Earl Schneider
Earl William Schneider, 83, of Evansville, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital.
He retired in 1974 from Chrysler Corp. in Evansville and St. Louis after 30 years.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in the city, the St. Joseph Catholic Church Senior Citizens group, a life member of the Owls, and a member of the SWIRCA Senior Citizens and Chrysler Retirees Local 136.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Lillian Aline (Bentley); two daughters, Carolyn Sue Pigman of Evansville and Sharon Wilson of Boonville; a son, Earl William Jr. of Simpsonville, Ky.; a sister, Beatrice Haggerman of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, continuing at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in the city, the Rev. Michael E. Allen and the St. Joseph Pastoral Team officiating, with entombment in St. Joseph cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with a memorial service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Sandra Boberg
Sandra K. (Garwood) Boberg, 43, of Evansville, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at her home. Her death is under investigation by the Vanderburgh County Coroner.
She had worked at Anchor Industries.
She sang with the Germania Maennerchor.
Surviving are her husband of 10 years, Glenn; three daughters, Delilah Sweeney and Jennifer and Amber Scott, all of Evansville; a son, Ronald L. Scott of Evansville; her parents, Patricia Browning of Owensville, Ind., and William E. Garwood of Evansville; two sisters, Patricia and Penny Silver, both of Evansville; four brothers, William D. Garwood of Carlsbad, N.M., Daniel R. Garwood of Poseyville, Ind., Timothy L. Garwood of Evansville and Terry Joe Garwood of Owensville; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Zion United Church of Christ-Lippe, the Rev. Kenneth Scherry officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Pierre Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to service time at the church.

Rose DeVault
Rose Mary (Kessler) DeVault, 75, of Evansville, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at her home of cancer.
She was a member of St. Benedict Cathedral and the Daughters of Isabella. She was also active in Right to Life and Birth Right.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Joseph C. Sr.; three daughters, Mary Lou Rush of Brussels, Belgium, and Sylvia Wettmarshausen and Annette Seibert, both of Evansville; two sons, Joseph C. Jr. of Evansville and Timothy of Newburgh; a sister, Isabel Lutterbach of Evansville; and 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert G., in 1999.
Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Browning Funeral Home, continuing at 9 a.m. at St. Benedict Cathedral, the Rev. Tom Kessler officiating, with burial in St. Joseph cemetery.

Mary McCollum
Mary E. McCollum, 96, of Evansville, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at Newburgh Healthcare Center.
She worked at Servel and did alterations for Kaiser’s and Salm’s Department Stores.
She was a charter member of Morningside Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol Byers and Mary Eustacia Tucker, both of Evansville; a son, Joseph V. of Fairfield, Conn.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Joseph B., died in 1962.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Richard Bender Jr. officiating, with burial in Park Lawn cemetery.

Ella Schultz
Ella L. (Roehr) Schultz, 84, of Evansville, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at McCurdy Healthcare Center.
She worked as a cook at Perry Heights Elementary School.
She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and the Quilter’s Circle. She was a charter member of the Olde Tyme Auto Club.
Surviving are a son, Jerald R. of Evansville; a sister, Delores Hunt of Danville, Ky.; a brother, Reuben Roehr of Evansville; and two grandchildren, Jerryl Schultz and Jayna Schultz Lynch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond W., in 1986; and by two daughters, Rosalee Schultz, in 1941, and Wanda Schultz, in 1956.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, the Rev. Louis H. Dorsch officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.

Robert Harper
Robert Vance Harper, 62, of Russellville, Ky., brother of Jo Anne Littrell of Evansville, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., of cardiac arrest.
He was a retired tech sergeant in the Air Force and a Korean and Vietnam War veteran.
He was a member of Northside Church of Christ.
Also surviving are his wife, Shirley; five daughters, Glenda Louise Tyler of Colorado Springs, Colo., Debra Kay Floyd of Mountain Home, Idaho, Teresa Lynn Colson of Garden Grove, Calif., Suzanna Carol Mayes of Russellville, and Cynthia Ann Price of Indian Trails, N.C.; two brothers, Mark of Russellville and David of Hartsville, Tenn.; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m.EST Monday at Memorial Funeral Home in Russellville, the Revs. Keith Burnett and Brent Lee officiating, with burial in Berea cemetery.

Dymple Johnson
Dymple Johnson, 78, of Evansville, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at Angel River Health & Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh.
She was a school teacher, teaching two years at Spurgeon High School in Spurgeon, Ind., and 18 years at Pendleton Middle School in Pendleton, Ind.
She was a member of Winslow United Methodist Church in Winslow, Ind.
She was a 1941 graduate of Indiana State University.
Surviving are her husband, George “Delbert”; a daughter, Karen White of Warrensburg, Mo.; a son, Robert of Lebanon, Tenn.; a grandchild; three stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Monday at Curtis Funeral Home in Winslow, Ind., the Rev. Sally Dickerson officiating, with burial in Spurgeon cemetery in Spurgeon, Ind.

Herman Ratliff
Herman M. Ratliff, 73, of Evansville, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital of heart failure.
He retired in 1987 from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 30 years as a machinist.
He also served as a minister for the Wesleyan Methodist Church.
He attended Bible Missionary Church of Evansville.
He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the occupation of Japan.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Georgia (Collinsworth); two daughters, Shirley Brown of Evansville and Barbara Howard of Hendersonville, Tenn.; two sons, Michael of Troy, Va., and Sam of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Audrey Huffman of South Shore, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Marion Brown officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. EST in Heidelburg cemetery in Corydon, Ind.

Thomas Nance
Thomas J. Nance, 68, of Evansville, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at his home of cancer.
He started as a roofer and was a superintendent at US Sheet Metal. He was a member of Roofers Local 106 for 30 years.
He was a member of the Horseman’s Benevolent Protection Agency and president of MWN Racing Stables.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Patricia (Stinchfield); a daughter, Paula Nance of Evansville; two sons, Tommy of Evansville and Michael of Belleville, Ill.; a brother, Charles of Evansville; a grandson, Chris Arnold; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.

Chloe McGregor
Chloe H. McGregor, 97, of Evansville, formerly of Dawson Springs, Ky., died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at Holiday Health Care.
She was a former member of the Primitive Baptist Church of Dawson Springs.
She enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting.
Surviving are two grandchildren, Dwayne Jones and Carla Thienes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, in 1958, and by a daughter, Bettie Sue Jones, in 1997.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, with burial in Rosedale cemetery in Dawson Springs.
