Susan Rogers, 93, of 600 Oak Hill Avenue, Plymouth, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2003 at 9:30 p.m. at Miller's Merry Manor in Plymouth.
She was born on April 4, 1910 in South Whitley, Indiana to Ralph and Sadie (Hower) Rogers.
She is survived by a niece, Mary Martin of Plymouth, and a nephew, Michael Stick of Plymouth.
Also surviving are several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services will be held Monday, August 25, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at the Woodlawn cemetery in Walkerton, Indiana.

John W. Oliver, Sr., 94, of 910 Bailey Street, Plymouth, passed away Monday, December 29, 2003 at 8:15 a.m. at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette.
He was born on May 27, 1909 in Hardin County, Kentucky to Node and Elizabeth (Langley) Oliver.
He married
Christine Jansing on September 3, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky. She passed away on October 15, 1995.
He was a member of the Plymouth Moose Lodge #741, a past member of the Plymouth Rotary Club, a member of The Auto Dealer's Association of Indiana, and a member of The National Auto Dealer's Association.
John and his family moved to Plymouth in 1955 from Huntington, Indiana and, purchased the Ford Dealership in Plymouth. John retired on January 1, 1975.
He is survived by his daughter, Sister Marilyn (Judy) Oliver of Lafayette, his son, Jack and Jana Oliver of Plymouth, his granddaughters; Jennifer and Chuck Houin and Jessica and Jeff Reynolds, of Plymouth, and a grandson, John and Michelle Oliver of Plymouth. Also surviving are his great-grandchildren, Sydney and Jeffery Oliver and Luke and Grant Houin all of Plymouth. John was preceded in death by his daughter Marilyn.
Services will be held Friday, January 2, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Michael's Catholic Church, Plymouth, with Father William Kummer and Father Roy Stiles officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday, January 1, 2004 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth.

Theda A. Grant, 92, of 522 Pennsylvania Avenue, Plymouth, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2003 at 9 :15 p.m. in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth.
She was born on June 10, 1911 in Madison, Wisconsin to Wallace and Murtle (Brown) Fusch.
She married
Gether Grant on January 1, 1935 in Madison, Wisconsin. After 40 years of marriage, he passed away on February 8, 1975. She moved to Plymouth in 1933.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter # 26, The Saturday Club, was active with the Republican Party, and ran the Marshall County License Branch. Theda was also Marshall County's first probation officer.
Theda is survived by her daughter, Betty and Robert Kuhn of Plymouth, her son, Roy and Barb Grant of Yorktown, Indiana, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth.
Visitation with the family will be Monday, December 29, 2003 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth.

Esther R. Rogers, 101, of 600 Oak Hill Avenue, Plymouth, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at 7:20 p.m. in Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth.
She was born on September 2, 1902 in Marshall County to John and Mary (Crum) York.
Esther married
Leo Rogers on August 1, 1925 in LaPorte, Indiana. After 63 years of marriage, Leo passed away on May 30, 1994. She was also preceded in death by four sisters; Eva, Erma, Edna, and Ruby; a brother, Eurple, and an infant brother.
She was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, of Donaldson, for 70 years, Covenant Women and Friendship Class, of the church, and a member of the Indiana Teacher's Association. Esther was a first grade teacher. She taught for 36 years and retired from West High School. She loved teaching and always referred to her students as "her kids". Esther, and her husband Leo, loved to garden. Every year they would plant an extra large garden. They shared the produce with their family and friends. She was also an avid collector of antiques.
Esther is survived by two sisters; Elsie Perdew of Wheeler, Indiana and Lucy Lute of Valpariso, Indiana. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held Monday, December 29, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with Rev. Glen Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 28, 2003 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street in Plymouth.

