Mildred L.( Millie) Heiser, 81, of 20013 West 16th Road, Culver, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at 10:46 PM, at Miller's Merry Manor, Culver.
She was born on September 12, 1921, in Silver Lake, Indiana to Eugene and Cleo (Smith) Way.
She married
David E. Heiser on December 20, 1949 in Upland, Indiana. They moved to the family Heiser farm in 1952 from Silver Lake.
Millie was a dedicated wife and mother. During WWII Millie worked as a secretary and a piano accompanist for a radio program know as GI for Christ out of Waukegan, Illinois. Both David and Millie were well known for their musical evangelism.
She is survived by a son, Mark Heiser of Culver.
Services will be held Monday, April 7, 2003, at 1:30 PM at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with Rev. Joe Howe officiating. Burial will be at the Silver Lake cemetery in Silver Lake, Indiana.

Jane Gibson Bidwell, 92, of 634 South Michigan Street, Plymouth, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2003 at 9:30 PM at Union Medical Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana, while visiting her daughter and son-in-law.
She was born on December 12, 1910 in Plymouth to C. Herbert and Harriette (Jacoby) Gibson.
She married
George E. Bidwell on December 15, 1939. He passed away December 28, 1970.
Jane graduated from Plymouth High School in 1928 and attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. She was a lifetime member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, a lifetime member of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, in Plymouth, and a member of Tri Kappa Sorority since 1928. She was an executive secretary for NIPSCO in Hammond, Indiana and later in Plymouth, Indiana. Jane worked with her husband at Plymouth Glass Company for many years and was employed as an executive secretary with Gibson Insurance Group in Plymouth since 1965.
She is survived by a daughter Barbara Bidwell Alcock and her husband Richard J. Alcock of Terre Haute, Indiana; four grandchildren, Stephen Richard Alcock and Cathy Alcock of Deerfield Beach, Florida, Ann Alcock Froderman and Chris Froderman of Avon, Indiana, John Christopher Alcock and Kelly Alcock of Zionsville, Indiana, Andrew Matthew Alcock and Lea Alcock of Evansville, Indiana; thirteen great-grandchildren, Lindsay Nicole, Jane Soleille, and Lauren Noelle Alcock of Deerfield Beach, Florida, Christopher Jacoby, Caraline, and Casey James Froderman of Avon, Indiana, Nicholas Mahoney, William Lee and Benjamin James Alcock of Zionsville, Indiana, Jacob Andrew, Luke Matthew, Lillian Maryanna and Cecilia Rose Alcock of Evansville, Indiana.
Other survivors include Stephen and Rose Willis of Orlando, Florida, David D. and Ginny Gibson of Plymouth Indiana, Gwen Gibson Morris and Thom of Greencastle, Indiana, Thomas C. and Cheryl Gibson of Nashville, Tennessee, Kevin Willis, Stephanie Willis Britz, Gayle and Jim Eck, Cameron Gibson, Cathryan and Jim Ensley, Ashley, Kathryn, and Andrew Gibson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Pauline Gibson Willis and one brother Dan A. Gibson.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Saint Thomas Episcopal Church in Plymouth with Father John Schramm officiating.

Alice Griggs Franklin, 101, of 600 Oak Hill Avenue, Plymouth, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2003 at 8:25 PM in Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth, Indiana.
She was born on September 30, 1901 in Bourbon to William and Eldora (Stine) Montague.
Alice married
Harry W. Griggs on June 1, 1920 and he passed away on January 8, 1968, she then married
Roy Franklin on February, 1977 and he passed away on April 11, 1985.
She was a member of the House of Prayer United Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by son, Robert (Bud) and Mable Griggs of Plymouth; three daughters, Juanita Hanthorne of Plymouth, Donna Grossman of Plymouth, and Bertha Palmer of Plymouth; sisters, Hazel Whiteman of South Bend, and Dorothy Black of Warsaw; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday, April 3, 2003 at 1:00 PM at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with Rev. Ronald Humphrey officiating. Burial will be at the New Oak Hill cemetery.

Ronald O. Starr, 54, of 1206 North Plum Street, Plymouth, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at 11:01 AM at his home in Plymouth, Indiana.
He was born on May 22, 1948 in Warsaw to Harold and Marie (Crabb) Starr.
He worked for the Fulton-Marshall County CO-OP doing deliveries, taking care of the grounds and helping with the maintenance on the trucks. Ronald served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam and the Gulf war. He received the following decorations: the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, with one bronze star, Army Lapel Button, South Asia Service Medal, with two bronze service stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, with one silver service star, Combat Medical Badge, Bronze Star Medal (2nd oak Leaf Cluster) Air Medal, Overseas Service Bar (3), Army Good Conduct Medal (3rd Award), Driver and Mechanic Badge, Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle), Expert Badge(Grenade).
He is survived by his mother, Marie Starr of Plymouth; brothers, Larry and Dorothy Starr of Plymouth, and Glenn and Linda Starr of Plymouth; sisters, Roseanna Starr of Plymouth, Janice and Donald Sisco of Monterey, Indiana, Wanda and David Barlag of Brunswich, Maine. He was preceded in death by his father Harold and a brother Allen.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, March 30, 2003 at 3:00 PM at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth with Rev. David Kerkove officiating.

