Anna M. Smith
Anna M. Smith, 47, of Goshen, died Tuesday (July 14, 2009).
She was born May 30, 1962, in Cedar Grove, W.Va., to Harry Browning Sr. and Wanda (Craigo) Browning.
She is survived by her mother, Wanda Browning of Elkhart; her father, Harry Browning Sr. of Florida; two sons, Richard Smith of Elkhart and Erik Smith of Mishawaka; one daughter, Kristy (Derek) Parsons of Newport News, Va.; one sister, Betsy Wilson of Elkhart; and one brother, Harry Browning Jr. of Goshen. She was preceded in death by one sister, Lisa Long.
Mrs. Smith worked in production at Star Quest in Goshen. She was a graduate of Jimtown High School.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Lenny Krebs officiating. Burial will be at Rice cemetery, Elkhart.

Christobel T. Rosezelle
Nov. 14, 1911-July 16, 2009
ELKHART - Christobel Todd Rosezelle, 97, 1508 Locust, Apt. 103, formerly of Goshen and South Bend, died Thursday at 2:52 a.m. at Elkhart General Hospital.
She married
Donald E. Rosezelle Sr. Oct. 7, 1933, in LaPorte. He died Dec. 2, 1983.
She is survived by two daughters, Cherie Ann Cozzi, South Bend, and Donabel (Charles) Schlitz, Elkhart; a son, Donald E. Rosezelle Jr., Goshen; and a stepdaughter, Paula Jean Browning, Elkhart.
Friends may call Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, Goshen.
The funeral is scheduled for Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Violett cemetery, Goshen.
Phillip Daniel VanArsdale
March 8, 1942-July 15, 2009
Phillip Daniel VanArsdale, 67, Goshen, died Wednesday at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend, after an extended illness.
A lifetime area resident, he was born March 8, 1942, in Mishawaka, to Curtis and Alta A. (McKibbin) VanArsdale.
He married
Marilyn (Delcamp) VanArsdale May 11, 1962.
He started Ranger Tool in 1967 and was a life-long machinist and tool and die maker. He was a member of New Creation Fellowship, Granger. He was a 1960 Millersburg High School graduate, a leader of Royal Rangers, and involved in Gideons International and in men's fellowship and prison ministry. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed hunting, target shooting, riding motorcycles, auto racing and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family whom he loved dearly.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Angela (Ron) Migedt and Anita VanArsdale, Goshen, and Ann (Jim) Hart, Niles, Mich.; three sons, Anthony (Dawn) VanArsdale, Elkhart, Andrew (Corie) VanArsdale, Granger, and Aaron VanArsdale, Indianapolis; a sister, Linda VanArsdale, Elkhart; a brother, Ronald VanArsdale; and grandchildren Johnny, Mindy and Hunter Migedt, Jordan and Alexis Beck, Tyler and Parker VanArsdale and Chloe Hart.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen.
Services are planned for Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Klahr of New Creation Fellowship officiating.

