Eva Criswell
Eva M. Criswell, 89, formerly of Evansville, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon, Ind.
She retired from Arkla Inc. in Evansville.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Buckskin, Ind., and the AARP.
Surviving are three sisters, Fern Taylor and Christine Feller, both of Corydon, and Marie McCrary of Oklahoma City.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. EDT Tuesday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon, with graveside services at 3 p.m. CST in St. John’s United Church of Christ cemetery in Buckskin, the Rev. John Motz officiating.
Friends may call from 2:30 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Carolyn Jones
Carolyn M. Jones, 61, of Evansville, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of cancer.
She attended the Jacksonville School of the Deaf.
Surviving are her husband, Arlester; two sons, Eugene of Indianapolis and Walter of Evansville; two sisters, JoAnne Tillman and Judith Beasley, both of Peoria, Ill.; five grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.

Joseph Correia
Joseph T. Correia, 78, formerly of Evansville, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at his home in Lyman, S.C.
He retired in 1987 from Beverage Air Co.
He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and a World War II and Korean War veteran.
He was a graduate of North High School in Akron, Ohio, and attended Akron University.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia (Wirth); two daughters, Linda Stanec of Wadsworth, Ohio, and Susan Churchill of Greenville, S.C.; a brother, Edward of Miami; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Spartanburg, S.C., the Rev. Michael R. DeAntonio officiating.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel in Spartanburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Special Needs Fund or to the church building fund.
Carolyn Huffman
Carolyn Sue (Gentry) Huffman, 62, formerly of Evansville, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, in St. Louis.
Surviving are her husband, Don; three daughters, Kim Laughlin and Kelly Huffman, both of St. Louis, and Kristin Huffman of Washington D.C.; her twin sister, Phyllis Merchant of Evansville; and five grandchildren, Kyle, Sean and Connor Laughlin and Madison and Parker Lotstein.
Memorial services will be at at 3:00 p.m. Monday at North Friendship General Baptist Church in Lynnville, Ind.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Unity Health Hospice Patient Care in Earth City, Mo.
Cisto Rios
HUNTINGBURG, Ind. — Cisto Rios, 25, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at Deaconess St. Joseph’s Hospital Emergency Room of gunshot wounds.
Surviving are his parents, Herminia Vazquez and Paulin Frausto of Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico; a sister, Patricia Zuniga of Jasper; and a brother, Davie Salinas of Jasper.
There will be no visitation or services at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Funeral services and burial will be held in Torreon.
William Miller
ROCKPORT, Ind. — William R. Miller, 88, died Friday, April 21, 2000, at Miller’s Health System.
He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 44 years.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Rockport Masonic Lodge 112, Eastern Star, Odd Fellows, Scottish Rite Valley of Evansville, Hadi Shrine, York Rite, State and National Rural Letter Carriers and the North American Ventriloquists. He was also a charter member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Ring 56, Grand Encampment of Knights Templar, a Kentucky Colonel, an official Santa’s Helper, helped start the Little League and performed in the movie “The Kentuckian.”
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Louise; two daughters, Rita Robinson and Patricia Dawson, both of Rockport; a son, Randy of Elkhart; a brother, Charles of Fort Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren, Charles and Cara Robinson, Ronald and Michael Dawson, Cynthia Shelton and Randa and Devin Miller; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Hill cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m., and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association, Spencer County Hospice or to Trinity United Methodist Church.
Harvey Candler Sr.
VINCENNES, Ind. — Harvey L. Candler Sr., 80, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at his home.
He worked for the Department of Agriculture as a technician and was a member of the George Field Fire Department during World War II.
He was a member of the Indiana Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Doris Cockrum of Mount Carmel, Ill., and Sandra Frederick of Cleveland, Tenn.; four sons, Harvey Jr. of New Port Richey, Fla., Larry and Ronnie, both of Vincennes, and Randy of Indianapolis; two half sisters, Mary Chamnes and Katherine Evans, both of Vincennes; a half brother, Junior Eaton of Vincennes; 21 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
His wife, Ellen, died in 1996.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with burial in Royal Oak cemetery.

Florence Chappell
BOONVILLE, Ind. — Florence R. Chappell, 84, died Friday, April 21, 2000, at Angel River Health & Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh.
She worked at Boonville Embassy Manufacturing Corp.
She attended Main Street General Baptist Church and was a Pink Lady at St. Mary’s Warrick Hospital in Boonville.
Surviving are nieces and nephews, including niece Phyllis Greenlee of Boonville, who cared for her.
Her husband, Carl, died in 1974.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bradley Colonial Chapel, with burial in Mapel Grove cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8:30 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Arthur Ruhe
FERDINAND, Ind. — Arthur G. Ruhe, 71, died Friday, April 21, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville of cancer.
He was chairman of the board for Mobel Inc. furniture factory.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Sodality and co-founder of the Ferdinand Little League program.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Karen Ruhe of Cleveland, Tenn., and Connie Dilger of Ferdinand; two sons, Stan of Jasper and Paul of Ferdinand; a sister, Cyrilla Lamkin of Ferdinand; three brothers, Joe of Jasper, Vince of Tucson, Ariz., and Pat of Huntingburg; and four grandchildren, Ashley and Phil Ruhe and Red and Daniel Dilger.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Kay Ruhe.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ferdinand Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday, with a prayer service at 6 p.m., at Becher Funeral Home.

Patricia Albert
FERDINAND, Ind. — Patricia E. Albert, 66, died Friday, April 21, 2000, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Huntingburg of heart failure.
She retired from Aristokraft.
She attended the Academy of Immaculate Conception.
Surviving are her husband, Ralph; two daughters, Trudy Altman and Jackie McCune, both of Ferdinand; a sister, Ardella Lohmeier of Ferdinand; two brothers, Renus “Amos” and Stanley Leinenbach, both of Ferdinand; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Ferdinand Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Hazel Solliday
WASHINGTON, Ind. — Hazel Marie Solliday, 87, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Indianapolis.
She was a retired sales person at Diana Dress Shop and G.C. Murphy Store.
She was a member of Central Christian Church, Eastern Star 210 and the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are a daughter, Geraldine Kennedy of Indianapolis; two sons, William J. and Kenneth C., both of Washington; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Gill Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Grove cemetery.
