Born in Mellott, she worked at Dupont in Newport for more than 10 years, Hoosier Crown in Crawfordsville, was deputy assessor in Van Buren Township in Fountain County for several years and owned and operated a restaurant in Veedersburg. Her husband, Kelso M., died in 1989.