Tom L. Brock
Tom L. Brock, 61, of 7305 Arco Iris Lane, formerly of Goshen, Ind., died Tuesday (July 14, 2009) in Sky Ridge Medical Center, Lone Tree.
He was born March 5, 1948, in Goshen to Fred and Virginia "Tim" (Lewallen) Brock.
He married
Roseann Webb, who survives along with two sons, Tom L. (Bora) Brock of Houston, Texas, and Chase T. Brock of Castle Rock; his parents of Shipshewana, Ind.; one grandson; two sisters, Ginna McFarren of Shipshewana and Bonnie Lange; and one brother, Jon Brock of California.
Mr. Brock was a 1966 graduate of Millersburg High School and a U.S. veteran who was discharged in 1972. He was a Realtor at Coldwell Banker Residential, Colorado, and had been a Realtor in Elkhart County, Ind.
He served with the Jaycees and had several positions with ECBOR and MLS. He was a member of Douglas County, Colo., Realtors Association and a life member of Elkhart County Board of Realtors.
Friends may call from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, where the funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 4 p.m. Pastor Mike Overpeck will officiate. Burial will be in Brown cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the National Cancer Institute for kidney cancer research or the American Cancer Society.
Virgil L. Blosser
GOSHEN -- Virgil L. Blosser, 86, of Greencroft, formerly of C.R. 30, died at 4:45 p.m. Monday (July 13, 2009) in Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Oct. 19, 1922, in Harrison Township, Elkhart County, to Russell and Pearl M. (Bollinger) Blosser. On Nov. 6, 1948, he married
Lois Rheinheimer in Middlebury. She died Dec. 30, 2004.
Mr. Blosser is survived by two sons, Sheldon (Bea) Blosser of Goshen and Glen (Denise) Blosser of Niagara, Wis.; one sister, Harriet (Robert) Bontrager of Shipshewana; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
One brother, C. Raymond Blosser, preceded him in death.
Mr. Blosser was a farmer and ran Blosser's Egg Farm, selling eggs for 38 years. He also had worked at Yellowstone and Fan Coach in the recreational vehicle industry. He was a member of Yellow Creek Mennonite Church.
He performed Civilian Public Service at stations in Hill City, S.D., Powellville, Md., and the Cleveland State Mental Hospital.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. A viewing will also take place one hour prior to the 10 a.m. Friday funeral service at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church. Pastor Katie Cunningham will officiate. Burial will be in Yellow Creek cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the church.
Vera Ruth Moore
ELKHART -- Vera Ruth Moore, 86, of C.R. 3 South, died at 9:40 a.m. Sunday (July 12, 2009) in her home.
She was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Frankfort to George A. and Estella B. (Beard) Stewart. On Jan. 24, 1942, she married
James Howard Moore II in Wakarusa.
He survives along with one daughter, Anita (Paul E.) Hoffman of Elkhart; one son, James H. (Susan) Moore III of Ames, Iowa; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Janet Rhine of Noblesville; and one brother, George F. Stewart of Frankfort.
She was preceded in death by six siblings, Joe and Donald Stewart, Irene Schimel, Marguerite Snodgrass, Elizabeth Evans and Mildred Turnbell.
Mrs. Moore was a homemaker who attended Jamestown United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Frankfort High School.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Jamestown United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Olive (West) cemetery.

Geraldine Lambert
WAKARUSA -- Geraldine Lambert, 80, a lifetime resident of Wakarusa, died at 5:50 p.m. Sunday (July 12, 2009) in her home.
She was born May 13, 1929, in Wakarusa to Mervin and Inez (Smeltzer) Strycker. On May 21, 1946, she married
Cloise D. Lambert. He died Dec. 8, 2006.
Mrs. Lambert is survived by one daughter, Marcia Lyons of Elkhart; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, June Harter of Wakarusa; and two brothers, Mervin Strycker of Wakarusa and Larry Strycker of Mishawaka.
She was preceded in death by one son, Steven Lambert; and four siblings, Pauline, Dale, Lowell and LaMar Strycker.
Mrs. Lambert had worked at the Wakarusa Post Office, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Wakarusa.

