Anthony (Eddie) Weeks
Anthony Edward (Eddie) Weeks, 36, Anderson, passed away Wednesday July 31, 2002.
He was born on November 30, 1965 in Anderson to Anthony H. and Lynn (Ford) Weeks.
He was a 1984 Lapel High School Graduate and was a firefighter and EMT with the Anderson Fire Department. He also was employed at Weeks Auto Service in Anderson.
He was a member of both the HAZMAT Team and Dive Team of the Anderson Fire Department and was a former member of the Lapel Volunteer Fire Department and former Edgewood Police Reserve Officer.
He is survived by his wife, Pam (Harrington) Weeks; his parents, Anthony H. and Lynn (Ford) Weeks of Anderson; two brothers, Jim (wife, Stacy) Weeks of Anderson and Tim (Katrina DeGraff) Weeks of Anderson; nieces and nephews, Cameron Weeks, Shelby Weeks, Anthony Elijah Weeks, McKalyn Weeks, an aunt, Diana Harris of Basingstoke, UK; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Del and Carolyn Harrington of Anderson; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Angel (husband, Blake) Allen of Anderson, and Buddy Harrington of Galena, MO; and their children Alexis Allen, Cody Harrington, and Christy Harrington.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at Calvary Temple in Anderson with Anderson Fire Department Chaplain Tim Bailey officiating. Burial will be at the Memorial Park cemetery, Anderson.
Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the Calvary Temple.

Wendi R. Wilson
Wendi R. Wilson, 38, Lapel, passed away Thursday September 5, 2002, at Riverview Hospital Noblesville after a sudden illness.She was born on January 1, 1964 in Bloomington to Jerry and Sharon (Nikirk) Wilson. She was employed as the accounts payable manager at Trotter Construction and also was an adjunct professor at Ivy Tech in Indianapolis. She was a member of the Unity Truth Center in Indianapolis and was active with the Lapel Band Boosters. She is survived by two children, Anna-Maghen Wilson of Lapel, and Jon Wallace Wilson-Reid of Zionsville; her mother and step-father, Sharon and Charles Dopirak, III of Lapel; two sisters, Tracie Wilson of Sicklerville, NJ and Karri Wilson-Shojaei of Dallas, TX; her maternal grandfather, Wallace Corbin of Bloomington; one step-sister, Nicole Dopirak of Philadelphia, PA; and her father, Jerry Wilson of Millville, NJ.Friends may call 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday at the Scott E. Herbert M. Anderson
Herbert M. Anderson, 87, Sarasota, passed away Tuesday January 07, 2003, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, Florida. He was born on February 10, 1915, in Lapel to Byron and Gladys (Nielson) Anderson. He retired in 1973 as a supervisor from General Motors in Anderson. He was a member of the Southside Christian Church in Sarasota, Florida where he served as a deacon and as a member of the board of directors. He is survived by his wife, Geneva (Mushrush) Anderson; five children, Sonie (husband, Paul) Green of Anderson, Larry (wife, Jill) Anderson of Pendleton, James (wife, Connie) Campbell of Anderson, Gary (wife, Sharon) Campbell of Sarasota, FL, and Robert (wife, Frances) Anderson of Punta Gorda, FL; two sisters, Dorothy Tharp of Yakima, WA, and Barbara (husband, Danny) Richardson of Destin, FL; one brother, Rev. Neil (wife, Zeke) Anderson of Jacksonville, FL; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Neil Anderson officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery, Lapel. LeRoy Barbee
LeRoy Barbee, 68, Anderson, passed away Wednesday June 11, 2003, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born on June 10, 1935, in Lapel, Indiana to William and Nancy (Galliger) Barbee.
He retired in 1990 from Brockway Glass in Lapel after almost 40 years of employment.
He enjoyed his grandchildren and was an avid sportsman who would fish and hunt. He also enjoyed a good joke and loved to visit and have company in his home.
He is survived by his wife, Delorice (Durham) Barbee; four children, William "Bill" Barbee of Perkinsville, Rhonda (husband, Greg) Perkins of Anderson, Leroy Wayne (wife, Beth) Barbee of Perkinsville, and David Ray Barbee of Shreveport, LA; six brothers and sisters, Sally (husband, Bill) Linkenhoker of Savannah, GA, James (wife, Carol) Barbee of Noblesville, Mary (husband, Lee) Harger of Noblesville, Barbara (husband, Don) Harrison of Anderson, Frank (wife, Juanita) Barbee of Burnswick, GA, and Judy (husband, Lynn) Springer of Savannah, GA; ten grandchildren; one great granddaughter; close friends, Charlie Watkins and Steve Perkins; and a large extended family.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Darrell Deck officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.

