Mildred Schellhase
Mildred Ruth (Eaton) Schellhase, 87, of Evansville, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at Evansville Protestant Home.
She worked for the Internal Revenue Service, retiring as a secretary in 1972. She also had worked for Red Spot Paint and the Agriculture Department.
She was a member of Fairlawn United Methodist Church. She played piano and sang in the choir.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Robert; a daughter, Carol Sue Koehler of Evansville; three sons, Robert Lee of St. Louis, James Alan of Evansville and Daniel Joseph of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren, Kurt and Karen Koehler, James, Stephen, Jill and Thomas Schellhase; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Browning Funeral Home, the Rev. Randy Anderson officiating, with burial in Oak Hill cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Gabriel Miller
TELL CITY, Ind. — Gabriel L. Miller, 84, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Scenic Hills Health Care Center in Ferdinand.
He retired as plant manager in 1991 from Coca-Cola Bottlers in Tell City, after 48 years.
He was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church and the Moose 1424. He served on the board of the former Camp Koch for Crippled Children.
Surviving are four daughters, Betty James of Mount Pleasant, Jane Heeke of New Boston, Cathy Frizzell of Tell City and Lisa Newton of Newburgh; five sons, Darrell Lee of Evansville, James of Mobara City, Japan, Charles of Rochester Hills, Mich., and Bruce of Toledo, Ohio; a sister, Dorothy Burke of Mishawaka; 23 grandchildren, Cindy Zellers, Lori Hermann, Alexia Hartman, Christopher and Brian James, Dawn Mullen, Diane Sturgeon, Anita Borden, Melissa, Kristina and Mandy Heeke, Matthew and Megan Frizzell, Jeremy, Zachary, Joshua, Jeff, Michael, Darrell Jr., Jason, Kyle and Courtney Miller and Katrina Newton; and 12 great-grandchildren. His wife, Dortha (Findley), died in 1994.
Services will be at 10 a.m. EST Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Moose Lodge memorial service, and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Huber Funeral Home.

Barbara Bontrager
MONTGOMERY, Ind. — Barbara Ann Bontrager, 90, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Eastgate Manor Nursing Center.
She was an Amish.
Surviving are her husband, John M.; two daughters, Sylvia and Betty Marner, both of rural Montgomery; six sons, Leroy, Glenn, Harold and Raymond Lengacher, all of rural Montgomery, Joseph Jr. and Edwin Lengacher, both of rural Odon; a sister, Lizzie Swartzentruber of rural Montgomery; 42 grandchildren; and 92 great-grandchildren.
Her first husband, Joseph Lengacher, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 9 a.m. today at the Lester Marner home, with burial in Stoll cemetery.
David Haller
JASPER, Ind. — David “Joe” Haller, 54, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at his home of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
He had worked as a carpenter for Mid-West Construction Co. in Evansville.
Surviving are three sons, Mark of Evansville, Matthew of Cincinnati and Aaron of Jasper; three sister, Mary Shawley of Napa, Calif., Margaret Claus of Washington, Ind., and Donna Tielker of Fort Wayne; a brother, Hilbert of Jasper; and a grandson, Kyle Johnson.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. EST Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in Fairview cemetery.

Ludwina Eisenhauer
ST. WENDEL, Ind. — Ludwina (Lee) Eisenhauer, 83, formerly of St. Wendel, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at the home of her daughter, Joan Eisenhauer in Phoenix.
Also surviving are three daughters, Marilyn Zipperich and Margie Matinez, both of Peoria, Ariz., and Shirley Martinez of Oakland Park, Ill.; a son, Robert of Sullivan; two sisters, Sally Barrett of Evansville and Eloise Conen of Haubstadt; five brothers, Edward, Oscar, Clinton and Ralph Koester, all of St.Wendel, and Leon Koester of Boonville; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Her husband, Ted, preceded her in death.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. at St. Wendel Catholic Church. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to service time at the church.

Phyllis Dzienny
BICKNELL, Ind. — Phyllis Eve Dzienny, 84, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Bicknell Rehabilitation Center.
She retired from Prestolite and was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Vincennes.
Surviving are a son, Mike of Bicknell; and a granddaughter, Vannessa Dzienny of Evansville.
Her husband, Harry, died in 1992.
There will be no public service or visitation at McClure Funeral Home.
Harold Bundy
MOUNT VERNON, Ind. — Harold L. Bundy, 77, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Mount Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of cardiac arrest.
He had been an auto mechanic at Art Hall & Moll Motor Co. for 40 years. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Bethesda General Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Margaret Anne (Shelton); two daughters, Patricia Axton of Indianapolis and Connie Bland of Mount Vernon; a sister, Ellen Fleming of Mount Vernon; two brothers, Paul and Bill, both of Mount Vernon; and two grandchildren, John DeFur and Michelle Sollman. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda DeFur.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Tygart Funeral Home, with burial in Beech Grove cemetery.

Ann Wilderman
HAUBSTADT, Ind. — Ann L. (Meuser) Wilderman, 63, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at her home of cancer.
She had worked at Morris Plan, Southern Indiana Gas & Electric Co. CONTEL, and the Farmers and Merchants Bank.
She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Haubstadt and the Altar Society and volunteered at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Robert J. “Bob”; three daughters, Connie Dunning of Fort Branch, Karen Crocker and Kathy Kingsbury, both of Haubstadt; five sons, Rick of Haubstadt, Steve, Tim, Tom and Keith, all of Evansville; two sisters, Donna Meuser of Princeton and Letitia Simpson of Jasper; brothers, Max of Jasper and John of Three Springs, Pa.; and 15 grandchildren, Suzy, Jamie and Becky Dunning, Leah and Cory Crocker, Jason and Kelly Kingsbury, Jennifer, Carrie, Nikki, Claire, Elizabeth, Allie and Andrew Wilderman and Jessie Garvin.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church, with burial pending.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch.

Pansy Sims
WINSLOW, Ind. — Pansy L. Sims, 84, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Amber Manor Nursing Home in Petersburg.
She was a member of Winslow United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Lyndon; a daughter, Linda Curtis of Princeton; two sons, Charles of Evansville and Gregg of Winslow; three grandchildren;
four stepgrandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. EST Friday at Curtis Funeral Home, with burial in Pleasant Ridge cemetery.

Margaret Polster
SANTA CLAUS, Ind. — Margaret Polster, 89, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Deaconess St. Joseph Hospital in Huntingburg.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the World War I Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Santa Claus Senior Citizens and St. John’s Ladies Aid.
Surviving are two sisters, Meta Wittman of Lamar and Hulda Zander of Fort Wayne; and nieces.
Her first husband, Gustave Schmicker, died in 1931, her second husband, Herman Polster, died in 1979 and a daughter, Mary Lois Schmicker, died in 1941.
Services will be 10 a.m.CST Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Evanston, Ind., with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Youngblood Funeral Home in Chrisney and from 9 a.m. to service time at the church.

Ronald Welp
HUNTINGBURG, Ind. — Ronald L. Welp, 57, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville of congestive heart failure.
He retired as a supervisor for Dubois Wood Products and was serving on the Patoka Township trustee advisory board.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Young Men’s Institute, Jasper Moose and was past president of the Huntingburg Eagles.
Surviving are two daughters, Amy Marley and Debbie Combs, both of Huntingburg; three sons, Perry of Ferdinand, and Joe and Marty, both of Huntingburg; his mother, Marie Welp of Birdseye; a sister, Pat Henke of Birdseye and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, with burial in Schnellville Sacred Heart Church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. EST today at Nass and Son Funeral Home, with a memorial service at 6:30 p.m.
