William Francis Xaver, 83, of North Michigan Street, Plymouth, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2003 at 5:30 AM in his home.
He was born on November 29, 1919 in Plymouth to Benjamin and Florence (Richard) Xaver.
He married
Irene Pickavet on September 11, 1943 in South Bend, Indiana.
Francis was a member of Saint Micheal's Catholic Church and of the Knights of Columbus. He served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corp as a 1st Lieutenant. He loved to walk and was walking 100 miles a month.
For ten years Francis worked at his grocery store at the corner of Jefferson and North Plum Streets. Later he worked at Ancilla in the maintenance department and retired from there.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Xaver; his daughters, Jancie Xaver of Washington, DC., Eloise (Frank) Geiselhofer of Burbank, Illinois, Lynda Xaver of Athens, Alabama, Lu Ann (Michael) Falkowski of Plymouth, and Jeanine Xaver of Plymouth; his sons, Bill (Judy) Xaver of Plymouth, Gerard Xaver of Buchanan, Michigan, Joseph (Angie) Xaver of Virden, Illinois; his sisters, Adalene Schoner of Donaldson, Lorraine Havens of South Bend; a brother, Gerald (Jackie) Xaver of Greenville, South Carolina; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one son Paul.
Services will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at 10:30 AM in Saint Michael's Catholic Church, Plymouth, with Father Emmanuel Chikezie officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday, June 3, 2003 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, in Plymouth. Rosary will be recited at 8:00 PM on Tuesday.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Donor's Choice.

Elizabeth Craige Luty, 93, of 1324 Wooster Road, Winona Lake, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2003, at 7:30 AM at Grace Village at Winona Lake.
She was born on February 24, 1910, in Marshall County to Floyd and Hattie (Strole) Miller.
She married
Elvin Craige on June 10, 1941. He passed away on October 10, 1983. She then married
Kenneth Luty on December 29, 1987.
She attended Manchester College and graduated from Bethel College in 1956. She taught for the Plymouth School System for 42 years. Many of the 42 years were spent teaching at the West Township School.
Elizabeth was a member of the Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist Church and taught bible school and Sunday school classes for 65 years. When she married
Kenneth she moved her membership to the Bourbon First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth, a son, James (Sandra) Craige of Ocala, Florida, a sister, Mary (Don) Trease of Warsaw, Indiana, a step-son, Bob (Mary Lou) Luty of Mishawaka, Indiana, a step-daughter, Sue Sell of Plymouth, a nephew Don W. Trease of South Bend, Indiana, a niece Marie (Mauri) Bordner of Columbia City, Indiana, 10 step-grandchildren and many step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday, June 5, 2003, at 10:30 AM at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with Rev. Robert Raschka officiating. Burial will be at the New Oak Hill cemetery in Plymouth.

Ruth E. Bradford, 74, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away Friday, May 30, 2003 in Las Vegas.
She was born on November 23, 1928 in South Bend, Indiana.
She was married
to Carl J. Bradford. They have been living in Las Vegas for the last 20 years.
She is survived by her husband Carl; her daughters, Pamela Miller and Jody Bradford both of San Carlos, California, and Lisa Bradford of Las Vegas, Nevada; her sons, Mark Bradford of Palmdale, California, Kirk Bradford of Edwardsburg, Michigan, and Michael Bradford of Las Vegas, Nevada. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Friday, June 6, 2003 at 1:30 PM in the New Oak Hill Chapel.

Jack L. Reinholt, 61, of 11252 Timber Lane, Plymouth, passed away Monday, May 12, 2003 at 5:47 p.m. at his home in Plymouth.
He was born on March 28, 1942 in Monterey, Indiana to Donald and Ruby (Beachamp) Reinholt.
He married
Susie Cole on July 9, 1966 in Plymouth.
Jack was a1960 graduate of the Aubbeen Aubbee Township School. He proudly served his country in the Army from 1960 to1963. He attended the Murry State School in Kentucky. He loved his family, golf, and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Susie, daughters; Carrie and Tom Wiers, and Kelly Reinholt, grandsons; Christian and Caleb Wiers all of Plymouth, brothers; Donald Reinholt of Warsaw, Indiana, Ronald Reinholt and Stanley Reinholt, both of Leiters Ford, Indiana.
Services will be held Sunday, May 18, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home 300 West Madison Street in Plymouth.

