Dorothy Marie Shetterly
Dorothy Marie (Davis) Shetterly, 88, Anderson, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2006, at Saint John's Health System in Anderson after suffering a stroke.
She was born on September 13, 1917, in Indianapolis to Ethan Allan Davis and Clara Nicholas Calloway. As a child, she lived in Indianapolis and St. Petersburg, Florida where she graduated from high school. As a young girl, she studied ballet and performed at Garfield Park in Indianapolis.
On December 5, 1936, she began a 62-year marrige to William Harold "Sam" Shetterly and moved to Lapel where she and her husband raised their three children. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel and the former Lapel Order of Eastern Star. She worked briefly at Delco-Remy. Following the death of her husband in 1999, she and her son, Stephen, moved to Crown Point Condominiums in Anderson.
Dorothy, always a kind and gentle soul, devoted her life to her husband and family. Her beautiful smile and friendliness were easy to return.
She enjoyed going to the farm outside of Lapel with Sam to gather vegetables from their garden to give to friends and family. She would exhibit her caring nature as she provided a loving home for their dogs and cats.
She is survived by three children, Suzanne (husband, Royce) Hagan of Pendleton, Stephen A. Shetterly of Anderson, and, Donald Lynn Shetterly (Marilyn Seybert) of Anderson; three granddaughters, Dawn (husband, Jeff) Evans of Luddington, MI, Anne Hagan (husband, Kevin Kilcoyne) of Philadelphia, PA, and Michelle (husband, Alan) Short of Huntington; six great-grandchildren, Ryan, Katie, and Jordan Evans, Gabrielle Kramer, and Alexandra and Rebecca Short; one sister-in-law, Helen Shetterly of Pendleton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers-in-law, Raymond "Ferp" Shetterly and Norman Shetterly.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Clifford Asklock officiating. Entombment will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Clifford A. Smith
Clifford A. Smith, 74, Anderson, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2006, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis following an extended illness.
He was born on June 23, 1932, in Anderson, Indiana to Wyatt and Mabel (Kuhns) Smith.
He was a Anderson High School graduate and he served in the Korean War in the U. S. Navy.
He retired in 1997 from Delco Remy division of General Motors after 47 years of employment.
He is survived by a daughter, Rhesa (husband, John) Mickler of Carmel; two sons, John (wife, Cindy) Smith of Anderson, and Jeffrey (wife, Char) Smith of Olympia, WA; a brother, John (wife, Frances) Smith of LaPuenta, CA; and five grandchildren, Lindsay Smith, Brittney Smith, Tony Brown, Mackie Smith, and Taylor Smith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Miyuki "Miki"; his parents; and a brother, Wyatt Smith, Jr.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Neal Brown officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.
Friends may call from 9:00 AM until the time of the service Wednesday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

William R. Snyder
William Robert "Bob" Snyder, 84, Lapel, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2006, at his residence following a one year illness.
He was born on November 23, 1921, in Lapel, Indiana to William and Leta (Miller) Snyder.
Bob was a 1939 Lapel High School graduate and he served in the South Pacific in the United States Marine Corps during WWII where he was awarded the bronze star. He retired as a product engineer from Guide Division of General Motors in 1979 after 34 years of employment.
He was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church, the Indiana State Historical Society, the Brown County Historical Society and the Lapel Jubilee Chorus.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy (Fleming) Snyder; two daughters, Susan K. (husband, Thomas) Tudor of Lapel, and Jackie (husband, David) Stephenson of Lapel; his foreign exchange daughter, Isabel Zahn Muller of Weissbaden, Germany; one sister, Norma Upton of Lapel; two brothers, Myron (wife, Helen) Snyder of Lapel, and Paul (wife, Linda) Snyder of Noblesville; six grandchildren, Jennifer (husband, Scot) Hawkins, Eliza (husband, Lance) Tudor-Sykes, Adam (wife, Dawn) Tudor, Christopher Tudor, Claudia Schmal, and Oliver Schmal, Anna Hawkins, and Hadley Hawkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Margaret Blake, Becky Cupp, and Kathleen Bell; two brothers, Charles Snyder, and Donald Eugene Snyder; and three grandchildren, Joshua Tudor, Joseph Tudor, and Emily Stephenson.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.

