Rosanna Markuson, 73, 31891 Chicago Trail Apt 28, New Carlisle, passed away Wednesday January 2, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. at Hospice House of South Bend, Indiana.
She was born on February 18, 1928 in Marion, Indiana to Virgil and Thelma(Marcotte) Russ. On January 12, 1956, Rosanna and Joseph Markuson were married
in South Bend, Indiana. Joseph preceded her in death on November1, 1990.
She was a member of the Wythougan Doll Guild as well as the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by daughters, Lori(Douglas) Wood of Lakeville, IN, Vickie Markuson of Plymouth, IN, and Melinda (Werner) Sternitzke of New Carlisle, IN and a son, Martin ( Ellen)Markuson of South Bend, In. Rosanna's mother, Thelma Marcotte of Dowagiac, Michigan also survives along with her sister, Virginia Rosenbaum of Dowagiac, MI. brother, Phillip Russ of Chicopee, Mass. and her brother, Max Russ of Benton Harbor, MI. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2002 at 2:000 PM at Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street in Plymouth, IN with Rev. Steve Resner officiating. Burial will be at the New Oak Hill cemetery .
Friends may call Saturday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth.

John Daniel Sobinski, 69, 3851 North River Drive, West Lafayette, formerly of Knox, passed away Friday January 4, 2002 at 5:28 PM at Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette.
He was born on January 20, 1932 in Chicago, IL to Samuel and Eva Klymus Sobinski. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. John has lived in the area since 1972.
John and Helen Singleton were married
in November of 1972. Helen preceded John in death on July 8, 1989.
He was a member of Knox VFW post 748 and American Legion post 331 .
He is survived by his sister, Irene Thornburg of Plymouth, Indiana, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2002 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street in Plymouth. A rosary will be said at the funeral home Wednesday at 6:00 PM. Services will be held Thursday January 10, 2002 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Plymouth, Indiana with Fr. Anthony Gillespie officiating. Burial will be at New Oak Hill cemetery in Plymouth, In.

He was a member of Plymouth Moose Lodge # 741, American Legion #27 sons of American Legion, National Rifle Asso., Issac Walton. John worked for Hoosier Tire in the maintenance department for the past three years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and Nascar racing.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Christina in 1996, his father and one brother Dan Ault.

Mary Lucille Strong, 92, of 222 Parkview St., Plymouth, passed away Tuesday January 15, 2002 at 3:30 AM at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home in Plymouth.
She was born on August 25, 1909 in Tippecanoe, IN to William and Blanche Waddle Harmon.She worked for the Montgomery Wards for 30 years and retired in 1974.

Joseph and Charlotte Moore were married
July 27, 1944 and she died on March 28, 1993 . He then married
Alice Gillum on December 17, 2001. He has been in Plymouth for the past six months.
He was a member of the Wesleyan Church of Brooksville Florida. Joseph has been a Wesleyan minister for 40 years and also a teacher.
He is survived by His Wife, Alice Kephart of Brooksville, FL, Daughters, Ruth and David Southhard of Denton, TX, Judith and Tim Kenoyer of Coloumbus, OH, and son, Rev. Leslie and Kathy Kephart of Plymouth IN., 3 Step -sons, 9 Grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren 7 Great-grandchildren, 5 Step-great grandchildren . Also surviving are his sister, Mary Bodine of Bradenton, Florida and his brother, Pete Kephart of Scottsdale, Arizonia.

Thomas S. Schaefer, 61, 213 Hogarth St., Plymouth, passed away Monday October 29, 2001 at 12:26 PM at St. Joseph RMC Plymouth Campus in Plymouth.
He was born on September 15, 1940 in South Bend, Indiana to Lewis and Evelyn Burdue Schaefer. He served in the United States Army. He was working at Bomarko as a rewinder and was active with the Plymouth Youth Softball when his kids were young.

Irene E. Grossman, 92, of 1950 Ridgedale Rd., South Bend, passed away Friday, July 5, 2002, at 4:15 PM at Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center in South Bend.
She was born on March 20, 1910, in Marshall County, Indiana to Erivn and Daisey Stiles Miller.
Irene and Forrest Grossman were married
June, 1928 in Niles, Michigan, and he died on February 8, 1994.
She is survived by her son, John and Mary Grossman of Mishawaka, IN, 1 Grandchild, and 2 Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers Don and Earl Miller.
There were no services held.
Burial has taken place at the New Oak Hill cemetery in Plymouth, Indiana.

Richard J. "Dick" Grolich, 77, of 1304 Fairbanks Street, Plymouth, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2002 at 6:37 p.m. at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana.
He was born on July 14, 1925 in Gary, Indiana to Rudolph and Irene Lambert Grolich. Dick's family moved from Gary to Plymouth in 1935 . He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
Richard and Mildred Bowles were married
June 22, 1945 in South Bend, Indiana and moved to Argos, Indiana where he owned and operated Grolich's Grocery Store. He owned the grocery store until his retirement.
He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Donaldson, Indiana, Order of the Moose #741 in Plymouth, a 50 year member of the American Legion Post #68 in Argos, a lifetime member of Plymouth VFW Post #1162, a 50 year member of the Indiana Volunteer Fire Association, and a 33 year member of the Argos Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred of Plymouth, Indiana; sons, John and Deanna (Orsund) Grolich of Plymouth, Indiana, Tim and Lula Grolich of Elkhart, Indiana; daughters, Jean and Chuck Taylor of Plymouth, Indiana, Jodie Smith of Plymouth, Indiana; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother John.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 5, 2002 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, and one hour before the service at the church. Services will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Donaldson, Indiana. Burial will be at New Oak Hill cemetery in Plymouth, Indiana. There will be a Military graveside service which will be presented by the American Legion Post #68 of Argos, Indiana.
