Lowell Seifert
Lowell W. Seifert, 79, of Evansville, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at St. Mary’s Health Care Services/Welborn Campus of cancer.
He retired from Whirlpool Corp. in 1975 and was a member of the Whirlpool Management Club.
He was a World War II Army veteran and member of the Elks, Eagles and Kennel Club.
Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Shirley.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Ted Tempel officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Larry Dillbeck
Larry Dillbeck, 50, of Evansville, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at St. Mary’s Health Care Services/Welborn Campus from injuries received in an automobile accident at U.S. 41 and Washington Avenue.
He was a Vietnam War Army veteran.
Surviving are his son, Troy of Savannah, Ga.; three brothers, Ricky of Evansville, and Frank and Chuck, both of Massachusetts; and nieces and nephews.
There will be no services or visitation at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Lionel Libbert
Lionel John Libbert, 89, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Newburgh, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
He had worked with the federal government for 40 years in payroll accounting, auditing, real estate management and disposal, He was the recipient of the Meritorious Achievement Award for outstanding performance in converting payroll accounting from manual to machine operation.
He was elder emeritus and member of the board of the Kenwood Heights Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Ruth; a daughter, Jeri Barnstable of Louisville; a sister, Kathryn L. Freels of Evansville; a brother, Charles Pershing Libbert of Holland, Mich.; and two grandchildren, Sherri Steiber and Charles Henne.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Nunnelley Funeral Home in Louisville, with burial in Rest Haven cemetery.
Delores Bishop
Delores V. Bishop, 93, of Evansville, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at the McCurdy Healthcare Center.
She was a member of the L&N; Railroad Ladies Auxiliary, the First Baptist Church, Eastern Star, and White Shrine.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Delores Reuter of Evansville; three sons, Dr. James R. of Evansville, George William of Buford, S.C., and Patrick Charles of Elkhart, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Jacob Edward, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.

Edgar Brown
Edgar L. Brown, 81, of Evansville, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at his home.
He retired from Whirlpool Corp. as a press operator.
He was a World War II Army veteran, recipient of a Purple Heart and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was a member of the North Park Baptist Church and former member of the Haymakers.
Surviving are two brothers, Murice of Morgantown, Ky., and Ralph of Drakesboro, Ky.; a granddaughter, Louise Smith-McDonald; and great-grandchildren.
His wife, Pearl, died in 1987.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, the Rev. Arthur E. Christmas officiating, with burial in Memorial Park cemetery, with military rites.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Sister Mary Messmer
Sister Mary Gerald Messmer, 78, formerly of Evansville, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Our Lady of Grace Monastery in Beech Grove, Ind.
She had taught school, from 1951 to 1964 in several locations, including St. Benedict in Evansville, in Boonville, Ind., Rockport, Ind., and had been the food service supervisor at St. Paul Heritage in Beech Grove for 26 years, retiring in 1990.
Surviving are six sisters, Sister Mary Carol Messmer of Beech Grove, Clara Boeckman of Ferdinand, Roberta Weyer of Ireland, Therese Paulin of Siberia, Carol Stedfeldt of Hayesville, and Jeanne Hefner of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and two brothers, Peter and Gerald Messmer, both of Jasper.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Grace Monastery, with burial in Our Lady of Grace cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 p.m. to service time at the monastery.
Little & Sons Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Sue Bowen
Sue Frances Bowen, 85, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
She was a member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Janet Weed of Evansville; a son, James McGrail of Baskett, Ky.; a sister, Gertrude Hall of Evansville; a brother, Tilman Clark of Arkansas; eight grandchildren, James Jr. and Mike McGrail, Robert, Richard and Jeremy Hart, Laura Braddam, Lisa Coyne and Jimmi Weed; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Her first husband, James McGrail, died in 1949 and her second, Herbert Bowen, in 1986.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Robert A. Nall officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park.

Leah Ruckman
Leah Margaret Ruckman, 81, of Evansville, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Deaconess Hospital.
Surviving are two daughters, Peggy Barkwill of Winter Park, Fla., and Becky Boggs of Mount Vernon, Ind.; a son, Jim of St. Albans, W.Va.; a brother, Jim Wilson of St. Mary, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nephews.
Services will be in St. Marys, W.Va. Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
William Sanders
William Francis “Bill” Sanders, 86, of Evansville, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Deaconess Hospital.
He was a welder for Wayne Supply and a member of Bible Center Cathedral.
Surviving are a daughter, Grace E. Fisher of Evansville; three sons, William “Bill” Jr. of Mount Carmel, Ill., James “Jim” of Evansville and Frederick “Freddie”; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
His wife, Virginia, died in 1979.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.

Darwin Short
OWENSVILLE, Ind. — Darwin M. Short, 60, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Gibson General Hospital from a heart attack.
He was an Army veteran.
He taught adult Bible class at the First General Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Louise (France); and a niece and nephew.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holder Funeral Home, with burial in Owensville cemetery.

Edward Parker Sr.
TELL CITY, Ind. — Edward D. Parker Sr., 55, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at his home of cancer.
He retired in 1999 from Indiana-Michigan Power in Rockport after 30 years as an equipment operator. He was a Vietnam War Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Marilyn (Jewell); two sons, Edward D. Jr. of Evansville and George of Indianapolis; his mother, Clara Mae Lindsey of Rockwood, Tenn.; seven sisters, Patricia Shane of Langsville, Lynn McCullough and Melanie Herrin, both of Rockwood, Tammy Kellogg of Denver, Colo., Judy Hendricks of Canoe, Texas, Melody Fellows of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Lisa Lindsey of Atlanta; two brothers, Jerry Goen of Oak Harbor, Wash., and David Miles of Albuquerque, N.M.; and a granddaughter, Abigail Parker.
An infant daughter, Maria, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Wednesday at Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood cemetery, with military rites.
