William R. Yeager
William R. Yeager, 73, of Terre Haute died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He retired from the print shop and was paper buyer for Hulman & Co., after 47 years of service. He was born Dec. 25, 1928, in Terre Haute to Charles Yeager and Helen Flesher Yeager. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Darrow Yeager, whom he married
Dec. 25, 1949; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy G. and Tony Seger of Greenwood and Brenda K. and Joe Richardson of Columbus; and five grandchildren, Ted Seger, Chancey Seger, Jessica Richardson, Drew Richardson and Sam Richardson. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a member of Southside Church of Christ, a lifelong member of the YMCA and was a regular participant of the Terre Haute Chess Club. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, with Abe Miller officiating. Burial is in New Harmony cemetery. Pallbearers are Ray McDonald, Kenneth Tingley, Don Hosier, Leonard Rostek, John Pfister and Jim Mohr. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Southside Church of Christ.
Kirk Douglas Albright
CLINTON - Kirk Douglas Albright, 19, of Clinton and formerly of Brazil died at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2002, in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born May 28, 1982, in Valparaiso to Donald G. Albright and Susan McDonald Albright. Survivors include his mother, Susan McDonald; his father and stepmother, Don and Vickie Albright; two sisters, Heather Payton and Amber Carter; his grandmothers, Irene McDonald and Joyce Bridgewater; two stepsisters, Crystal Lewis and Angela Lewis; two uncles; three aunts; one niece; and five nephews. Services are 3:30 p.m. Friday in Lawson-Slack Funeral Home in Brazil with the Revs. Tim Russell and Terry Wilson II officiating. Burial is in Summit Lawn cemetery in Brazil, with graveside military rites by American Legion Post 2 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1127. Visitation is 1:30 p.m. until services Friday.
Lois Mae Buckner
LYONS - Lois Mae Buckner, 86, of Lyons and formerly of Linton died at 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2002, in Lyons Health & Living Center. She was born Jan. 5, 1916, in Koleen to Walter Howell and Dolly Alcorn Howell. Her husband, Lloyd Buckner, died Sept. 2, 1971. Survivors include one daughter, Janice Hineman; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday in Welch & Cornett Linton Chapel, with the Rev. Kenneth Adams officiating. Burial is in Fairview cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until services Saturday.
Arthur 'Wayne' Rooksberry
BLOOMFIELD - Arthur "Wayne" Rooksberry, 67, of Plainfield and formerly of Greene County died at 12:22 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2002, in Hendricks County Hospital in Danville, Ind. He was retired from Citizens Gas Corp. He was born Jan. 11, 1935, in Sullivan County to Ora Rooksberry and Blanche Burris Rooksberry. Survivors include his wife, Roseanna Stevens Rooksberry; one daughter, Jayne Rooksberry-Price; four stepchildren, Susan Daniels, Tina Calhoun, Jeff French and Julie Grider; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Rooksberry; and two sisters, Wilma Rooksberry-Shorter and Margaret Rooksberry. He was an Army veteran and a member of Linton Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, American Legion Post 22 of Linton, Zorah Shrine Temple of Terre Haute and Bethany Christian Church of Bloomfield. Services are 1 p.m. Friday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel in Terre Haute. Burial is in Pogue cemetery in Fairbanks. Visitation is 10 a.m. until services Friday.
Margaret Lucille Rowland
BRAZIL - Margaret Lucille Rowland, 99, of Brazil died at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2002, in Clay Health Center. She taught school in California, Illinois, Huron, S.D., Mooresville and Brazil. She was born July 5, 1902, in Athens, Ohio, to Rowland Rowland and Mary Jones Rowland. Survivors include several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. She graduated from Brazil High School, National Park Seminary College in Forest Glen, Md., and DePauw University in Greencastle in 1925, and completed additional graduate training at Chicago University and Indiana State University. She was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority, Shakespeare Literary Society, Women's Reading Circle, the Ladies' literary Society and the First Presbyterian Church of Brazil. Services are 11 a.m. today in Moore Funeral Home, with the Revs. Gary Scroggins and Frank Bunn officiating. Burial is in Crown Hill cemetery in Indianapolis. Visitation is 9 a.m. until services.
Joseph L. Slough
WORTHINGTON - Joseph L. Slough, 86, of Worthington died at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2002, in his residence. He was born April 24, 1915, in Linton to Adam Slough and Ella Hullett Slough. His first wife, Mary Sturk, died in 1941; and his second wife, Mary Ellen Richards, died in 2001. Survivors include two sons, Jack Fowler and Jeff Slough; five daughters, Marcella Thatcher, Nancy Sanders, Marion Mackey, Becky Moon and Patricia Brandt; one stepson, Larry Peek; one stepdaughter, Jean Gilliatt; one brother, Charles Slough; 23 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services are 11 a.m. Friday in Welch & Cornett Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Duncan officiating. Burial is in Pleasant Bethel cemetery, north of Worthington. Evelyn Hastings Thomason
LINTON - Evelyn Hastings Thomason, 83, of Sarasota, Fla., and formerly of Linton died at 3:07 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2002, in Alterra Health Care Residence in Sarasota. She was born June 11, 1918, in Jasonville to Robert Whittington and Ruth Hurt Whittington. Her first husband, Richard Hastings, died earlier. Survivors include her husband, Merrill Thomason; two daughters, Ann Johnson and Mary Kelly; two sons, Steven Hastings and Thomas Hastings; one stepdaughter, Pamela Thomason; one sister, Norma Shearer; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services are 11 a.m. Friday in Welch & Cornett Linton Chapel, with Mike Chapman officiating. Burial is in Lebanon cemetery in Midland. Visitation is 7 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until services Friday.
