DONALD D. NEEDLER

Donald D. Needler, age 78 of Tipton, IN died on February 3, 2007 at St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel, IN. He was born July 26, 1928 in Tipton County, IN to Garland and Gladys (Terrell) Needler who are both deceased. Don married Malnee Eden on June 6, 1955. He graduated from Tipton High School Class of 1946 and attended the First Baptist Church in Tipton, was a member of the Masonic Lodge where he served as Grand Master in 1963, past secretary of the Tipton Bowling Association, a member of the Bowlers Hall of Fame and a past president of the Lincoln School PTA. Don retired from Chrysler in 1994 and was a meat cutter at McGraw’s Grocery in Tipton for 28 years. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. Surviving are his wife, Malnee Needler of Tipton, daughters Deborah K. (Terry) Ploughe of Tipton, Diana Kessler of Florida, Dawn Ann (Bruce) Michel of Kokomo and a son, Donald Brian (Jackie) Needler of Kokomo along with his grandchildren, Kristi Ploughe, Alisha Martin, Brandon Needler, Lindsey Needler, Caleb Michel and Leah Michel and two great grandchildren, Cheyenne & Dominique Smiley. Don was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and a grandchild. Friends may call from 4 PM to 8 PM on Feb. 6, 2007 at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton. Services will be held at 11 AM on February 7, 2007 at Porters. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery
in Tipton with Pastor’s Mark Ward and Lawrence Hufhand officiating.
HARRY D. PHELPS
FEBRUARY 3, 1941 ~ JANUARY 28, 2007
Harry D. Phelps, age 65 of Greentown, IN died on January 28, 2007 at Howard Regional Hospital in Kokomo, IN. He was born February 3, 1941 in Butler County, KY to Clifton Ray and Zora (Lindsey) Phelps. Harry attended the Cicero United Methodist Church and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Tipton. He also had bowled on various leagues in Tipton over the years. Harry was a welder by trade at FMC in Tipton and then at Warner Body in Noblesville until his retirement in 2004. During his active years he was a member of the Steelworkers Union Local # 2166 where he was Past President, Past Vice President and Past Union Steward of the local. Harry enjoyed fishing and was a very proud member of the Democrat Party. He also was a very good provider for his family. Surviving are two sons, David Barry Phelps and fiancé Darlene Bowers of Greentown and Clifton Ray Phelps of Kokomo along with his grandchildren, Joshua and Brittany Phelps of Greentown and one great grandchild, Ivory Phelps.
A special friend, Carol Clark of Noblesville and three nieces Debbie, Donna and Della of Louisville, KY also survive. Harry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Horace Phelps. Friends may call from 4 PM to 8 PM on January 31, 2007 at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on February 1, 2007 at Porters. DAVID O. LEWELLYN
MAY 13, 1943 ~ JANUARY 22, 2007
David O. Lewellyn, age 63 of Tipton, Indiana passed away on January 22, 2007 at his home in Tipton. He was born May 13, 1943 in Washington, Pennsylvania to Clarence “Pappy” and Julia (McMurray) Lewellyn. David graduated from California High School Class of 1962 in California, Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964. He was a retired as a over the road trucker. Surviving are two brothers, Larry Beatty of Scotland and Dudley Balmer of Tipton along with a sister Nellie Stevens of Florida and a step sister Ruth Ann Rowan of West Virginia. Family will receive friends from 6 PM to 7 PM on January 29, 2007 at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton with a memorial service being held at 7 PM on the same evening. Pastor Dudley Balmer will officiate. Interment will be in the California Cemetery
in California, Pennsylvania at a later date.
GEORGE W. TISHNER
APRIL 8, 1923 ~ JANUARY 17, 2007
George W. Tishner, age 83 of Tipton, IN went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife Delores on January 17, 2007 at the Tipton County Memorial Hospital. He was born April 8, 1923 in Tipton, IN to George and Eva (Day) Tishner. George first married Sarah Grace on October 21, 1946 and they later divorced, he then married Mary Delores Upchurch on August 24,1957 and she passed away on April 22, 1983. George proudly served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corp from 1942 to 1947. He retired from Delco Remy in Anderson, IN after 30 years of service. During his retirement years George enjoyed watching the old western movies, watching Colts football with his sons, fishing and telling the tall tales. Surviving are his five children, David Lee (Sandra) Tishner of Frankfort, IN, Resuha (and friend Steve Molden) Tishner, Cynthia (Dennis) Johnson, Daniel Tishner, and Randall Tishner all of Tipton. Also surviving are seven brothers and sisters, Mary Tishner, Barbara Tishner, Peggy Tishner, Robert Tishner and James Tishner all of Tipton, Helen Tishner Moore and Patty Tishner Lukens of Anderson, IN, along with his grandchildren Gerrid Tishner, Christy Tishner Kanatzer, Dennis Johnson, Justin Johnson and two great grandchildren, Ashleigh and Emily Kanatzer. George was preceded in death by his wife, parents, four sisters and a brother. Blake Anthony Brown age 5, of Tipton, IN passed away on January 15, 2007 at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, IN. Blake was born in Tipton Indiana on November 30, 2001 to Draper Brown and Jamie (Goodnight) Whitmore. Surviving are his father, Draper Brown of Windfall; mother and stepfather, Jamie and Doug Whitmore of Tipton; brothers, Brayden and Bailey Brown of Tipton; stepbrother and sister Ethan and Shaley Whitmore of Elwood; grandparents Gene and Melinda Goodnight of Tipton, and Jesse and Donna Brown of Windfall; great grandparents, David and Evelyn Tidler of Tipton; Pat Brown and Sue Parks of Windfall; aunts and uncles, Josh Goodnight, Brianne Payne, both of Tipton, Chelsea and Sierra Brown both of Windfall. Services will be at 10:00AM on Friday
January 19, 2007 at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton. Calling will be from 4-8 PM on Thursday January 18, 2007 at Porters. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery

