Lucille Lawrence
BIRDSEYE, Ind. — Lucille Lawrence, 79, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at St. Joseph Hospital in Huntingburg from congestive heart failure.
She attended the Community Chapel of Eckerty.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Lee Atkins of Birdseye; three sons, Donald of Ferdinand, James of Birdseye and Charles of Oakland City; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Ivan, died in 1994.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Nass & Son funeral Home in Huntingburg, with burial in the Birdseye cemetery.
Cora Riley
PRINCETON, Ind. — Cora L. Riley, 78, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999, at Gibson General Hospital.
She had been an inspector at Potter & Brumfield in Princeton, retiring in 1976, and was a member of Clark’s Chapel General Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are three sons, George L. of Mackey, Jack of Princeton and John of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home, with burial in Providence cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm. today and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Henry Lang Jr.
MOUNT VERNON, Ind. — Henry A. P. Lang Jr., 81, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at his home.
He was a farmer and had been a mechanic at Eilert Farm Equipment Co. from 1936 to 1942.
As a boy he drove a steam engine for his dad, pulling two threshing rigs and pulled a separator to farms in the Harmony Township area.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Future Farmers of America and honorary member of the Conservation Club.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Bertha Marie (Bayer); two daughters, Judith Heberer and Mary Ann Lang, both of Mount Vernon; a son, William E. of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Elfrieda Lang and Augusta McClure, both of Evansville; seven grandchildren, Thomas E. and John W. Lang, Donise Stahl, Donell Walton, Donett May and Matthew and Elizabeth Billman; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Church of Christ, burial in St. John’s cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Norvell Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church or the Mount Vernon Chapter of the FFA.
Joyce Land
PRINCETON, Ind. — Joyce Fay Land, 84, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999, at her home. She was born in Australia.
Surviving are a daughter, Dawn Catt of Owensville; a brother, Warren Land of Princeton; two granddaughters, Stephanie Wallace and Liberty Catt; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, James O. “Ikey, ’ died in 1993.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Colvin Funeral Home, with burial in Columbia White Church cemetery.

Henry Jackman
WASHINGTON, Ind. — Henry Gilmore Jackman, 85, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at Daviess Community Hospital.
He retired from Uni-Royal Corp. as a maintenance worker and was president of Local Union 339 of the United Rubber Workers.
He was a member of the Central Christian Church, Moose Lodge and Eagles.
Surviving are two daughters, Judy Perkins of Washington and Linda Young of Princeton; a brother, Ernest of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
His wife, Virginia Ruth (Williams); died in 1976.
Services will be at 2 pm. Wednesday at Gill Funeral Home, with burial in New Veale Creek cemetery.

Otterbein Byers
BOONVILLE, Ind. — Otterbein Byers, 81, formerly of Tennyson, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at St. Mary’s Warrick.
He was a farmer and retired as a mechanic from the State Highway Department in Dale.
He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in France, England and Scotland, and was the recipient of a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3418 in Boonville.
He was a member of the Little Zion General Baptist Church in Tennyson and had served as the trustee of the church cemetery.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Dorothy; three daughters, Joyce Harris of Boonville, Betty Gossar of Beechmont, Ky., and Sandra Lord of Smyrna, Tenn.; a step brother, Arthur Corn of Boonville; eight grandchildren, Donna, Lance Cpl. Donald Jr. and Kenny Gossar, C.J. and Cody Broshears and Jimmie, Jeremy and Amanda Harris; five stepgrandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Little Zion General Baptist Church in Tennyson, with burial in the church cemetery, with military rites conducted by VFW Post 3418.
Friends may call from 12:30 to 8 p.m. today at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel and from 9 a.m. to funeral time at the church.

Gayle Ziliak
Gayle E. (Waelde) Ziliak, 58, of Evansville, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital of cancer. She was a registered nurse for 25 years at Deaconess Hospital, where she worked 10 years in the emergency room and 15 years in the pediatrics unit.
She was also a volunteer at the Deaconess Resource Center.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet Hancock and Cindy Cooper, both of Evansville; a son, Darrin of Evansville; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Houchin.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Joe Foster officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Lawrence Clayton
Lawrence E. Clayton, 77, of Evansville, died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at Woodland Convalescent Center of cancer.
He retired from Arkla-Preway in 1976 after 30 years.
He was Catholic and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars 1114.
He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran.
He enjoyed fishing.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Mary L.; two daughters, Linda Pfingston of Yankeetown, Ind., and Connie Prince of Florida; three sons, Lawrence Jr. of Chandler, Ind., and Jerry and Leslie, both of Evansville; a brother, Andrew of Newburgh; 14 grandchildren, Lisa Lee, Brian Collins, Kendra Kemp, Dutch, Junior and Chris Prince, Danny Pfingston, Angela Underhill, Larry III, Jeff, Derek and Melissa Clayton, Tammy Becker and Janet Wright; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, the Rev. Charles Gordon officiating, with burial in Bates Hill cemetery in Yankeetown, Ind., with military rites.

Bobby Carey
Bobby G. Carey, 58, of Evansville, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at St. Mary’s Health Care Services/Welborn Campus of cancer.
He retired from the Evansville State Hospital after 18 years.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Evansville Gun Club and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, trap shooting and gun collecting.
He was a disabled Navy veteran and received his master’s degrees in psychology and sociology from Indiana State University.
Surviving are his wife of 14 years, JoAnn (Sisco); two sons, Brian A. of Newburgh and Bret A. of Bremervorde, Germany; two sisters, Jackie Mercer of Newburgh and Sherry Kitzinger of Evansville; three brothers, Charles J. Carey and Donald and Rick Darling, all of Evansville; three grandchildren, Brandi, Cameron and Brian Carey; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Henry L. Kuykendall officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.

Jane Richardt
Jane Ethel Richardt, 73, formerly of Evansville, died Monday, March 27, 2000, at St. Mary’s Health Center in St. Louis of congestive heart failure.
She retired as a medical stenographer.
She was a member of Our Lady Sodality.
Surviving are a daughter, Cheryl Johnson of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a son, Richard of Roswell, Ga.; two sisters, Patricia Schnepper of Tampa, Fla., and Beverly Caine of Evansville; two brothers, Don Schnepper of Evansville and Ronald Schnepper of Largo, Fla.; two grandchildren, Kristen and Matthew; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, continuing at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with burial in St. Joseph cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, with a rosary at 5:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