Patricia Howard Tingle
FARMERSBURG - Patricia Howard Tingle, 73, of Farmersburg and formerly of Indianapolis died March 23, 2002, in University Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born May 20, 1928, in Mishawaka to David Howard and Lena Fidler Howard. Her husband, Kenneth Tingle, died in 1973. Survivors include two sons, Mark Tingle and Fred Tingle; four granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services are 1 p.m. Saturday in Farmersburg Westlawn cemetery, with Mitch Hoesman officiating. There is no visitation. DeBaun Funeral Homes assisted with arrangements.

CLAY CITY - Marie E. Zimmerman, 84, of Clay City died at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2002, in St. Vincent Clay Hospital in Brazil. She was born Sept. 17, 1917, in Center Point to Harley Winckey and Ollie Marie Gilbert Winckey. Survivors include three nieces, Wanda Crecelius, Janet Kassis and Archlene Norris; and four nephews, Robert Norris, Richard Norris, Gerald Norris and Delbert Norris. Services are 1 p.m. Saturday in Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, with the Revs. John Booker and Randall Slaven officiating. Burial is in Maple Grove cemetery. Kenneth Raymond "Cob' Lowe
Kenneth Raymond "Cob" Lowe, 88, of Terre Haute died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, in Royal Oaks Healthcare Center. He retired as a mechanic from Quaker Maid Co., after 43 years of service. He was born Dec. 25, 1912, in Thorpe, Wash., to Lawrence O. Lowe and Dorothy Mott Lowe. Survivors include his wife of nearly 30 years, Rosemary Nussel Francis Lowe, whom he married
June 17, 1972; two sons, James William Lowe and his wife, Avis of Terre Haute and Kenneth Eugene Lowe and his wife, Sue of West Terre Haute; two daughters, Mary Helen Ash and her husband, Dick of Peru and Patricia Ann Roach of Bradenton, Fla.; two stepsons, Don Francis Sr., and his wife, Kathy of Martinsville, Ind., and Kenneth Francis of Fort Wayne; two stepdaughters, Janet Schildmeier and her husband, Dick of Indianapolis and Nancy Sedletzeck of Terre Haute; eight grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, Bob and Sue Lowe, Ted and Peggy Lowe, Loretta and Larry Walden, all of Terre Haute, Lilly and Jerry Ornduff of Ohio and Larry and Gloria Lowe. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Oakley Lowe and Warren Lowe; and two sisters, Hazel Ornduff and Frieda Green. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, where he served as an usher and attended Glen High School, playing basketball there. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed many hours in his boat with his sons and fishing buddies. He also enjoyed his garden and fruit trees and woodworking. Services are 2 p.m. Saturday in Roselawn Funeral Home, with the Revs. Larry Mathias and Mark Fleschner officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Catherine Rebecca Strassler
Catherine Rebecca Strassler, 77, of Terre Haute died at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital, following a brief illness. She was born May 18, 1924, in Clay County to Walter Raymond Burns and Charlotte Nichols Burns. Her husband, Frederick A. Strassler, died in 1972. Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca R. Wright and her husband, Brent of Brazil; one sister, Bege Wyndham of Brazil; two grandsons, Frederick Bauer and Christopher Smothers, both of Terre Haute; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by one brother, Jordy Burns. Private services are Friday in DeBaun Idaho Street Chapel, with her nephew, the Rev. Ward Wyndham officiating. Entombment is in Calvary cemetery. Visitation is private.
Conrad K. Willis
Conrad K. Willis, 73, of Terre Haute died at 4:40 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, in Meadows Manor Convalescent & Rehabilitation Center. He was a retired truck driver for Gibson Coke Co. He was born Aug. 24, 1928, in Sullivan to Nevill Willis and Frances Willis. Survivors include his ex-wife, Sandra Willis; one son, James Willis of Terre Haute; one adopted daughter, Roxane Morlan of Terre Haute; one brother, Carroll Willis of Loraine, Ohio; four grandchildren, James Joseph Isles, Lisa Ann Willis, Justin Morlan and Travis Morlan; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Brian K. Willis, in 1998. Services were Nov. 28, 2001, in Callahan Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Grubb officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Park.

CLAY CITY - Ozeata Lints Berry, 89, of Clay City died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, in Clay County HealthCare Center in Brazil. She was born Oct. 7, 1912, in Smithville to Robert Royer and Rosella Orman Royer. Her first husband, Isaac F. Lints, died in 1952; her second husband, Dallas T. Berry, died in 2000. Survivors include two sons, Lyman Lints and Leroy Lints; four granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. Services are 11 a.m. Friday in Lawson-Slack Funeral Home in Brazil, with the Revs. Mel Sorenson and Al Dicer officiating. Burial is in Swalley cemetery in Bowling Green.
