Larry D. Hannah, 54, of 820 North Plum Street, Plymouth, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2003, at 8:08 p.m. at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center Plymouth Campus.
He was born on January 12, 1949, in Marshall County, to Herschil and Ruth (Harris) Hannah.
He married
Pearl Odle Hannah on July 25, 1986 in Plymouth, Indiana.
He worked for Performance Plus, as a janitor, and was a member of the Shiloh Wesleyan Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl, their son, Jason Hannah of Plymouth, his sisters; Fern Marie and Harold Bradley of Knox, Mary Weedling of Plymouth, and Karen Nethercutt of Lapaz, a brother, Herschil and Linda Hannah of Bourbon, Indiana, and a step-brother, Kenneth and Penney Kennedy of Plymouth. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joann Hurford.
Services will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. at the Shiloh Wesleyan Church in Plymouth with Rev. John Perkinson officiating. There will visitation at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday, September 30, 2003, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, in Plymouth.

Marjorie Helen (Arick) Rice of 13th Street, Rochester, was born on July 25, 1921 in Ashton, Idaho. She went home to be with the Lord, after a long illness, at the age of 82, on September 23, 2003. She had resided at The Life Care Center, in Rochester, since 1999.
Marjorie married
Robert Edwin Rice, Sr. on June 21, 1941, in Argos, Indiana. She was a lifetime resident of Argos. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers; Harold and Donald Arick, four sisters; Dorothy Keck, Faye Arick, Mildred Grim, and Ruth Brown.
She is survived by eight children; three daughters; Sharon and Paul Fox of Angola, Indiana, Judy and Mike Kelly of Quincy, Illinois, and Jane and Chris Kiefer of Sheridan, Indiana, five sons; Robert E., Jr. and Bonnie Rice of Milford, Indiana, Larry and Christie Rice of Plymouth, David and Carol Rice of Plymouth, Dan and Angie Rice of Plymouth, and Richard and Danita Rice of Argos. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, on Friday, September 26, 2003, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will also be visitation from 9:30 a.m. to time of the service at the church on Saturday. The funeral will be at The Walnut Church of the Brethren on Saturday, September 27, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. in Argos. The church is located at the corner of 19th and Gumwood Roads. Pastor Tony Schneiders will be officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Church cemetery.

Marjorie devoted her entire life to her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Robert S. Barker, Jr., 61, of 635 Pennsylvania Avenue, Plymouth, passed away Monday, September 22, 2003 at 10:09 a.m. in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth Campus.
He was born on June 7, 1942 in Guilford, Connecticut to Robert, Sr. and Blanche (Morgan) Barker.
Bob was employed by Burns Construction in Rochester. He was an avid golfer and loved working in his workshop making beautiful furniture. He also loved working in his garden, but most of all he loved spending time with those he held most dear. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by, his son, Scott and Kaylinn Barker and his daughter, Wendy and Tom Swanson, and four grandchildren all of Phoenix, a sister Pat Barker of Tampa, Florida, and special friend, Marcia Pownall of Plymouth.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, September 28, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, in Plymouth, with Rev. Rick Gaul officiating.

Eleanor Marie Hopple, 76, of 17036 Tamarack Road, Culver, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2003, at 6:00 a.m. at her home in Culver.
She was born on November 24, 1926, in Chicago, to Dr. Elmer and Myrtle (Edgington) Leininger. .
Eleanor married
George E. Hopple on November 23, 1958, in Culver, at The Wesley United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Eleanor moved to Culver from Chicago, in 1958.
Eleanor was a registered nurse and had been a supervisor at the Grant Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. She also helped with the bookkeeping at their business, Hopple Trucking and Excavating.
She is survived by her husband, George, Sr., their son, Geroge, Jr. of Culver, a grandson, Jonathon Hopple of Culver, a step-grandson, Brett Porter of Culver, a brother John G. Leininger of Brownsburg, Indiana, nieces; Barbara Goddard of Avon, Indiana and Janet O'Neill of Wheeling, Illinois, and a nephew, Bill Leininger of Prospect Heights, Illinois.
Services will be held Monday, September 8, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Culver, with Rev. Linda Craig officiating. Burial will be at the Leiters Ford cemetery in Leiters Ford.