Albert R. Terhune
Albert R. Terhune, 94, Lapel, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following a brief illness.
He was born on November 29, 1911, in Jennings County, Indiana to James and Martha (Hand) Terhune.
Albert was a farmer in Rush County for 62 years, when he retired in 1994, he moved to Lapel.
He was a member of the Fletcher United Methodist Church in Carthage for over 80 years and he had been church treasurer and a Sunday school teacher. He also served on the Carthage Public Library board, was a member of the Carthage Lions Club and had chaired the Carthage Fall Festival Committee.
He is survived by four children, James L. (wife, Fran) Terhune of Snellville, GA, Jeannine S. Terhune of Lapel, John A. (wife, Zoe) Terhune of Noblesville, and Joseph R. (wife, Nancy) Terhune of Greenfield; six grandchildren, Elisabeth Jane "Betsy" Terhune Kelberlau of New Port Richey, FL, Susan Frances Terhune of Snellville, GA, Charles Wesley Terhune of Lilburn, GA, Christopher James Terhune of Orange, VA, Kathleen Ann Terhune and Melissa Jo Terhune both of Greenfield; four great-grandchildren, Natalie Alexandra Terhune, Gillian Grace Terhune, Isabella Mary Frances Terhune, and Gabriel Christopher Samuel Terhune; and one niece, Carolyn Ann McCrum of Columbia City.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Frances (Coffman) Terhune in 2000; a grandson, Scott David Terhune; two brothers, Malcom and Leslie; and three sisters, Erma, Helen, and Mary.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at Fletcher United Methodist Church in Carthage with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Burial will be at the Glen Cove cemetery in Knightstown.

Helen E. Whitmill
Helen E. Whitmill, 66, Lapel, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2006, at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born on October 21, 1939, in Elwood, Indiana to Carl and Mabel (Hahn) Mead.
Helen was employed in environmental services at Riverview Hospital for 27 years.
She is survived by six children, Kay Sigler of Anderson, Ivonda (husband, Ron) Connor of Anderson, Farrell Cornwell of Anderson, Alice (husband, Gary) Barnes of Anderson, Monica Cornwell of Anderson, and Veronica (husband, Richard) Defoel of Bloomington; her mother, Mabel Mead of Elwood; two brothers, Jack Mead of Elwood, and Richard Mead of Alexandria; one sister, Stella Wood of Bunker Hill, IL; sixteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Whitmill; and a grandson, Shawn Cornwell.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Joel Sandefur officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.

Richard R. Tooley
Richard R. Tooley, 82, Anderson, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at Saint John's Health System in Anderson following an extended illness.
He was born on March 16, 1924, in Anderson, Indiana to Thomas and Jeanette (Fisher) Tooley.
Richard was retired from farming and also from the Madison County Highway Department. He also drove a school bus in Jackson Township at one time.
He was a member of the Perkinsville Community Church and he had been the head cashier for the Perkinsville Fish Fry for over 50 years. He was also a member of the Lapel Masonic Lodge No. 625, and the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Belle (Hiday) Tooley; one daughter, Brenda (husband, Lanny) Fenters of Orestes; two grandsons, Barry (wife, Crystal) Fenters of Frankton, and Cory Fenters of Orestes;
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth Conrad.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Mark Aleshire officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 7:30 pm Friday.

