Cecil C. Stoneburner, 81, of 5590 North Michigan Road, Plymouth, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2003 at 9:00 p.m. in Hospice House, South Bend.

He was born on April 1, 1922 in Tyner, to Arthur and Ruth (Rust) Stoneburner.

He married Daisy Snyder on November 25, 1946 in the Tyner E.U.B. Church.
After his retirement from farming, Cecil worked at the Big Blue Store, in Plymouth. He was a member of the Bourbon United Methodist Church, Tyner I.O.O.F. #821, and was on the board of directors at the Farm Bureau. He was a Rural Youth Advisor for over 20 years. He served his country during WW II with the Army in the Pacific Theater, with the 339th Engineer Construction Battalion and was on eleven first wave assaults. He was a disabled veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Daisy, a son, Richard and Lana Stoneburner of Denver, Colorado, a daughter, Anita and Kevin Condon of Bourbon, his grandchildren, Tara L. Stoneburner, Zachary L. Stoneburner, Lynne Condon, and Colt Condon, a great-grandson, Shawn Stoneburner, his brother, Ray and Evelyn Stoneburner of Plymouth, and his sisters, Carol Carlberg of Bourbon, and Iris and Guilford Snyder of Plymouth. Cecil was preceded in death by his brother Earl and his sister Merrill.

Services will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth with Rev. Robert Raschka and Rev. Tom Padberg officiating. Burial will be in
New Oak Hill cemetery. A military graveside will be held by the V.F.W. Post #1162.

Friends may call Tuesday, November 25, 2003 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth. There will be an I.O.O.F. service held by the Tyner Lodge # 821 on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Marshall County Hospice, 112 South Center Street, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563 or to the Bourbon United Methodist Church, 204 North Washington Street, Bourbon, Indiana, 46504.

Narciso C. Olivares Sr.

Narciso C. Olivares, Sr., 54, of 125 East Jackson Street, Plymouth, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2003 at 9:10 a.m. in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.

After fighting a long and courageous battle with illness, the Lord stepped in, and laid him to rest.

He was born February 20, 1949 in Santa Rosa, Texas to Ambrosio and Guillerminia Olivares. He spent his first three years of life in Illinois. He then moved to Plymouth where he has resided since. He was a graduate of the class of 1967 at Plymouth High School and spent 21 years working for McCord Corporation.

He enjoyed listening to music, reading, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family and friends.

In 1968, he met the woman he has spent his whole life with, Valentina (Lopez) Olivares.

Survivors include his wife, Valentina, his father, Ambrosio, three sisters; Fransisca, Martha, and Olga, one brother, Jose, three sons; Narciso, Jr. and (Shelly), Jose, and Ramiro, three daughters; Guillerminia and (Fredy) Mencias, Laura, Suzanne, and Sandra Olivares, 11 grandchildren all of Plymouth. Preceding him in death were his mother, Gillerminia, his brother, Julian, and his sister, Bertha.

Services will be held Friday, November 28, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Michael's Catholic Church with Father William Kummer officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday, November 26, 2003 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth. Rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the Van Gilder Funeral Home.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the American Diabetes Association, 7363 East 21st Street, Indianapolis, Indiana or to the American Heart Association, 2410 North Grape Road, Mishawaka, Indiana.

Donald G. Schoberg

Donald G. Schoberg, 75, of 311 Webster Street, Plymouth, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2003 at 1:15 p.m. at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

He was born on February 25, 1928 in Chicago, to George and Dorothea (Engh) Schoberg. They moved to the Tyner area in 1945.

Don and Minerva Komanich were married on February 6, 1949 in Donaldson. He served his country in the United States Army, in the Military Police, during WWII.

He was the Center Township Trustee, owner of S & H Appraisers, a member of; the Gideons, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in Bremen, where he was an Elder of the Church as well as a Bible Sunday School teacher, a member of the National Association of Realtors, and a past member of Plymouth Lions and Rotary Clubs. He was involved with the Billy Graham Crusade when they were in the Plymouth area.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Minerva, their sons; Steve and Patricia Schoberg of Plymouth, Paul and Valori Schoberg of Plymouth, their daughters; Martha and Patrick Conley of Plymouth, Vickie and Rex Miller of Plymouth, and Maria and Robert Pesak of Plymouth. Also surviving are his sisters; Dorothy Johnson of Plymouth, Gayle Stopfel of Louisville, Kentucky, and Gloria and Art Gayman of Fort Wayne, 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday, November 17, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, LCMS, in Bremen, with Rev. Roger Rohde and Rev. Neil Wonnacott officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday, November 16, 2003 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street in Plymouth.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church or to the Gideons.

Lucille M. Mast, 95, of 222 Parkview Street, Plymouth, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at 12:50 a.m. in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, exactly five years after breaking her hip.

She was born on July 20, 1908 in Maxinkuckee, Indiana to George and Ida (Skinner) Woolley and was their youngest daughter.

