.

He was active with the Boy Scouts in Greenwood and in Evansville was on the Boy Scouts Council committee to establish Wesselman’s Park Nature Center. He was past president of the Greenwood Parks and Recreation Board.

Surviving are his wife, Claire Zoller; two daughters, Martha Mosemiller of Greenwood and Marilyn Jean O’Tain of Shelbyville, Ind.; two sons, Robert David of Evansville and John G. “Jack” of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Kyle O’Tain, and Sarah and Anne Mosemiller.

He was preceded in death by a son, John Lawrence, in 1958.

Services were in Greenwood at the Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, with burial in Calvary cemetery in Indianapolis.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Noble Malone

Noble Cortez Malone, 75, formerly of Evansville, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, in Lauderdale County, Ala.

He had been a construction worker and member of Teamsters Local 215 in Evansville. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a Baptist.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy (White) of Somerville, Ind.; a daughter, Sharon Seib of Petersburg, Ind.; a son, Ed of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.

Burial was in Pettus cemetery in Lexington, Ala.

Eugene Finchum

Eugene F. Finchum, 89, of Columbus, Ind., father of Sandra E. Larrison of Newburgh, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

He was a representative for Equitable of New York for 50 years. He was a member and Sunday school teacher for 60 years of the First Baptist Church, member of Indiana American Baptist Convention, Gideons International and Martinsville Masonic Lodge.

Also surviving is a sister, Edna Louise McCullough of South Bend, Ind.; two grandchildren, John E. Finchum and Laura L. Larrison; and two great-grandchildren. A son, Myron E., preceded him in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Barkes Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home in Columbus, the Rev. Jon Carlstrom officiating, with burial in Garland Brook cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from noon to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church’s deacons fund or the Arthritis Foundation.

Lila Malloy

Lila B. “Bette” Malloy, 82, of Mount Carmel, Ill., formerly of Evansville, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital of cancer.

She was an artist and a former chorus girl in New York City. She was a member of Free Methodist Church in Mount Carmel.

Surviving are nephews who cared for her, John and Archie Williams and Terry Toole, all of Chandler, Ind.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Free Methodist Church in Mount Carmel. There will be no visitation at Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Jacqueline Johnson

Jacqueline Elaine (Southard) Johnson, 34, of Alvin, Texas, formerly of Evansville, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Herman

Hospital in Houston. Cause of death is pending coroner’s investigation in Texas.

She worked at Wal-Mart in Alvin and was a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was a former member of Lincoln Trails Dressage Group.

Surviving are her husband of four years, Danny; two daughters, Bridget Nicole Austin and Victoria Rochelle Austin, both of Evansville; her parents, Bob and Anita Brenner of Evansville; a sister, Regina Dreesen of Evansville; a stepsister, Deirdre Van Allen of Evansville; a stepbrother, Kevin Brenner of Evansville; her grandmother, Delilia Joyce Phillips of Evansville; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Gary Watson officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dave Ulrich

Dave Ulrich, 48, of Evansville, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at his home from cardiac arrhythmia.

He was a mechanical engineer with Professional Consultants.

He was a 1969 graduate of Rex Mundi High School and a 1973 graduate of the University of Evansville.

He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, the National Environmental Balancing Board and the Mechanical Contractors Association.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Marti; two daughters, Jennifer Ulrich of Bloomington, Ind., and Lee Ann Ulrich of Evansville; a son, Mike of Evansville; his parents, Marylou and Jim Ulrich of Evansville; a sister, Jeanne Schultz of Evansville; four brothers, Tom of Cheverly, Md., and Dan, Bob and John, all of Evansville; and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph cemetery. Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel is handling arrangements.
