Patricia Rager
Patricia A. Rager, 64, of Evansville, died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at Cypress Grove Nursing & Rehabilitation of cancer.
In 1995, she retired from the Vanderburgh County Welfare Department.
She bowled in the Monday Night Arc Angels, Wednesday Morning Women’s League at Arc Bowling Lanes and she was a member of the Women’s International Bowling Congress.
Surviving are her stepmother, Jennavine Lupton of Indianapolis; two stepsisters, Margaret Currie of Indianapolis and Marilyn Flynn of South Bend, Ind.; and nieces and a nephew.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. James T. Heady officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Charles Simpson
Charles Simpson, 79, of Newburgh, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
He had been a farmer and bricklayer and had worked as a superintendent at Peyronnin Construction Co. for 20 years, retiring from Simpson Construction Co. in 1985.
He was a member of International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers Local 4 in Indiana and Kentucky.
He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, serving at the Panama Canal.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Newburgh.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Edna Kathryn; three daughters, Brenda Meyer of Evansville, Cheryl Grimm of Newburgh and Shawn Dotson of Tell City, Ind.; a brother, David C. Loyd Simpson of Skowhegan, Maine; and three grandchildren, Angela Dawn Sprinkle, Emily Larren Grimm and Nathan Charles Dotson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Simpson Funeral Home Newburgh Chapel, the Rev. David Lee officiating, with burial in Lynnville cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
John Eades
John C. Eades, 77, of Linden, Ind., brother of Mary Schiff of Evansville, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
He owned and operated Eades Excavating, retiring in 1980, after 40 years.
He was a member of the Linden Baptist Church and a volunteer at the Railroad Museum in Linden.
Also surviving are three sisters, Alice Mayes of Chandler, Ind., Gertrude Dunning of South Carrollton, Ky., and Reva May Kittinger of Sacramento, Ky.
His wife, Martha L. (Stull), died in 1990.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel in West Lafayette, Ind.
Ian McKinney
Ian Russ McKinney, 17, of Evansville, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, in an automobile accident on Old Henderson Road.
He worked at the Super K-Mart in Evansville.
He enjoyed mountain biking, building models, boating and baseball.
Surviving are his parents, Ron and Becky McKinney of Evansville; three sisters, Crystal Barnhart and Javan McKinney, both of Evansville, and Ann McKinney of Louisville, Ky.; a brother, Sean of Cincinnati; and grandparents, Jack and Vera McKinney and Gene and Jeanetta Barnhart.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, the Rev. Michael Stoelting officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.

Juanita Van Bibber
Juanita Van Bibber, 83, of Carterville, Ill., formerly of Evansville, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at Herrin (Ill.) Hospital.
She had worked as a health aide for nursing homes in Evansville, retiring in 1945.
She was a member of Herrin First Church of God.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Boyd of Emporia, Kan.; two sons, George Fairchilds of Zeigler, Ill., and Lester Van Bibber of Lynnwood, Wash.; a sister, Betty Todd of Evansville; a brother, the Rev. Oscar Pullum of Evansville; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Lester “Buddy, ” died in 1957.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin, with burial in Blairsville cemetery. Friends may call from noon to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church or TIP Hospice.
Bernice Brown
Bernice M. Brown, 89, of Jackson, Miss., died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at St. Mary’s Medical Center from complication of congestive heart failure. She was visiting a daughter, Shirley Everett of Evansville.
She was a storyteller, had recorded 14 hours of memories of her life in rural Jones County, Mississippi, and had written a history of the Gitano Methodist Church.
She was an active member of the Asbury Congregational Methodist Church.
Also surviving are a daughter, Janette Kennedy of Heidelberg, Miss.; two sons, Donald Watkins of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Mack Watkins of Jackson; 10 grandchildren, including, Emily Everett Diedrich; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel is handling local arrangement.
Arrangements are pending in Jackson, with burial in the Union Line cemetery near Soso, Miss.
Nina Boehne
Nina Louise (Taylor) Boehne, 60, formerly of Evansville, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at her home in Hopkinsville, Ky., of an apparent heart attack.
She had been a seamstress with Flynn Enterprises in Hopkinsville.
She attended Living Hope Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Marsha Diane Boren of Whitney, Texas, and Sheila Renee Sweatt of Evansville; a son, Barry Charles Boren of Evansville; four sisters, Vonnie Francis of Hopkinsville, Gladys Stewart of Cadiz, Ky., Marion Holman of Brunswick, N.J., and Jean Lawson of Knoxville, Tenn.; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home Hopkinsville Chapel, with burial in Bristo-Lancaster cemetery in Trigg County, Ky.

Osie DeTalente
Osie DeTalente, 59, of Evansville, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at her home of cancer.
She was Protestant and enjoyed sewing.
Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Nelson Sr.; a daughter, Debra Hudson of Newburgh; four sons, Joseph, John, Nelson Jr. and James, all of Evansville; a sister, Mary Viars of Evansville; two brothers, John Bivins of Dawson Springs, Ky., and Claude Bivins of Aurora, Ill.; and 13 grandchildren, Erin Schauss, Mackenzie, Jason and Jonathan Hudson, Derek, Wesley, Tyler, Nelson III, Rocky, Claudia, James Jr. and Colin DeTalente and Savannah Barta.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Bill Heard officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.

Linda Vaught
Linda Mae Vaught, 59, of Evansville, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at St. Mary’s Medical Center from a heart attack.
She was an administrative assistant at Azteca Milling Corp., had worked at American General in Evansville and SeaWorld in Orlando, Fla.
She was a former employee of and a volunteer for the Right to Life of Vanderburgh County.
Surviving are two daughters, Jennifer Thompson of Cottontown, Tenn., and Amy DeCorrevont of Evansville; a son, Greg of Madisonville, Ky.; two sisters, Jean Angermeier of Fort Branch, Ind., and Jo Ann Hunter of Evansville; a stepbrother, Bruce Reed of Evansville; four grandchildren, Connor, Coleman and Rance Thompson and Kyle DeCorrevont; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Joseph Vaught officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.

Catherine Mays
CYNTHIANA, Ind. — Catherine Mays, 73, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at Deaconess Hospital.
She was Pentecostal.
Surviving are seven daughters, Lisa Alvey of Griffin, Karen Todd of Greenville, Ky., Shirley Gee and Sandra Paul, both of Cynthiana, Mary Gish of St. Wendel, Faye Williams of Garden Grove, Calif., and Pat Williams of Evansville; two sons, Donald Crull of Haubstadt and David Mays of Evansville; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Sharon Gee, died in 1977 and a son, Joseph Crull, in 1988.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, with burial in Liberty cemetery.
