Alberta Clark
Alberta Clark, 77, of Evansville, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at St. Mary’s Health Care Services/Welborn Campus of heart failure.
She retired from the housekeeping department at St. Mary’s Medical Center as a supervisor, after 28 years.
She was a member and on the usher board at the Greater St. James Baptist Church and a member of the church food bank and nurses guild.
She had served as treasurer of the Heroiners of Jericho Alpha Grandcourt, a member of Elizabeth Eastern Star 29 and active member and secretary of Ballard Neighborhood Association.
Surviving are her husband of 30 years, Arthaniel “Bud”; three daughters, Gloria J. Taylor, Cynthia L. Harris and Shirley Baker, all of Evansville; a son, Don E. of Minnesota; three sisters, Mary J. Baker, Martha Landours, both of Evansville, and Dorothy Reeves of Atlanta; four brothers, Frank K., Ike and Donal Collins, all of Evansville, and Billy R. Collins of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Greater St. James Baptist Church, the Rev, . Douglas Smith officiating, with entombment at Oak Hill Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Mason Bros. Memorial Chapel and from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Kathleen Holden
Kathleen Ann Holden, 63, formerly of Evansville, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at her home in Bloomington, Ind. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
She attended Memorial High School.
She was a member of the Evangelical Community Church in Bloomington.
Surviving are her husband, George R.; a daughter, Melissa Wilhoite of Bloomington; a son, Mark of Mitchell, Ind.; three sisters, Janie Neufelder of Columbus, Ind., Mary Carroll Blocher of Greenville, Ohio, and Margaret Miller of Lafayette, Ind.; and a grandson, Holden Wilhoite.
Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Evangelical Community Church, the Rev. Bob Whitaker officiating. Day Mortuary in Bloomington is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
Ray Allison
Ray Austin Allison, 67, of Olive Branch, Miss., formerly of Evansville, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis of complications from a liver infection.
He retired from the teamsters Local 600 in St. Louis.
He was a Air Force veteran.
Surviving are three stepdaughters, Gwen Stepp of Owensboro, Ky., Becky Jones of Kelso, Wash., and Nancee Fischer of Ellisville, Mo.; a stepson, Mark Jones of Cahokia, Ill. a sister, Elizabeth McBride of Clearwater, Fla.; nine stepgrandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
The body is being donated to science. Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to your local United Way or Salvation Army.
Roxanne Carleson
Roxanne Carleson, 45, of Palmdale, Calif., formerly of Evansville, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at the Van Nuys Hospital in California.
She had been in the hospital for five weeks; the cause of death has not yet been determined.
She had been a teacher’s aide.
She had attended elementary school in Evansville.
Surviving are her husband of 12 years, Dave; a daughter, Charlotte Kilcrease of Paso Robles, Calif.; two sons, David Paul and Kenny, both of Palmdale; her parents, Paul and Laura Norris of Evansville; two sisters, Robin Gail Norris and Tracey Reavis, both of Evansville; a brother, Stanley Norris of Evansville; a granddaughter, Alycia Kilcrease; and a nephew.
Services will be today in Palmdale.
Joseph Schultheis
Joseph L. “Joe” Schultheis, 76, of Evansville, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at St. Mary’s Health Care Services/Welborn Campus from a stroke.
He was the owner and operator of Schultheis Drug Store for more than 47 years.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He was a graduate of Butler University and member of the Indiana Pharmaceutical Association and St. Vincent DePaul. He enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Cecilia Marie (Burch); three sisters, Margaret M. Schnur, Mildred E. Helfrich and Louise M. Spahn, all of Evansville; four brothers, Frederick W., Larry L., Edward L. and Leo B., all of Evansville; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Theresa Catholic Church, the Revs. Ted Tempel and Ed Schnur officiating, with burial in St. Joseph cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m.. Sunday at Browning Funeral Home, with a memorial service at 7 p.m., and from 9:30 a.m. to service time at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Theresa Catholic Church or in Rockport, Ind., the St. Bernard Catholic Church.
Carl Hollingsworth
Carl J. Hollingsworth, 75, of Evansville, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital from a stroke.
He had worked as a machinist in California.
He was a World War II and Korean War Army veteran.