She married Ernest Mast on December 2, 1927 in Oak Park, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 16, 1971.

Lucille was a gifted pianist, who played for St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church on the corner of 9th and Cedar Road, southeast of Bourbon. She became their first organist when the congregation purchased a Hammond organ. She was a memeber of the church for sixty-five years. She then joined the First United Church of Christ in Plymouth.

She is survived by her daughter; Norma Jean Kuhn of Plymouth, her grandchildren; Jill and Larry Uceny and Jeff and Janet Kuhn, three great-grandchildren; Justin, Jessica, and Joshua Kuhn all of Plymouth. Lucille was preceded in death by her six brothers and three sisters.

Services will be held Saturday, November 15, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with The Rev. Dr. David Moffett-Moore and The Rev. Dr. Ronald Liecthy officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery.

Friends may call Friday, November 14, 2003 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the First United Church of Christ.

Vonnie Rae Cook, 82, of 3318 Addison Street, South Bend, passed away Friday, February 13, 2004 at 5:33 a.m. in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

She was born on July 3, 1921 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Carl and Verne (Brewer) McCreary.

Vonnie Rae married Robert Cook on July 3, 1944. Subsequent to their marriage, they lived in South Bend.

Vonnie worked for 34 years for Hertz Rent-A-Car at the Michiana Regional Airport, 20 of those years as a station manager. When she retired in 1993, she was one of the most honored employees in Hertz Corporation history, having repeatedly earned their highest customer service award.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, their sons; Kim Cook of Lafayette and Stephen and Mardene Cook of Osceola, Indiana, their daughter; Robin and Larry Nash of Northfield, Illinois, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.

Services will be held Monday, February 16, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth. Burial will be in the New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth.

Friends may call Sunday, February 15, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth.

Thad L. Vermillion, 43, of 13689 West 12th Road, Plymouth, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2004 at 8:55 p.m. in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.

He was born on March 26, 1960 in Plymouth, to Tommy and Doris (Sensibaugh) Vermilllion.

He worked for Tower Erectors in Plymouth.

Thad is survived by his sons, Ron, Corey, Kyle, and Keefe Vermillion all of Plymouth; his mother Doris Vermillion of Plymouth; his grandfather, Alfred Vermillion of Plymouth; his brothers, Jocko and Debbie Vermillion of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Rick Vermillion and Bruce and Laura Vermillion of Plymouth; his sisters, Trina and John Kreischer of Plymouth, Lorie and Bill Mann of Knox, and Janet and John Galloway of Plymouth. He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Vermillion.

Services will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Krieg officiating. Burial will be at the Maxinkuckee I.O.O.F. cemetery in Culver.

John (Johnny) W. Xaver, 69, of 315 West Garro Street, Plymouth, passed away Monday, January 26, 2004 at 12:50 p.m. at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home in Plymouth.

He was born on June 10, 1934 in Plymouth to John and Hattie (Morrow) Xaver.

John was married to Darleen Wilson from 1961 to 1978.

John was retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Plymouth Moose Lodge #741, Plymouth V.F.W. Post #1162, and Phi Delta Kappa of Plymouth, where he was a past national president.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrey and Andrea Xaver of Plymouth; his daughters, Debra and Rob Davis of Lubbock, Texas and Vicki Xaver of Plymouth; his sisters, Phyllis Nash and Joan Johnston both of Plymouth and Marilyn and Robert Leeney of Denver, Colorado; his brothers, Michael and Lori Xaver of Seattle, Washington and James and Sharon Xaver of Plymouth; four grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jessica, Kane and Abby.

Services will be held Friday, January 30, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with Rev. William Kaster officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth. The V.F.W. Post #1162 will hold a Military graveside service for John.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, January 29, 2004 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth. The Phi Delta Kappa will hold a service for John at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

Dorothy J. Wickens, 85, of 9195 Hawthorne Road, Plymouth, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2004 at 1:45 p.m. at Bremen Health Care Center in Bremen.

She was born on June 26, 1918 in Patricksburg, Indiana to Marvin and Bertha (Biddle) Lucas.

She married John W. Wickens on June 30, 1934 in Columbus, Indiana. They have been in the Marshall County area for the past 56 years.

Dorothy was active in the republican party and was first deputy to the Clerk-Treasurer of Marshall County for thirteen years. She belonged to the WSCW, Eastern Star, and the Homemaker's Club.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 69 years, John; their daughters, Elaine Amor of Cookeville, Tennessee and June and Richard Breeding of Plymouth; their sons, Marvin Wickens of Mentone and Keith and Sue Wickens of Plymouth; her brother, Marvin Lucas; 11 grandchildren, six great- grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James Richard, three sisters, and a brother.

Services will be held Monday, January 19, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with Rev. Lyle Breeding officiating. Burial will be at the Maple Grove cemetery, Argos.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, January 18, 2004 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Marahall County Hospice, 112 South Center Street, Plymouth, Indiana 46563.