John T. Brown, 61, of 10150 Squire Drive, Plymouth, passed away Monday, September 1, 2003 at 4:00 a.m. at his home in Plymouth.
He was born on April 20, 1942, in Valparaiso to Charles and Mary (McKeigue) Brown. The family moved to Marshall County in 1943.
John married
Mary Anne Nycz on September 18, 1965.
John owned and operated the John Brown Plumbing and Heating business, most recently with Cal Barker, his fellow firefighter. John started his fire department career as a volunteer and was then hired as a full time firefighter with the City of Plymouth. He was appointed Fire Chief and E.M.S. Director, in January of 2000. He served his community for 34 years. John belonged to the Indiana Fire Chief's Association, Indiana Fire Instructor's Association, Indiana Fire Inspector's Association, which he was a charter member, Indiana Volunteer Fire Fighter's Association, Indiana Fire Fighter's Association, and the National Fire Academy Alumni Association.
He was a member of V.F.W. Post #1162, American Legion Post #27, Loyal Order of the Moose #741, 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, Council #1975, Plymouth, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Father Nieuwland Assembly, South Bend, and Saint Michael's Catholic Church. John served his country in the United States Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne, their son, John Steven Brown, his brothers, Robert (Darlene) Brown and James Brown of Plymouth, his sisters; Pat Lewis of Warsaw, Theresa Mitchell, Ruth (Jerry) Ecker, and Myrna (Ted) Schafer, all of Plymouth, his sisters-in-law; Carolyn (Ron) Woolley of Plymouth, Lois Ruffner of Arlington, Virginia, Ruth Brooks of Blairsville, Georgia, a brother-in-law, Joe (Mary) Nycz of Castle Rock, Colorado, and his nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Charles Brown, and his sister, Marita Cihlar.
Services will be held Friday, September 5, 2003 at 10:30 a.m., at Saint Michael's Catholic Church in Plymouth, with Father Bernard Galic officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery.

Hugh F. Martin, 60, of 19309 Apple Road, Tippecanoe, passed away Monday, August 25, 2003 at 7:16 a.m. in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
He was born on January 24, 1943 in Plymouth to Gerald and Kathleen (Towne) Martin.
He was a Plymouth High School graduate of the class of 1961. Hugh worked for Plymouth L.P. Gas for 30 years. He was an honorary member of the Starke County Abate Club.
Hugh is surivied by his parents; Gerald and Kathleen Martin of Tippecanoe, his sisters; Lorraine and Dick Davenport of Plymouth, and Carol and Bob Krueger of Fort Wayne, his brother, Carl and Nancy Martin of Plymouth, his nieces; Londa Dunlap, of Tippecanoe, Pam Brown of Plymouth, Chris Hollar of Argos, and Kathy Blake of Leo, Indiana, 13 great-nieces and great-nephews and a great-great-niece and great-great-nephew.

She was born on December 9, 1905 in Fulton, County, to Elmer and Frances (Rodobaugh Coplen.
She married
Russell C. Filson on December 16, 1923. He passed away on May 27, 1963. She also was preceded in death by her daughter, Theada Carlysle, her two sisters and her two brothers.
Grace was a member of the Inwood United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sons; Lowell (Lamora) Filson and Banks (Rudy) Filson both of Plymouth, her daughters; Cathryn (Virgil) Kulwicki of Willis Point, Texas and Carol Thompson of El Cajon, California, her sister, Fern Achberger of Munice, Indiana, 15 grandchildren, 29 great- grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, August 30, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with Rev. Michael Dixon officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery.

Doris E. Wloch, 74, of 16321 Pretty Lake Road, Plymouth, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2003 at 6:45 a.m. at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
She was born on March 24, 1929 in Chicago to Fred and Murril (Loucks) Murdock.
Doris married
her true love, Frank Wloch on November 9, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. They moved to Pretty Lake in 1951.
Their beloved daughter Sandy passed away on April 29, 1977 and Frank passed away on December 5, 1990. Also preceding her in death were her sisters; Joan (Andrew) Vernum and Shirley (Ray) Laffoon, and her brothers; Bob Murdock and Billy (Terry) McDermott.
Doris was a loving mother and wife, a superb cook, a published poet, and a songstress. She was retired from Bomarko and was a member of Saint Michael's Catholic Church in Plymouth.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Fran Walterhouse and her husband Gary DeBruler, who cared for Doris during her long illness, and their Teddy, of Stafford, Virginia; her son, John Wloch and his wife Darla, and their son, Johnny, who was the light of Doris' life, of Plymouth; her sisters, Jean (Rock) Rochfort of Dyer, Indiana, Janette (Pat) Stelling of, Florida, and Mildred(Russell) Smith of Illinois. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Michael's Catholic Church in Plymouth, with Father Eddie Ssebbowa officiating. Burial will be in the New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth.