Joan C. Copsey
June 24, 1932-July 8, 2009
Joan Carole Copsey died on Wednesday, July, 8, 2009 at 5 a.m. at Goshen General Hospital ending a long and determined fight to recover from serious illness. Joan was born June 24, 1932, in Chicago, Ill., to Helga and Eric Gyllstrom. She was the eighth of nine children born to her parents - a family which was comprised of seven sons and two daughters.
In 1946, Joan moved to Marcellus, Mich. with her parents and two of her brothers. She graduated from Marcellus High School in 1949. She moved to Elkhart where, on July 21, 1951, she married
James Copsey Jr. They had one daughter, Lori, and one precious granddaughter, Olivia.
Joan was employed at Miles Laboratories/Bayer Corporation in the purchasing department for 43 years until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of the National Purchasing Agents Association, a past volunteer for Junior Achievement, a past member of the Greencroft Foundation Board and a member of College Mennonite Church. Joan enjoyed gardening, golfing, reading good mysteries and her two cats. She cherished her family all - those near and far - and served as family genealogist. She loved family gatherings of all sorts. Most of all, she cherished her granddaughter and the time the spent together each day.
Joan is preceded in death by her brothers Earl Gyllstrom, Lester Gyllstrom, Harold Gyllstrom and Ray Gyllstrom and a sister, Verna Singley.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; daughter, Lori; and her granddaughter Olivia, who was the joy of her life. Her brothers Roy Gyllstrom, Portland, Ore., Robert (Dorphine) Gyllstrom, Battle Creek, Mich., and Richard (Mabeth) Gyllstrom, Battle Lake, Minn., survive. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Evelyn Gyllstrom, Chicago, Theresa Gyllstrom, Springhill, Fla., and Evelyn Gyllstrom, Marcellus, Mich., and many nieces and nephews. She is survived by nieces Pam Slabach and Barbara McArthur and dear friend Marcia Welsh, whose daily tender presence, support and care helped her to endure her last difficult weeks.
Joan will be remembered for her tenacity, determination, courage, faith and humor.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church, Goshen. The memorial service will be Wednesday, July 15, at 10:30 a.m. at the College Mennonite Church. Pastor Klaudia Smucker will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Student Aid Fund of College Mennonite Church.
Norman H. Swartzentruber

Norman Henry 'Speeder' Swartzentruber, 68, 15260 C.R. 34, Goshen, formerly of McMinnville, Ore., died Friday.
He was born Sept. 6, 1940, in McMinnville, Ore., to Esther (Stutzman) and Menno Swartzentruber.
He married
Vera L. (Bontrager) Swartzentruber on Aug. 25, 1962. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Bret (Cheryl) Swartzentruber, Centerburg, Ohio, Shawn (Sarah) Swartzentruber, Hoopeston, Ill., and Timothy Swartzentruber, New Orleans, La.; two daughters, Lisa (Michael) Maust, Goshen, and Melanie (Matthew) Hice, Logansport; six grandchildren; six sisters, Mattie Garver, Plain City, Ohio, Bertha Swartzentruber, Goshen, Dema (Andrew) Chupp, McMinnville, Ore., Ruth Troyer, Sarasota, Fla., Naomi Swartz, Sarasota, Fla., and Irene (Harold) Shearer, Sarasota.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Valentine, Menno Jr. Elmer and Enos.
He worked in real estate and as a truck driver. Having come from the Amish, he had a fondness for the community and enjoyed serving them. He enjoyed genealogy, history, playing games with his family and practical jokes. He was affectionately known by some as 'Speeder.'
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, Goshen and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Terry Diener officiating.
Burial will be in Clinton Union cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children.
Duane F. Conrad, 74,
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Duane Fred Conrad, 74, of 531 Sunshine Ave., formerly of New Paris and Goshen, Ind., died Saturday (July 11, 2009) in his home.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. July 30, 2009, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, where the funeral service will be at 3 p.m. July 31, 2009. The Rev. Rob Nelson of Grace United Methodist Church, New Paris, will officiate. Burial will be in New Paris cemetery.
He was born March 19, 1935, in Goshen to Fred L. and Valley M. (Leemon) Conrad. On Oct. 29, 1955, he married
Carole Scott, who survives in North Fort Myers along with one daughter, Debra (Rob) Roe of Syracuse, Ind.; one son, Bradley Conrad of Naples; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Dorothy Anglemyer of Wakarusa, Ind.; and one sister-in-law, Norma Conrad of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Gayle Kaufman, and three siblings, Bessie Miller, Helen Saal and Dean Conrad.
Mr. Conrad had worked in the paint and wallpaper department at Home Lumber, Goshen, and had been manager of Goshen Paint and Wallpaper. He was an antique dealer for many years, owning two antique shops in New Paris.
He was a 1953 graduate of New Paris High School and had certified sales schooling. Mr. Conrad was a former member of the Elkhart Officials Association and IHFAA Association for Referees and Umpires.
He attended Grace United Methodist Church, New Paris.
Memorials may be given to the Fairfield High School for handicap accessibility for athletic events (purchase of a golf cart).