Merial Ann (Lozier) Wiedeman, 64, a recent resident of Garden Court East, died
Saturday, March 16, 2003. She died due to complications from pneumonia at St. Joseph's Hospital of Marshall County.
Merial was a lifetime resident of Marshall County, except for three years when she and her husband farmed in Missouri. She was a member of Plymouth Baptist Church. She worked for Pathfinder Services for 12 years. Merial went above and beyond her duties for her clients. Merial will be remembered for her genuine concern for others and her undying love for her family. Most of all, she had a quiet, sweet spirit and patience of gold.
Merial was born to Berl and Dorothy Lozier on June 19, 1938, they preceded her in death. Merial married
Jay Wiedeman on June 29, 1957. Jay preceded her in death, July 16, 2002. A daughter, Angela a granddaughter, Susan, two sisters, Delores Carpenter and Beverly Blackford also preceded her in death.
Proverbs 31:28, "Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he
praises her". Our loss is Heaven's gain. She was the cherished mother of one son and three daughters, eleven grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
David (Helen) Wiedeman, Leonard, MO, along with their children Heather and Brian; Aimee (Stan) Ellinger, Plymouth, along with their children Sarah (Thomas) Fuhrman, Samuel and Seth;
Monica (Nick) Southwell, Plymouth, along with their children Tyler, Spencer, and Miranda;
Andrea (Michael) Blum, Plymouth, along with their children Jennifer, Alexander, Abbygael; and one great-granddaughter, Samantha Fuhrman.
Van Glider Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be on Saturday, March 22, at 5:00 p.m., at Plymouth Baptist Church, 11345 9A Road Plymouth. Pastor Douglas Jividen will officiate. There will be a time of visitation and refreshments with the family following the service. Memorial contributions can be made to Gideon Bibles or the Neighborhood Center.

Maxine R. McLean, 80, of 5980 Highway 17, Plymouth, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2003 at 8:15 AM at her home in Plymouth.
She was born on August 17, 1922 in Plymouth to Paul and Elsie (Harris) Rains.
She married
Neil McLean on February 7, 1942. He passed away on January 3, 1987.
Maxine retired from Bendix Corporation. She and Neil owned and operated the Plymouth Skating Palace in Plymouth from 1966 to 1987.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia and Cal Barker of Plymouth, Indiana; a son, Michael and Sharon McLean of Plymouth, Indiana; sisters, Pauline Rains Phillippe of Florida and Ruth Rains Nelson of California; grandchildren, Andrew Barker, Megan Barker, Abigail Barker, Mary Ann and Jim Hickman and a great-grandchild, Katie Hickman of all from Plymouth. Several nieces and nephews also survive. One sister Marilyn, preceded her in death. Also surviving is a half-sister, Jane Mrak and a half-brother, Rick Rains, both from Indiana.
Services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at 10:30 AM at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with Rev. Larry Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at the New Oak Hill cemetery.

Karen Sue Carmean, 42, died on Friday, March 7, 2003 surrounded by her loving family and friends after a 10 month courageous and dignified battle with cancer. Karen was born on June 13, 1960 to Robert and Joyce Gibbons. On August 23, 1980, Karen was joined in marriage with Darrell Carmean. Karen is survived by two children, Gary and Darla and was proceeded in death by a son, Eric in January of 1983. Karen is also survived by her brother John (Sue) Gibbons of South Bend and their children, David, Keaton and Erica Jones, two sisters, Brenda (Kevin) Case of South Bend and their children, Patrick and Katie Conner, and Linda (Scott) Riley of San Clemente, California and their children, Susanne, Sean and Patrick.
Karen was a lifetime resident of Plymouth and has always been active in her community and church She was a 1978 graduate of Plymouth High School. While in high school Karen was active in the Rainbow Society. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. Prior to her illness, Karen was both a Sunday School and a Bible School Preschool Teacher, worked in the Midweek Miracle Program and assisted with the children's cherub choir. Karen was a member and officer of Mother's Club and Director of Crib Rooms for Sunday morning services. Karen was a former member of the chancel choir. On Sunday, February 23, 2003, Karen was awarded the Blondena V. Kaizer Award by the church. This award was presented to Karen for her religious background, high moral standards, and her love for children, her fellow citizens, and her church. Karen worked with special needs children at Menominee School for the Plymouth Community Schools, and at Wal-Mart in Plymouth. Karen was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to everyone who knew her.
Visitation to celebrate Karen's life will be held at Van Gilder Funeral Home at 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth on Sunday, March 9 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 400 North Michigan Street, Plymouth at 11:00 a.m.Monday, March 10. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Of Marshall County or The First United Methodist Church.

He worked at the Culver Military Academy in Culver at the boat shop. Jerry served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Eskridge of Culver, a daughter, Jean Ann and Ronald Groning of Mishawaka; a son, Joseph Kolar of San Antonio, Texas; brothers, Charles and Elaine Eskridge of Beech Grove, Indiana and Arthur and Jean Eskridge of Mc Henry, Illinois and Lee Eskridge of Plymouth; a sister, Judy and Al Jenkinson of Kewanna, Indiana; and four grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with Rev. Leon Pomeroy officiating. Burial will be at the Burr Oak cemetery
with military graveside by the Culver VFW Post #6919.
