Her first husband, Paul "Curly" Armstrong, died in 1983. Her second husband, Dr. John F. Young, died in 1995. Surviving is a daughter, Susan Armstrong Miller of Fort Wayne; a son, Stephen Armstrong of Fort Wayne; three stepdaughters, Jo Young-Switzer of Roanoke and Carol Lindquist and Barb Young-Miller, both of Fort Wayne; and 14 grandchildren.
