Mary Lucille Strong, 92, of 222 Parkview St., Plymouth, passed away Tuesday January 15, 2002 at 3:30 AM at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home in Plymouth.

She was born on August 25, 1909 in Tippecanoe, IN to William and Blanche Waddle Harmon.She worked for the Montgomery Wards for 30 years and retired in 1974.

She attended the Sunrise Chapel of Plymouth IN.

She is survived by Her Son, William and Carolyn Strong of Plymouth, In, Brother, Harold Harmon of Columbia City, IN, Sister, Carrie (Bud) Cripe of Ocala, FL, 4 Grandchildren, 7 Great grandchildren, 4 Great-Great Grandchildren, She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Visitation will be held Thursday January 17, 2002 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St. Plymouth. Services will be held Friday January 18, 2002 at 1:30 PM at Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with Pastor Rustin Krapfl officiating. Burial will be at New Oak Hill cemetery in Plymouth, In.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Alzheimer's Disease, 425 N. Michigan St. South Bend, IN.

Alice G. Laughlin, 91, of 500 Walkerton Tr., Walkerton, IN, passed away Monday, April 15, 2002 at 3:05 PM at the Miller's Merry Manor of Walkerton, IN.

She was born on March 6, 1911 in Maxinkuckee, IN, to George and Ida (Skinner) Woolley.

Alice married Dewey Laughlin, they lived in South Bend, IN from 1955 to 1994 when they moved down to Walkerton, IN. Alice had been a bank teller at the St. Joseph Bank in South Bend, IN.

She is survived by Niece, Norma Jean Kuhn of Plymouth, IN, Niece, Barbara (Russell) Ulery of Culver, IN, Niece, Thelma Woolley of Plymouth IN, Nephew, Daniel (Clara) Woolley of Plymouth, IN, and several great-nieces and nephews. Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Dewey on Feb.8, 1995.

Services will be held Thursday April 18, 2002 at 1:00 PM at Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, IN, with Fr. John Schramm officiating. Burial will be at the New Oak Hill cemetery, in Plymouth IN.

Friends may call Thursday, 4/18/2002 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth.

Annabelle V. Nixon, 87, 1667 Sheridan Road, Noblesville, passed away Wednesday July 3, 2002 at 6:55 PM at Harbor Manor Nursing Home in Noblesville, Indiana.

She was born on April 25, 1915 in Rochester, Indiana to Clem and Rose Bowen Miller.

Annabelle and William (AL) Nixion were married April 25, 1939 in South Bend, Indiana. The Nixon family moved from Rochester to Plymouth in 1950. Annabelle moved to her daughter's home in Noblesville in 1999.

Annabelle worked at the City Clerk's office of Rochester and as a bookkeeper at the Schemberger Music Store of Plymouth. She retired from the Indiana State Highway Department.

She was a member of the Methodist Church of Rochester, Indiana.

She is survived by Her Daughter, Karla Mitchell of Noblesville, IN, Son, Bill and Sibyl Nixon of Lake Wales, FL, 11 Grandchildren, 14 Great-grandchildren, Brother, Donald Miller of Columbia City, IN, sister-in-law, Mable Daulton of, Rochester, IN. She was preceded in death by Her Husband William (AL) (March 16, 1994) and two brothers, Russ and Virgil.

Visitation will be held Monday July 8, 2002 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Van Gilder Funeral Home 300 West Madison Street in Plymouth, Indiana. Services will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at 11:00 AM at Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, Indiana, with Rev. Charles Krieg officiating. Burial will be at Rochester IOOF No. 47 cemetery in Rochester, Indiana.

Lillian E. Ruffner, 89, of 10150 Squire Drive, Plymouth, passed away Wednesday May 8, 2002 at 6:30 AM, at her daughter's home in Plymouth, IN.

She was born on December 3, 1912 in South Bend IN, to Walter and Marianna Kolacz.

Lillian and John P. Nycz were married on September 5, 1938 and he died on November 8, 1948. She then married O. W. (Wayne) Ruffner on September 2, 1950 and he died on September 30, 1978.

Lillian had worked in the grocer business in South Bend with her family and when she moved to Argos, IN she had worked at the Stephenson's Grocer and worked as a meat cutter then with her husband on the hog farm. She has been in the Argos and Plymouth area for 50 yrs.

She was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church of Plymouth, Indiana, the Altar Rosary Society, and the Whippoorwill Ladies Aid of Argos.

She is survived by Her Daughters, Mary Anne and John T. Brown of Plymouth, IN and Carolyn and Ron Woolley of Plymouth, IN.

One son, Joseph and Mary J. Nycz of Castle Rock, CO, Step-daughter, Ruth Brooks of Blairsville, GA, Daughter-in-law, Lois Ruffner of Arlington, VA, brothers, William Kolacz, Ted Kolacz, and Al Kolacz all of South Bend, IN.