Florence Clough Underwood, 96, of 4100 North River Road, Warren, Ohio, formerly of Plymouth, died at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at her residence.
Mrs. Underwood was born July 15. 1907 in Plymouth. She was the daughter of Charles and Alice Woodbury Clough. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School. Florence married
Paul B. Underwood on August 22, 1935. Mr .Underwood passed away on May 20, 1996.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Ned Underwood of Howland, Ohio. Florence was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Robert, Arthur, and Charles.
Mrs. Underwood worked for the Indiana Public Service Commission and retired from Camp Fire Girls Council Office.
She was a lifelong member of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church. She belonged to Eastern Star and Tri Kappa and enjoyed needlework, ceramics, basketball, and gardening.
A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Thomas Episcopal Church with Father John Schramm officiating. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery.

Leonard (Lenny) Retske, 32, of Plymouth, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2003 at 6:55 p.m. in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.
He was born on June 17, 1971 in Puerto Rico to Myron and Karen (Criggall) Retske.
On September 16, 2000, in Culver, Lenny married
Lori Patrick.
Lenny was a paramedic and a volunteer fireman with the City of Plymouth. He spent six years in the Indiana National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Lori, two sons; Luke and Logan at home, a brother, Allen Retske of Lake Village, Indiana, a half-sister, Amanda Retske of Florida, a half-brother, David Retske, who is in the service in Korea, his father, Gene Retske of Florida, and his mother, Karen Spencer of Dayton, Ohio.
Services will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth. Cremation will take place after the service.

The Reverend Canon Bradley McCormick, 89, of 1311 West Jefferson Street, Plymouth, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2003 at 7:12 p.m. at his home in Plymouth.
He was born on October 19, 1914 in Sewickley, Pennsylvania to Thomas and Louise (Roberts) McCormick.
He was ordained a priest, by the late Bishop Austin Pardue, on Saint Thomas' Day, December 21, 1953 and preparations were under way for a celebration of his Golden Jubilee, when he died.
Following services in the Diocese of Pittsburg, he transferred to the Diocese of Northern Indiana in 1957. He then served parishes in Fort Wayne and Warsaw for many years.
In 1974 Bishop William C.R. Sheridan appointed "Father Mac" Canon to the Ordinary, and Administrative Assistant. He served in that position, with distinction, until 1987. Following his retirement, he became assisting priest at Saint Thomas Church in Plymouth, where he was greatly loved for his devotion and sense of humor.
He was a amateur historian with some expertise in the 18th Century and collected historical manuscripts and autographs since his youth. He was also an expert on Sherlock Holmes and Charles Dickson. He was a holy priest, faithful to his vows, and was a member of several devoted societies. He was contributor to many charitable works throughout his life.
"Father Mac" was an unmarried
priest, and died without any living relatives. The Requiem and
funeral service will be held at Saint Thomas Church on Friday, December 12th at 11:00 a.m. Bishop Edward Stuart Little will celebrate the Eucharist, assisted by Bishop Sheridan and Father John Schramm, pastor of Saint Thomas.
Memorial contributions may be given to Saint Thomas Church.

Junior E. Reutebuch, 76, of 1203 Sycamore Street, Plymouth, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at 5:00 a.m. in his home.
He was born on June 5, 1927 in Pulaski, Indiana to John and Cora (Link) Reutebuch.
On February 12, 1955, in Lakeville, he married
Evelyn Marsh and moved to Plymouth in 1955.
Junior was a retired brick mason and belonged to Local #18. He served his country in the Army during WWII in the European Theater. He belonged to the V.F.W. Post #1162, American Legion Post #27, and the Plymouth Moose Lodge #741.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, two daughters; Marsha and Pete Martin of Plymouth, and Nanci and Steve Snyder of Culver, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, seven sisters, and a brother. Junior was preceded in death by his son, Vic, and four brothers.
Services will be held Sunday, November 30, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with Rev. Thomas Padberg officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery. Military graveside services will be held by the V.F.W. Post #1162 and the American Legion Post #27.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 29, 2003 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth.
