Alvin VanBibber
Alvin R. VanBibber, 76, of Evansville, died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at St. Mary’s Health Care Services/Welborn Campus of heart failure.
He worked for Industrial Contractors as an electrician.
He was a member of Lessing Masonic Lodge 464, the Scottish Rite and Hadi Shrine, where he was a former member of the hospital staff.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
Surviving are his former wife, Wilma F. of Evansville; two daughters, Teresa VanBibber of Lynnville, Ind., and Regina Kinsey of Evansville; four sons, Steve of Boonville and Gary, Paul and Allen, all of Evansville; two sisters, Betty Winstead of Louisville, Ky., and Colleen of Florida; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
There will be no visitation or services at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hadi Shrine Temple.
Grace Frasier
Grace Ola (Wilson) Frasier, 83, of Evansville, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at her home.
She was Methodist and enjoyed gardening and quilting.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Matheis of Evansville and Debbie Herron of Batavia, Ill.; three sons, Lacy Merle of Mesa, Ariz., and Dewey and Ben, both of Evansville; two sisters, Thelma Jenkins of Evansville and Zelpha Wilson of Calhoun, Ky.; a brother, Gene Wilson of Owensboro, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Lacy, died in 1987.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, the Rev. Bob Simpkins officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Gordon Morgan
BRISTOW, Ind. — Gordon “Eddie” Morgan, 58, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at his home of pulmonary fibrosis.
He worked for the Perry County Highway Department as an operator.
He was a member of Bristow Christian Church, Branchville Masonic Lodge 496 and the River City Bass Masters.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Charlotte; a daughter, Deanna Schutzlus of Huffman; a son, Gordon “Hoagie” of Leopold; three sisters, Loretta Hensley of Eckerty, Kathleen Terry of Westfork and Carolyn Hurm of Fulda; four brothers, Virgil L. of Jasper, William of Beechwood, Charles of Birdseye and Carroll of Selvin; and two grandchildren, Brittney and Brandon Schutzlus.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda Rene Morgan.
Services will be at 11 a.m. EST Friday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City, with burial in Bristow City cemetery in Bristow.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m., and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Raymond Eberhard
BOONVILLE, Ind. — Raymond L. Eberhard, 81, died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.
He retired in 1980 from Peabody Coal Co. after 33 years and was a 50-year member of the United Mine Workers of America.
He was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church, Boonville American Legion Post 200 and a life member of Boonville Veterans of Foreign Wars 4318. He was also a life member of the Knights of Columbus and organized the St. Clement Council 10257 in 1991.
He was an Air Force veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Virginia; two daughters, Peggy Waddell of Roseville, Mich., and Theresa Williams of Houston; a son, Joe of Alpharetta, Ga.; and five grandchildren, Kimberly Russell, Joe Waddell and Matthew, Carrie and Sarah Williams.
Services will be at 9:45 a.m. Friday at Bradley’s Colonial Chapel, continuing at 10 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church, with burial in Maple Grove cemetery, with military rites.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 8 p.m., and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or to the St. Clement Church Building Fund.
Virginia Woodall
VINCENNES, Ind. — Virginia J. Woodall, 65, died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at Good Samaritan Hospital of heart failure.
She was a member of the Chauncey, Ill., Church of God and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are three daughters, Jacquelyn Rich of Flat Rock, Ill., Kim Norris of Lawrenceville, Ill., and Andrea Eaves of Vincennes; three sons, Richard and Monty Murphy, both of Washington, and Jeff Murphy of Noble, Ill.; two sisters, Della Rickard of Vincennes and Nedrya Williams of Lawrenceville; three brothers, James, Paul and Delbert Cogswell, all of Texas; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at a later date.

Louis Bender
HUNTINGBURG, Ind. — Louis E. Bender, 67, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at his home of lung cancer. He retired
from manufacturing at Kimball International.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg, the Y.M.I. Club, Holy Name Society and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was a Korean War Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Betty J.; five daughters, Rebecca Polen of Evansville, Linda S. Reisz and Karen M. Boyd, both of Huntingburg, Sharon K. Hoffman of Santa Claus and Brenda L. Kramer of Ferdinand; three sons, Gary E. and Rick L., both of Huntingburg, and Douglas S. of Ferdinand; three sisters, Irene Egloff and Anna Lee Voges, both of Ferdinand, and Elenor Harpenau of Chrisney; six brothers, Urban of Bluffton, Larry of Ferdinand, Joe of Indianapolis, Werner Jr. of Jasper, John of St. Meinrad and David of St. Anthony; 18 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. EST Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg, with burial in the church cemetery, with military rites.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, with a rosary prayer service at 5 p.m., at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg.

Brian Cooper
JASPER, Ind. — Brian J. Cooper, 35, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, of injuries sustained while working at the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Jasper.
He was a member of the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department and a First Responder.
He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars 673, American Legion Post 147, Jasper Knights of Columbus, Jasper Moose Lodge 1175, Indiana District 18 Volunteer Firemen’s Association, the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Club and ABATE.
He was a Navy veteran, serving in the Persian Gulf.
Surviving are his wife, Deb; a stepson, Nick Heichelbech, at home; his parents, Ken and Rita Cooper of Jasper; a sister, Brenda Cooper of Birdseye; a stepbrother, Ryan Cooper of Lamar; and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. EST Saturday at Precious Blood Catholic Church, with burial in Fairview cemetery, with military rites.
Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m., with a rosary at 3 p.m. and a firefighter’s memorial service at 7 p.m., Friday at Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home North Chapel.

Clarence Berg
ST. ANTHONY, Ind. — Clarence J. Berg, 80, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
He owned and operated Berg’s Garage in St. Anthony, retiring in 1978 after 30 years, and drove a school bus for the Southeast School Corp. for 30 years. He was a former fire chief and member of the St. Anthony Fire Department for 34 years.
He also served on the Dubois County Bank Advisory Board and the St. Anthony Water Utilities Advisory Board.
He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, St. Anthony Conservation Club, St. Anthony Community Center and the Senior Citizens.
Surviving are his wife, Frieda; a daughter, Mary Frey of Huntingburg; four sons, Larry, Charles, Tom and Richard, all of St. Anthony; a sister, Rosie Persohn of St. Anthony; a brother, William J. of St. Anthony; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Ann Berg.
Services will be at 10 a.m. EST Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Edith Hardwick
BICKNELL, Ind. — Edith Blanche Hardwick, 91, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at Lodge of the Wabash in Vincennes.
She worked at Dixie Orchard and local restaurants.
She was a member of Bicknell United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the Ladies Quilting Group, Sunday School Class 23 and the Methodist Women.
Surviving are two daughters, Avis Lynn of Bicknell and Niki Hoke of Carlisle; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Her husband, Herbert, died in 1971.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. EST Friday at Bicknell United Methodist Church, with burial in Bicknell Memorial cemetery.

R. Paul Eagleson
VINCENNES, Ind. — R. Paul Eagleson, 90, died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.
He was self-employed as an auto mechanic and worked at Kixmiller Garage. He retired from Vincennes Auto Parts.
Surviving are two sons, Jerry and Roy Joseph, both of Vincennes; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
His wife, Ruth (Hill), died in 1998.
Services will be at 10 a.m. EST Friday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with burial in Memorial Park cemetery.
