Edgar Greenwell
Edgar M. Greenwell, 89, of Evansville, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at Columbia Health Care Facility.
He was a professional
photographer and was the photographer for the Diocese of Evansville. He took pictures for the bishops, Memorial High School, St. Theresa School and other churches and schools. He was also photographer for CSX Railroad, General Electric Corp. and Lopp & Lopp, Attorneys at Law.
He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife of 13 years, Ruth; two daughters, Brenda Schlichter of Fenton, Mo., and Kathy Hampton of Evansville; four sons, John M. Greenwell of Woodbury, Minn., Kenny and Bill Conger, both of Evansville, and Steve Conger of Carlyle; a brother, Joe of Evansville; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Theresa Catholic Church, the Rev. Ted Tempel officiating, with burial in St. Joseph cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a memorial service at 7 p.m., at Alexander Funeral Home North Chapel.
Loretta Marshall
Loretta M. Marshall, 74, of Evansville, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of complications of heart disease.
She retired in 1980 from Berry Plastics Co. after 17 years.
She was a life member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her husband, Willard Jr.; a daughter, Marsha F. Evans of Owensville, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Gloria G. Scales of Chandler, Ind., and Deborah Montgomery of Boonville, Ind.; a son, Alan W. Folz of Evansville; a sister, Irene Little of Orange Park, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, the Rev. Wade Butler officiating, with burial in Lutheran cemetery.

Harold Kixmiller
Harold L. Kixmiller, 69, of Greensburg, Ind., brother of Roy Kixmiller of Evansville, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at Decatur County Memorial Hospital of acute myocardial infarction.
He retired from Chrysler Corp. in Indianapolis.
He was a member of Kingston Presbyterian Church and AMVETS.
He was a Navy veteran and a graduate of Freelandville High School.
Also surviving are a son, James Scott of Canaan, Ind.; three brothers, Paul of Terre Haute, Ind., Kenneth of Florida and Arthur of Winslow, Ind.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. EST Tuesday at Kingston Presbyterian Church in Greensburg, the Rev. David Crowley officiating, with burial in South Park cemetery in Greensburg.
Friends may call from noon to service time at the church. Gilliland Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg is handling arrangements.

Lettie Gant
Lettie (Clark) Gant, 92, of Evansville, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at Muhlenberg County Community Methodist Hospital in Greenville, Ky.
She had formerly co-owned Poplar Grove Rest Home in Greenville.
Surviving are a sister, Annie Mae Jones of Greenville; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Forest Chapel Baptist Church in Mortons Gap, Ky., the Rev. Garrett Grinstead officiating, with burial in White Plains cemetery in White Plains, Ky.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at the church. Mason and Sons Funeral Home in Madisonville, Ky., is handling arrangements.
Edward Brothers
Edward J. Brothers, 82, of Evansville, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at his home.
He retired in 1980 from Bristol-Myers after 42 years.
He also retired from the Evansville Courier & Press after 10 years.
He was a member of the Mead Johnson’s Foreman Club, Eagles, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the former St. Ben’s Minstrel.
He was a World War II veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Darlene (Ibbotson); two daughters, Angela Embrey of Evansville and Elizabeth Heilman of Indianapolis; a stepdaughter, Cassandra Mayer of Evansville; four sons, George of Birmingham, Ala., William and Daniel, both of Evansville, and Edward of Charlestown; two sisters, Ann Denton and Rose Massingham, both of Evansville; a brother, Damian “Pete” of Evansville; 16 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Browning Funeral Home, the Revs. John Lefler Jr. and Ted Tempel officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Bernice Thomas
Bernice (Sorensen) Thomas, 83, formerly of Evansville, died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at Chesterwood Village in Cincinnati.
She was a member of the Sycamore Chapter 314 of the Eastern Star and Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.
Surviving are a sister, Grace M. Staley of Deer Park, Ohio; a brother, Col. Lennard Sorensen of Cincinnati; and nieces and nephews, including Beverly Crowe, who cared for her.
Her husband, C. Covert Thomas, died in 1991.
Services were held at Staley-Crowe Funeral Home in Deer Park, with burial in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
James Geisweit
VINCENNES, Ind. — James L. Geisweit, 77, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
He owned and operated Vincennes Aluminum Window and Door since 1978.
He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Mary (Fyffe); a son, Robert of Vincennes; his mother, Margaret Geisweit of Lester, Pa.; a sister, Evelyn Cleaver of Pennsylvania; a brother, George of Pennsylvania; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Geisweit.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. EST Monday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with burial in Memorial Park cemetery.

Sidney Queen
LOOGOOTEE, Ind. — Sidney P. Queen, 77, of Shoals, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at Bedford Regional Medical Center in Bedford of an apparent heart attack.
He was a funeral director from 1951 until his retirement in 1976. He and his late brother, Gordon, operated Queen Funeral Home in Shoals.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Shoals, the Shoals American Legion and the Eagles.
He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a 1951 graduate of the Indiana College of Mortuary Science in Indianapolis.
Surviving are his wife, Rose (Jones); a daughter, Lori Bauer of Loogootee; two sisters, Inez Sorrells of Shoals and Frances Fisher of Washington; and two grandsons, Craig and Mark Bauer.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Titzer Funeral Home.
Rita Lindsey
TELL CITY, Ind. — Rita Lindsey, 44, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System in Owensboro, Ky., of pneumonia.
She worked at Stewart-Warner in Troy for eight years.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 213 Ladies’ Auxiliary in Tell City.
Surviving are a son, Jeremy of Bowling Green, Ky.; four sisters, Anna Webb, Sharon Batie and Laurinda Fawks, all of Tell City, and Carolyn Tongate of Fishers; two brothers, Delbert and Bobby Reed, both of Cannelton; and her companion, Tom Griepenstroh of Tell City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.
Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Tuesday at Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel, with burial in New Cliff cemetery in Cannelton.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Gerald Brokaw
Gerald Brokaw, 74, of Evansville, died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of heart failure.
He owned Papa Top Liquor Store.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Lillian; two sons, Jimmy W. Gill and Kim Brokaw, both of Evansville; a sister, Ruth Brokaw of Toledo, Ohio; two brothers, Robert and Donald, both of Toledo; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, the Rev. Billy Dean Heard officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.
