Jacob Richter
CHANDLER, Ind. — Jacob D. “Jake” Richter, 26, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, in an automobile accident on Indiana 62 west of Chandler.
He worked at Bootz Manufacturing in Evansville and North American Green in St. Wendel.
He was a member of the Chandler United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of six years, Tula; two sons, Nicholas and Jacob K., both at home; his mother and stepfather, Laura and Tim Sullivan of Newburgh; his father, Terry L. Richter of Folsomville; his stepmother, Jean Wall of Folsomville; a sister, Michelle Riley of Boonville; a brother, Jarrod of Evansville; a stepbrother, Dan Sullivan of Evansville; grandparents, Marian Canarie and Anna Mildred and Burnell Edgar Richter; and step grandmother, Carolyn Sullivan.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Koehler Funeral Home Perigo Chapel, with burial in Greenwood cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Allison Maikranz
PRINCETON, Ind. — Allison K. Maikranz, 46, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Gibson General Hospital of heart failure.
Surviving are a daughter, Christy Creamer of Owensville; a son, Timothy of Hazelton; a sister, Leann Fiscus of Petersburg; two brothers, Duane Stiles of Oakland City and John S. Stiles of Francisco; a grandson, Alex Creamer; and a step granddaughter, Jessica Buchanan.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Odd Fellows cemetery in Francisco. Colvin Funeral Home is handling arrangements. There will be no visitation.
Zelma Richardson
PRINCETON, Ind. — Zelma L. Richardson, 87, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at Holiday Manor Nursing Home.
She had worked at a nursing home. She attended First General Baptist Church and the Nazarene Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Jayne Wright of Mt. Carmel, Ill., and Brenda McGill of Princeton; a brother, Paul Snow of Princeton; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Struble and a son, Charles Beckner.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Odd Fellows cemetery in Francisco. There will be no visitation at Colvin Funeral Home.
Thelma Wagner
PRINCETON, Ind. — Thelma Jo (Teipe) Wagner, 65, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville of complications of scleroderma.
She retired from Gibson General Hospital as a nurse’s aide.
She was a life long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She had been active in 4-H and was a Girl Scout leader.
She enjoyed painting, crafts and counted cross-stitch.
Surviving are her husband, of 46 years, Richard L.; three daughters, Patricia J. Bathgate of Princeton, Dr. Kathryn A. Sommer of LaPorte and Susan E. Pearson of Jeffersonville; three sons, Daniel R. of Evansville, Carl A. of New Albany and John B. of Princeton; three sisters, Mary Ann Meyer of Princeton, Wilma Kensler of Pascogoula, Miss., and Agnes Titzer of Santa Claus; a brother, Alvin Teipe of Evansville; and 14 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Colvin Funeral Home.
Dorothy Hellenberg
MOUNT VERNON, Ind. — Dorothy (Chapman) Hellenberg, 84, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at the Mount Vernon Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of cardiac arrest.
She had worked at Davis Men’s Wear, Overall Factory, and had been an Avon saleslady.
She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ.
Surviving are her husband, Herman; three sons, Gary of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Dennis and Randy, both of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Grace Terry of Evansville and Hazel Strange of Mazon, Ill.; four grandchildren, Kimi, Amanda, Krystal and Zachary Hellenberg; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Norvell Funeral Home, with burial in Bellefontaine cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ruth Beckes
PRINCETON, Ind. — Ruth G. Beckes, 88, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Gibson General Hospital.
She was a former member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Maxine Lee Akers of Princeton; a son, Joe of Princeton; four grandchildren, Rita Byers, Charlene Critchfield, Hap Eric and Kirt Aron Beckes; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Park Lawn Mausoleum in Evansville. There will be no visitation at Colvin Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gibson County Council on Aging.
Bessie Kasinger
VINCENNES, Ind. — Bessie Bernice Kasinger, 83, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Lodge of the Wabash.
Surviving is a niece.
Her husband, James G., died in 1974.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Smith Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Ill., with burial in Oak Lawn cemetery in St. Francisville, Ill.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Ann Carson
Ann Greene Grimsley Carson, 84, of Evansville, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at her home of cancer.
She spent her formative years in Paris, where her father managed Swift and Co. She spoke French fluently and acquired a zeal for European history.
She was a graduate of Indiana University and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.
She became the third woman in Evansville to earn a private pilot’s license. She and her husband co-piloted a single engine plane on a month-long wedding trip to Mexico and Guatemala in 1941.
She was a volunteer with the Junior League, Visiting Nurse Association, Evansville Blind Association and the American Cancer Society and supported The Reading Carrel. She was on the boards of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, Evansville Museum, Willard Library and Reitz Home.
She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
She was a member of the New Century Club, Evansville Country Club and the Kennel Club.
Surviving are four daughters, Ruth-Anne C. Cooper of St. Louis, Joan G. Carson of Atlanta, Elizabeth C. “Betsy” Becker of Evansville and Sarah D. Carson of New York City; two sons, William A. II of Memphis, Tenn., and Christopher S. “Kit” of Atlanta; 19 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Ellis A. Carson, died in 1984.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, the Rev. Jack Durcholz officiating, with burial in Oak Hill cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Anna Willett
Anna M. Willett, 89, formerly of Evansville, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, in Fort Charlotte, Fla.
She was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
Surviving are a brother, Joseph Geiser of Evansville; and a niece and nephew.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte, Fla., the Rev. Otmar Gallagher officiating, with burial in Charlotte Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda, Fla.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at the Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel.
Madalene Oliker
Madalene M. Oliker, 89, of Evansville, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
She had been a teacher in New Castle, Pa. She and her husband, Jerry, who died in 1986, owned Oliker Brothers Men’s Clothing Store in Aliquippa, Pa., before moving to Evansville in 1978.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law who cared for her, Stephen and Carol Oliker of Evansville; a brother, Ted Marlin of New Castle; three grandchildren, David and Robert Oliker and Diane Baldessari; a great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Rose Hill cemetery in Evansville, Rabbi David Feder officiating. Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel is handling arrangements.
William King
William J. King, 84, of Evansville, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at his home.
He had been a conductor with the L&N; Railroad.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 748 and Eagles 427.
He attended Webb’s Chapel Methodist Church near McLeansboro, Ill.
Surviving are two sons, Steve of Elverta, Calif., and Stan of Evansville; a sister, Eleanor Gunter of Metamora, Ill.; a brother, Gene of Vista, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Shane, Jada and Rebecca King and Shannon Hoffman.
His wife, Matrona “Bobbie” (Davis), died in 1996.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, Ill., the Rev. Bill Duncan officiating, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a Masonic service at 8 p.m.