Alice Lacefield, 64, of 12667 Nataka Trail, Plymouth, passed away Friday November 30, 2001 at 6:40 AM at St. Joseph RMC South Bend Campus in South Bend.
She was born on February 2, 1937 in Beech Creek, KY to Clarence and Callie Hunt.
Alice and Bobby Lacefield were married
April 23, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois and lived in the Chicago suburbs for 35 years before coming to Plymouth in 1986. Alice and Bobby worked side by side for many years, during which time they owned and operated A&B; grocery in Plymouth before retiring 18 months ago.
She is survived by Her Spouse, Bobby Lacefield of Plymouth, In, daughter, Cathy Stachursky of Plymouth, In, daughter, Cheryl and Patrick Hinchey of Wheaton, IL, son, John and Patti Lacefield of Chicago, IL, son, Kevin and Lacy Lacefield of Plymouth, In, brother, Bob Hunt of, KY, sister-in-law, Margie and Damon Vance of, IL, brother, Buddy and Betty Hunt of, KY. There are also 13 grandchildren surviving.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bobby in 1992. Also preceding her in death were one sister and one brother.
Visitation will be held Monday December 3, 2001 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Van Gilder Funeral Home 300 West Madison Street in Plymouth. Services will be held Tuesday December 4, 2001 at 9:00 AM at Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, In 46563 with Rev. Douglas Jividen officiating. Howard R. Langfeldt, 89, 10520 Lincoln Highway, Plymouth, passed away Friday November 2, 2001 at 7:20 AM at St. Joseph RMC Plymouth Campus in Plymouth.
He was born on July 13, 1912 in Plymouth, Indiana to Harry and Bertha Hillsman Langfeldt.
Howard and Alberta Huff were married
May 7, 1939 in Plymouth, Indiana, and she passed away on December 22, 2000. Howard was a fifth generation meat cutter working at Merriman's Grocery and Price's Abattoir of Plymouth. He Also worked part time at Lincoln's Grocery in Bourbon, Indiana and at Neidlinger Farm Market of Plymouth IN.
He was a member of St. Micheal's Catholic Church of Plymouth, IN.
He is survived by his son, Edward and Linda Langfeldt of Plymouth, IN, son, Samuel and Pat Langfeldt of Plymouth, IN, son, Paul and Sandy Langfeldt of Plymouth, IN, and brother, Fred Langfeldt of South Bend, Indiana. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday November 5, 2001 at 4:00 PM at Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth. Services will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2001 at 10:30 AM at St Micheal's Catholic Church of Plymouth, with Father Anthony Gillespie officiating. Burial will be at New Oak Hill cemetery in Plymouth, In. Rosary will be said at 4:00 pm Monday at the Funeral Home.

Roy G. Fenimore, 85, P.O. Box 53, Tyner, passed away Wednesday November 28, 2001 at 10:45 A.M. at Millers Merry Manor, Walkerton, Indiana.
He was born on September 10, 1916 in LaPorte, Indiana to Ross and Cora(Reid) Fenimore . In 1927 Roy moved to the Tyner area and lived there until ill health required him to admitted to Millers Merry Manor.
Roy's parents as well as his sister, Elsie Roy, preceded him in death. Also preceding Roy in death was his very special friend Janet Stombaugh.
Roy was a retired farmer and worked as a dispatcher for the Marshall County Highway for many years.
He was a member of Tyner IOOF#821. Roy was awarded his 50 year membership pin a few years ago. Roy was also a member of the Mt. Horeb of Rochester, The Canon Lodge of South Bend, Indiana and the Tyner United Methodist Church.
He is survived by several cousins and many friends.
Services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Sunday December 2, 2001 at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, Indiana with Pastor David Inskeep, of the Tyner United Methodist Church, officiating. A graveside service and burial will be at the Eastlawn cemetery in North Liberty, Indiana on Monday, December 3, 2001 at 10:30AM.
Friends may call from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. on Sunday, December 2, 2001 at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth. An IOOF service will be held on Sunday at 5:30 P.M.

Evelyn C. Cudney, 82, of 802 W. Jackson Street, Plymouth, passed away Monday November 19, 2001 at 8:55 AM at Hospice House in South Bend.
She was born on April 7, 1919 in Walkerton, Indiana to James and Nellie Nelson Stickley.
Evelyn and Clyde Cudney were married
April 27, 1940 in LaPaz IN, and he passed away on the 27 day of April, 1986. Evelyn had worked as a salad maker at the Hayloft Restaurant.
She was a very active member of The Christ Church of Plymouth, Indiana.
She is survived by her Daughter, Lois and Larry Davis of Plymouth, In, daughter, Shurla and Dick Knepper of Plymouth, In, son, Terry Cudney of Plymouth, IN. Three sisters also survive. They are: Marie Hardesty of Hamlet Indiana, Joan Mapes of Bristol Indiana, and Audrey Barnhart of Ohio. Also surviving are two brothers: Clyde Stickley
of Walkerton Indiana and James Seiders of North Liberty Indiana. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
Visitation will be held Wednesday November 21, 2001 at 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth. Services will be held Friday November 23, 2001 at 11:00 AM at Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, IN with Rev. Larry Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at New Oak Hill cemetery in Plymouth, IN.