She also has 6 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 12 step-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a grandchild and a step-grandchild, two step-sons John M.
and Leland Ruffner, two brothers, John T. Kolacz Sr. and Louis A. Kolacz and two sisters, Sophie R. Wrobel and Phyllis Nowak.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 10, 2002 from 4:00 PM to 8:00PM at Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street in Plymouth, IN. Services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2002 at 10:30 AM at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Plymouth, IN with Fr. Emmanuel Chikezie officiating.

Burial will be at New Oak Hill cemetery in Plymouth, IN. Rosary will be recited on Friday at 8:00 PM at the Van Gilder Funeral Home.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Altar Rosary Society or to St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Hugh P. Salisbury, 85, of 620 South Plum Street, Plymouth, passed away Friday July 19, 2002 at 12:30 PM at his residence in Plymouth, Indiana.

He was born on November 18, 1916 in Economy, Indiana to John and Eva Benbow Salisbury. Hugh served his country in the United States Army during World War Two.

Hugh and Margaret Jett were married August 17, 1941 in Yuma Arizona. Margaret passed away on November 24, 1986. Hugh graduated from Ball State University and was a teacher and coach. Hugh moved to Plymouth in 1964 from Stillwell, Indiana. He coached and taught at West High School, Oregon-Davis, and Kewanna High School. He retired in 1978 from teaching and coaching basketball and baseball.

He is survived by His Daughters, Janet and Mike Beam of Plymouth, Indiana, Judy and Rod Johnson of Beaverton, Oregon, and Joyce and Rodney LeRoy of Newport, Tennessee, Sons, James and Jeannie Salisbury of Bourbon, Indiana, John and Mary Salisbury of Kokomo, Indiana. Also surviving, Hugh's nephew, Robert and Shirley Tobin of Lebanon, Indiana. 13 Grandchildren, 15 Great-grandchildren survive as well. Hugh was preceded in death by his wife, parents and one sister and one brother.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street in Plymouth, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at the Van Gilder Funeral home with Pastor Douglas Jividen officiating.

Burial will be at New Oak Hill cemetery in Plymouth, Indiana, where a military graveside service will be performed.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Marshall County Hospice or the Plymouth Baptist Church.

Lillian M. Hullinger, 83, of 309 Kingston Dr., Plymouth, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2002 at 10:30 PM at the St. Joseph RMC, Plymouth Campus, Plymouth.

She was born on September 26, 1919 in Kentucky to Albert and Pearl (Cummis) Eads. She has lived in Plymouth since 1934 moving here from Indianapolis, Indiana.

She attended, with her brother when she could, the First Baptist Church in Plymouth, Indiana.

She is survived by Daughter, Sharon and Thomas Wood of Culver, IN., Brother, Don and Delores Eads of Plymouth, In. She has 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Lillian is preceded in death by one daughter Cindy, one sister Mary, and four brothers Allan, Bernie, Jim, and Gene.

There will not be any services or visitation, cremation is taking place.

Van Gilder Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Victor F. Washnock, 84, of 3689 East Shore Drive, Bremen, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2002 at 4:05 PM at the Bremen Community Hospital in Bremen, Indiana.

He was born on July 3, 1918 in Marshall County to Frank and Barbara (Klimek) Washnock. He was a farmer all his life and worked for a couple of years at the Lone Star Boat Company of Bremen. Victor helped to build the Lake of the Woods Fire Department and was a Volunteer for 20 years.

Victor married Mary H. Felke on October 18, 1941. She passed away on March 2, 1959. He then married Yvonne DeWulf on June 22, 1963 and she passed away August 17, 1969. Victor and Mildred(Peggy) Kaddy were married on the 19th day of December, 1970. She survives.

He was a member of St. Michael's Church for more than 60 years.

He is survived by Spouse, Peggy Washnock of Bremen, Indiana, Daughters, Mary and Robert Stief of Mishawaka, Indiana, JoAnn and Robert Minier of Elkhart, Indiana, Sueann and Don Sommer of Mishawaka, Indiana; Son Frank and Barbara Washnock of Wyatt, Indiana; Step-son James Thomas of Wilcox, Arizona; Step-daughters Sharon Thomas Hendrickson of Phoenix, Arizona, Shirley Marshman, Darlene Marshman and Maureen Marshman. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 5 Step-grandchildren, 9 Great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Tuesday, Sept 17, 2002 at 10:30 AM at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Plymouth, Indiana with Fr. William Kummer officiating. Burial will be at the New Oak Hill cemetery in Plymouth, Indiana.

Friends may call Monday, September 16, 2002 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth Indiana. Rosary will be recited on Monday at 8:00 PM at the Van Gilder Funeral Home.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Donor's Choice.