Berdena M. McCool, 62 of Windfall, IN passed away on January 7, 2007 at her home. She was born January 13, 1944 in Tipton, IN
to Alfred H. and Flossie M. (Cardwell) Lange. Berdena married Clarence L. McCool on May 12, 1965 and he survives at home.. Berdena was a housewife and a homemaker who enjoyed crafts, quilting, gardening and especially collecting dolls. She is also survived by a son Tom & (Dianne) McCool of Windfall along with
her grandchildren Chris & (Ashley) McCool, Kyle McCool, Amber Scott, Tommy Scott and two great grandchildren. Also surviving
are brothers and sisters Bonnie Lange of Tipton, Beverly & (Rob) Asher of Missouri, Bonita & (Doug) Long of Missouri, Bill & (Beth) Lange of Windfall, Bob & (Debbie) Lange of Tipton and Barry Lange of Tipton along with in laws Dan & (Josie) McCool of Michigan, Vergie & (Jack) White of Texas and Dorothy & (Bill) Holloway of Louisiana. Berdena was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, three brothers, one step son and one niece. CATHERINE JANE MILLER
APRIL 25, 1955 ~ JANUARY 1, 2007
Catherine Jane Miller, wife, mother and grandmother-to-be, passed away on January 1, 2007 at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born in Tipton County in Indiana on April 25, 1955 (age 51) to Barney and Janie (Faust) Barnett who are both deceased. Cathy graduated from Tipton High School in 1973. She was a member of the Ellenberger United Church of Christ in Indianapolis where she sang in the church choir and in the praise band “B.I.G. Word.“ She was a Catherization Lab Technician at Community East Hospital until the year 2000. Cathy married Larry Miller on August 9, 1980 and he survives at home in Indianapolis. She is also survived by her two daughters, Angela (Mark) Mitchell and Valerie (Josh Pearson) both of Indianapolis, IN. Also surviving are two sisters, Nancy (Dave) Hill of Kempton and Amy (Dennis) Reeves of Indianapolis along with sisters in law Staci (Steve) Delon of Burlington, IN and Jeanie Krise of Frankfort, IN. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive. Calling will be from 3-7 PM on 1-3-2007 at the Ellenberger U.C.C. in Indianapolis and from 3-7 PM on 1-4-2007 at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton with funeral services being held at 11 AM on 1-5-2007 at Porters with Pastor Alan Blakeburn officiating. Interment will be in the Kempton Cemetery.

APRIL 17, 1925 ~ DECEMBER 25, 2006
Mary S. Malston , age 81 of Kokomo, IN passed away on December 25, 2006 at her home in Kokomo, IN. She was born April 17, 1925 in Tipton, IN to Arthur and Sarah Stout. Mary married Darrell Ryan in 1941 and he passed away in 1963, she then married Wayne Malston in 1970 and he died in 1977. Mary was a housewife and a homemaker and a member of the Church of the Brethren. She is survived by a son, Larry Ryan of Tipton, IN and a daughter Sondra Phillips of Kokomo, IN along with five grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. DENNIS A. MONTGOMERY
JUNE 30, 1953 ~ DECEMBER 14, 2006
Dennis A. Montgomery, age 53 of Elwood, IN passed away on December 14, 2006 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood, IN. He was born June 30, 1953 in Tipton, IN to Monty and Joan (Beard) Montgomery. Dennis graduated from Tipton High School in 1972 and later attended John Hinds Vocational School in Elwood. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1972 to 1974 and was a past member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. Dennis is survived by a longtime companion Sue Smith of Elwood, IN. He was a past employee of Chrysler in Kokomo and Red Gold in Orestes, IN. Surviving is a son, Dennis Montgomery of Sharpsville, IN along with two grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Rondal Montgomery, Tim Montgomery, Curtis Montgomery, Rita Montgomery and Becky Montgomery. Friends may call from 6 PM to 7 PM on December 20, 2006 at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton with a memorial service being held at 7 PM on the same evening.

Edith M. Koons, age 82 of Wabash, IN and formerly of Windfall, In passed away on December 10, 2006 at Americare Living Center in Wabash, IN. She was born August 18, 1924 in Sailors Springs, Illinois to Robert and Clara (McKinney) Tolbert. Edith married Grethel “Bill” Koons in 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1981. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church in Windfall, IN. Surviving are two sons, Raymond Koons of Peru, IN and John David Koons of Vanita, OK. Four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive. Three sisters and four brothers preceded Edith in death. Calling will be held on 12-13-2006 from 1 PM to 3 PM with funeral services starting at 3 PM. Pastor Jim Thomas will officiate. Interment will be in the Brookside Cemetery.

Juanita G. Richards, age 86 of Indianapolis, IN passed away on November 2, 2006 at Spring Mill Meadows in Indianapolis, IN. She was born October 31, 1920 in Madison County, Indiana to Dempsey and Olive Ruth (Hobbs) Goodnight. Jaunita married Robert Richards and he preceded her in death. She retired from Indiana Bell in 1981 after 33 years of service. Surviving are several nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews and great great nieces & nephews. Three sisters preceded Juanita in death. Calling will be held on 11-7-2006 from 12 to 1 PM with funeral services starting at 1 PM. Rev. Janice Burns-Watson will officiate.