Valeria M. Liszewski, 83, of 600 Oak Hill Avenue, Plymouth, passed away Friday, May 9, 2003 at 11:05 p.m. in Miller's Merry Manor of Plymouth.
She was born on September 24, 1919 in Chicago, to Thomas and Mary (Perek) Wrobel.
Valeria married
Walter Liszewski in August of 1946 and he passed away in March of 1965.
She moved to the Marshall County area 15 years ago from Chicago. She had spent some of her childhood years here. In 1982, after 38 years, Valeria retired from American Can Company, in Chicago. She was member of Saint Michael's Catholic Church and enjoyed bingo.
Valeria is survived by her sister, Natalie Falkowski of Plymouth, nieces; Joanne and Henry Orlikowski of Connecticut, Rita and Al Wojcik of Plymouth, Patricia and Gerald Platt of Auroa, Illinois, and Barbara Navarro of Chicago, Illinois, nephews; Eugene Falkowski of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Michael and Luann Falkowski of Plymouth. A brother, Matthew Wrobel, preceded her in death in 1951. There are several great-nieces and great-nephews that survive.
Services will be held Wednesday May 14, 2003 at 10:30 AM in Saint Michael's Catholic Church in Plymouth. Father Emmanuel Chikezie will be officiating. Burial will be at the New Oak Hill cemetery in Plymouth.
Friends may call Tuesday, May 13, 2003 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street in Plymouth. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Tommy Lee Overmyer, 54, of 802 East Ferndale Street, Plymouth, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at 1:41 AM in St. Joseph RMC, Plymouth Campus.
He was born on February 14, 1949 in Rochester, Indiana to Doyle and Ida Mae (Good) Overmyer. They moved to Plymouth in 1951.
He married
Connie McCollough on May 1, 1971 in Plymouth.
He was a Plymouth High School graduate and worked in the construction business.
He is survived by his wife, Connie of Plymouth, daughter, Colleen and Rodney Slyh, Sr. of Plymouth, grandson, Rodney Slyh, Jr. of Plymouth, granddaughter, Carlie Slyh of Plymouth, his father and mother, Doyle and Ida Mae Overmyer of Plymouth, and his brother Ronald Overmyer of Plymouth.

Ermid G. (Mud) Hoffman, 87, of 2009 Felix Place, Plymouth, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at 8:30 a.m. in Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth.
He was born on April 15, 1916 in Argos to Truman and Liona (McGriff) Hoffman.
Mud married
Pauline I. Bennett on June 24, 1939 in Plymouth, Indiana.
He worked for NIPSCO for 42 years He served in the area of sales and Area Development and public relations. Mud and Polly have lived all over northern Indiana. He retired in 1980 and moved back to Plymouth in 1982. Mud was an Eagle Scout, and belonged to The Masonic Lodge of Crown Point, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite of South Bend, and The Shriners of Michigan City. He was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder for the First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth. Mud was an active supporter of the Marshall County Historical Society. He had 48 years of perfect attendance at Rotary Cub and was past president of The Rotary Club in Gary. He also went all 12 years through school without being absent. Mud served his country during WWII in the Army as an Officer and was stationed in Carlisle Barracks in Pennsylvania as an instructor in the Medical Field Service School. After the war was over, he stayed in the reserves and retired in 1979 as a Lt. Col. He was a member of the American Legion and the Reservists Officers Association.
Mud was a graduate of Purdue University, North Central Campus. Governor Robert Orr was the speaker at the commencement and presented Mud with his diploma. Mud was an active supporter of the Marshall County Purdue Alumni Association.
Mud was a member of a variety of civic and charitable organizations in the Lake County area. He also spent several years as an Indiana High School Athletic Association Referee, serving the basketball teams of the greater Northern Indiana area.
Mud was a former member of the Plymouth Country Club. He stopped his twice weekly games about five years ago, but continued to play various outings, especially the Rotary Outing.
During his retirement, Mud was noted for making and restoring golf clubs. He also collected golf clubs.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Polly ) of 64 years, and his extended family, Sam and Karen Schlosser, John and Jana Schlosser and William and Ann Schlosser all of Plymouth; J.V. and Millicent Schlosser Eckhart, Jacob and Kathleen Schlosser and Phillip and Kathy Schlosser of Columbus, Ohio; Curits and Margaret Holdridge and Ada May and Sid Richardson of Oklahoma; and Elizabeth Schlosser Thomas of Arizona. Mud is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by all of his brothers and sisters and a first cousin once removed (Joan Patzer Galt Davidoff)
Services will be held Wednesday May 7, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Plymouth, with Rev. Lester Johnson and Rev. Steve Mullin officiating. Burial will be at the New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth.
Friends may call Tuesday, May 6, 2003 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street in Plymouth. Also at the church one hour prior to the service.