Surviving are two sons, David K. of New Orleans and Stephen of Evansville; three sisters, Margaret Kelley, Mary Ann Weis and Emilie Seib, all of Evansville; two brothers, James and David, both of Evansville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, the Rev. Fred Englert officiating, with burial in St. Joseph cemetery in Evansville.
Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Pauline Ralph
Pauline T. Ralph, 88, of Evansville, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson, Ky.
She was Catholic and enjoyed farming with her husband.
Surviving are a sister, Bessie Thompson of Henderson; a grandson, Robert William Ralph; two great-grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, George William, died in 1990 and a son, William Taylor Ralph, died in 1975.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home in Owensboro, Ky., with burial in Mater Dolorosa cemetery.

Charles Frederick
Charles R. Frederick, 75, of Evansville, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at his home of cancer.
He retired from Whirlpool Corp. in 1987 and spent 20 years at Inland Marina running the boat dock.
He was a World War II veteran and he served in the Assault Force “U” on Normandy Beach. His unit was awarded the French Cross of War.
He was a volunteer for the Salvation Army.
Surviving are his wife, Charlotte; two daughters, Angela Hopper of Henderson and Crystal Frederick of Evansville; two stepdaughters, Charla Taylor and Cindy Orange, both of Evansville; three sons, Mike of Indianapolis, Mark of Hatfield, Cayce of Newburgh; two stepsons, Harold and Rance Evans of Newburgh; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel. There will be no visitation the body will be cremated.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
Leona Glover
MOUNT VERNON, Ind. — Leona M. (Gerton) Glover, 73, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville of cancer.
She had been the office manager for Hasting Equipment Co. for 42 years, for 10 years worked for Fuelling Concrete and two years at Evansville Concrete Co.
She was an organist, treasurer and Sunday school teacher at the Mount Vernon First Christian Church and was past president of the Christian Women’s Service.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Charles I.; three sisters, Ruth Bottomley, Margaret Stephan and Mary Ellen Hundley, all of Mount Vernon.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m, . Saturday at the Mount Vernon First Christian Church, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park in Evansville.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to service time at the church. Norvell Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or the American Cancer Society.
James Dimmett
BOONVILLE, Ind. — James A. Dimmett, 67, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville from complications of emphysema.
He retired in 1922 from the Lynnville Mine and was a member of the United Mine Workers.
He was a member of the Main Street General Baptist Church, American Legion Post 200 of Boonville, Pioneer Sunday School class and coached The Dimmett Dandy’s women’s softball team for 10 years.
Surviving are his wife of three years, Anna; two daughters, Lana Jo VanWinkle and Lori Lynn Noffsinger, both of Lynnville; two stepdaughters, Bobbi Ann Myers and Rhonda Lynn Oberding, both of Rockport; four sons, Chris Aaron and Clint Lee, both of Lynnville, Daniel Ray of Vincennes and James Aaron Jr. of Boonville; a stepson, John Nathan Ray of Tell City; two sisters, Thelma Beard of Lynnville and Lucielle Zint of Dale; a brother, Ray of Lynnville; seven grandchildren, Stacey Draper, Brittney and Leah VanWinkle, Ben and Trevor Noffsinger and Kristen and Jessi Dimmett; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pemberton-Bradley Funeral Home in Lynnville, with burial in Lynnville cemetery.

Naomi Schwenk
JASPER, Ind. — Naomi R. Schwenk, 77, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at Jasper Memorial Hospital of heart failure.
She had been a cook for several local restaurants.
She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Original Home Economics Club.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph I.; seven daughters, Patricia Brown of Noblesville, Janet Vaal of St. Meinrad, Mary Luebbehusen of Ferdinand, Sheila Rudolph of Lafayette, Audrey Fisher of Bloomington, Ill. Monica Hicks of Peru, Ind., and Yvette Schwenk of Beebe, Ark.; three sons, Tim McNelis and Joseph G. Schwenk, both of Jasper and Philip Schwenk of Santa Claus; a sister, Florence Schnell of Celestine; 24 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Her first husband, Bernard B. McNelis, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Precious Blood Catholic Church, with entombment in Fairview cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel, with a rosary at 3 p.m. and at 7 p.m.
