GERALD S. O'MORROW, 73, of Radford, Va., formerly of Fort Wayne, died Nov. 9 in Invergargill, New Zealand. Born in Fort Wayne, he was teaching at Southern Institute of Technology and was a Korean War Air Force and U.S. Air Force Reserves veteran. He was a pioneer in therapeutic recreation and wrote several textbooks. He had served as a therapist, administrator and consultant with health care facilities and as an educator and administrator in academic settings, retiring from Radford University, Radford. He had served as a consultant to World Health Organization and was former president of National Therapeutic Recreation Society. He was initial president of Board of Regents, Therapeutic Recreation Management School. He was principal and founder of Therapeutic Recreation International Consulting Firm. Surviving are his wife, Mary; four children, Dianne Snyder of Concord, N.C., Sharon O'Morrow and Steven O'Morrow, both of Radford, and Patrick O'Morrow of Columbus, Ohio; and a brother, Maurice of Fort Wayne.
