Joyce Likens
Bonita Joyce Likens, 66, of Evansville, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at her home of heart failure.
She retired from National City Bank in 1992, after 23 years.
She was a Bosse High School graduate.
Surviving are her husband of 21 years, Bill; a son, Danny of Evansville; her mother, Eulean Siess of Oklahoma City; a brother, Tom Siess of Grand Junction, Colo.; and a granddaughter, Penny.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel, the Rev. Terry Gamblin officiating, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel.

Miriam Nenneker
Miriam Rachel Nenneker, 92, of Evansville, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at her home.
She was a graduate of Welborn School of Nursing.
She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Evansville, past member of the Optimist & Opti-Mrs., Daughters of the American Revolution, Central Turners Club, numerous duplicate bridge clubs and Delphi 20.
Surviving are two daughters, Suzanne Happe and Sarah Flener, both of Evansville; four grandchildren, Melanie Wessel, Melissa Happe, Marcia Minor and Jeffrey Flener; five great-grandchildren; and a friend who cared for her for 13 years in her home, Mamie B. Harte.
Her husband, Harold, died in 1989.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel and from 9 a.m. to service time at the memorial chapel.

Russell Scott Jr.
Russell E. Scott Jr., 74, formerly of Newburgh, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, of pneumonia at the Red Banks Nursing Home in Henderson, Ky.
He was the owner and operator of Scott Boiler and Burner Service.
He was a World War II Marine veteran, serving in the Pacific.
He was a member of the Vann Avenue Baptist Church and enjoyed duck hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law who cared for him, Gail and Danny Hagan of Corydon, Ky.; two sons, Stuart R. of Evansville and Mark A. of Clovis, N.M.; two sisters, Dorothy Henrich and Betty Schmidt, both of Newburgh; a brother, Jack of Newburgh; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
His wife, Anna M., died in 1994.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Mark A. Scott officiating, with burial in Park Lawn cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Verna Goodner
Verna Lea Goodner, 93, formerly of Evansville, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, in Palm Garden Nursing Home in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth B. of Rockport, Texas, and James S. of West Palm Beach; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Douglas Goodner; and two great-granddaughters.
Ninde Woodland Memorial Chapel in Tulsa, Okla., is handling arrangements.
Mary David
Mary K. David, 88, formerly of Evansville, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999, at Friends Fellowship Community Center in Richmond, Ind.
She taught for 20 years at Howard Roosa Elementary School, retiring in 1972 and had taught at Defiance College and at Shurtleff College, where she served as dean of women.
She was a graduate of Earlham College, received her master’s degree from Bryn Mawr in 1932 and spent three summers doing graduate work at the University of Wisconsin.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Richmond and the First Presbyterian Church in Evansville, Evansville and Indiana teachers sssociations, Delta Kappa Gamma Society and was a former member of Tri Kappa and Alpha Psi Omega sororities.
After retiring she worked as a volunteer in the Welborn Hospital Auxiliary in Evansville and had been a Red Cross volunteer at Reid Hospital.
Surviving are a son, John of Columbia, Mo.; a sister, Ruth Chambers of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, J. Richard Kemper of Fort Myers, Fla.; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Wade D., preceded her in death.
Memorial services are pending at the Ruth Lindeman Chapel in Richmond, with burial in Lutherania cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wade D. and Mary K. David Scholarship Fund of the University of Evansville or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Aline Rosenberry
Aline D. Rosenberry, 79, of Newburgh, formerly of Boonville, Ind., died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center.
She had worked at the Goebel Furniture Co. and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1114 Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandy Utley of Boonville and Becky Sheeley of Henderson, Ky.; two sisters, Bennie Darnell and Dolores Higgs, both of Evansville; a brother, Harry Mull of Evansville; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, William H., died in 1990.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Dennis Davenport officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.

Sylvia Ward
WASHINGTON, Ind. — Sylvia Ward, 90, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at Washington Nursing Center. She was born in Russia.
She was a member of the Eastern Star in Chicago.
Her husband, George N., died in 1981.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Bethany cemetery.

Thelma McBride
WASHINGTON, Ind. — Thelma Marie McBride, 87, of Plainfield, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at Eastgate Manor Nursing Center.
She had worked at the Daviess County auditor’s office and at the Washington Credit Bureau, where she worked for 13 years.
She was a 50-year member of Elnora Eastern Star, member of the Friendly Circle Homemakers Club and Daviess County Republican Ladies Club. She had been Steele Township vice-precinct committee person and secretary of Plainville cemetery Association.
She was a 1931 graduate of Plainville High School and member of the Plainville Christian Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Janet Goodwin of Washington; a son, Robert Arnold of Plainville; two sisters, Dorothy Thomas of Washington and Billie Nelson of Chandler; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Plainville Christian Church, with private graveside services in the Plainville cemetery.

Deborah Shewmaker
MOUNT VERNON, Ind. — Deborah Hart Shewmaker, 45, of Norris City, Ill., formerly of Mount Vernon, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, of a cerebral aneurysm at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
She worked at the Wabash Memorial Bridge in Mount Vernon for 16 years.
She was a graduate of Reitz High School in Evansville.
Surviving are her husband, Glendell of Norris City; a daughter, Kristina Hart of Mount Vernon; a son, Keith Hart Jr. of Mount Vernon; her parents, Donald and Shirley (Paceley) Anderson of Lynnville; two sisters, Donna Kelley of Lynnville and Doris Hughes of Boonville; a brother, Donald R. Anderson of Evansville; and a grandson, Damon Hart.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Norris City, Ill., with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery in Norris City.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Boone Funeral Home Mount Vernon Chapel and from 9 a.m. to service time at the church.

Alva Sibbitt Sr.
FORT BRANCH, Ind., — Alva Leon Sibbitt Sr., 80, of Paoli, father of Michael H. of Fort Branch, died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, in the Orange County Hospital.
He had been a livestock dealer and had worked with the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
He was a World War II Army veteran and member of Masonic Lodge 119.
He attended the Paoli Friends Meeting.
Also surviving are his wife, Beatrice; a son Alva Leon Jr. of Paoli; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were at Kemple-Dillman-Ellis Funeral Home in Paoli, with burial in the Paoli Community cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hoosier Upland Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