Georgia B. Barcus
Georgia B. Barcus, 77, Lapel, passed away Tuesday April 22, 2003, at Alexandria Care Center following a extended illness.
She was born on August 29, 1925, in Indianapolis to Albert and Cleo (Leonard) Barcus.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel. She is survived by one brother, Mark (wife, Ida) Barcus of Pendleton, IN; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters Eleanor M. Barcus and LaVera McClintick Pike; and three brothers, Edward L. Barcus, William F. Barcus, and John D. Barcus.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Arcadia with Pastor Dawn Cuthbert officiating.
There will be no calling hours.

Edna M. Brown
Edna M. Brown, 81, Lapel, passed away Monday June 9, 2003, at Community Hospital of Anderson after a sudden illness.
She was born on November 12, 1921, in Lapel, Indiana to Roy and Mabel (Smith) Fry.
She was a member of the former Lapel Christian Missionary Alliance Church. She loved to crochet and made many different things for her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Ivan Brown whom she married
April 9, 1942 in Anniston, Ala.; one daughter, Debbie (husband, Doug) Milliner of Lapel; a son-in-law, Si DeVaney of Westfield; two grandchildren, Cindy (husband, Jon) Robison of Cicero, and Si (wife, Kim) DeVaney of Sheridan; two great-grandchildren, Faith DeVaney and Josie DeVaney; two step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her granddog, Sunny.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sarah DeVaney in 2002; and a brother, Ralph Fry in 1998.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.

Joab I. Castor
Joab I. "Joe" Castor, 92, Lapel, passed away Sunday July 6, 2003, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born on September 19, 1910, in Lapel, Indiana to Ernest and Rose (McDole) Castor.
He was a Lapel High School graduate and retired from the former Cascadden's Grocery in Lapel after 39 years of employment. He also had worked as a custodian at the Lapel Public Library.
He was a 79 year member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and a 58 year member of the Lapel Masonic Lodge No. 625.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy (husband, Gene) Burris of Anderson; two grandchildren, Mike Burris of Glendale, CA, and Lisa France of Anderson; three great grandchildren, Brandon France, Felicia France, and John France; and his niece's husband, Bill French of Lapel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances L. (Gatewood) Castor in 1996; his parents; one sister, Margaret Barker; and two nieces, Velma Barker and Iris French.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev.s Evan Lash and Neal Brown officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.
Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 Tuesday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.
Masonic Memorial rites will be conducted at 8:00 PM Tuesday by the Lapel Masonic Lodge at the funeral home.

Mac D. Castor
Mac D. Castor, 90, West Lafayette, passed away Sunday January 19, 2003, at Heritage Health Care Center in West Lafayette following an extended illness. He was born on November 12, 1912, in Hamilton County, Indiana to Howard and Ida (McDonald) Castor. He was a WWII Navy veteran and served on board the U. S. S. Barnwell. He was a retired iron worker and a member of Noblesville Masonic Lodge. He is survived by two children, Judy (husband, James) Castor Johnson of Grand Rapids, MI, and Sidney (wife, Polly) Castor of West Lafayette; eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Prairie Memorial cemetery in Noblesville and will include military graveside rites conducted by the Lapel American Legion Post 212. Mamie Cook
Mamie Cook, 94, Lapel, passed away Sunday February 16, 2003, at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville following a brief illness. She was born on January 20, 1909, in Lapel, Indiana to Walter and Lillie (Ketter) Branderburg. She retired in 1969 from Delco Remy in Anderson after 41 years of employment. She was a member of Ford Street United Methodist Church, a member and past Matron of the former Lapel Order of Eastern Star Chapter 457, a member of the Past Matrons Club, and a member of UAW Local 662. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Cook in 1955, her parents, and seven brothers and sisters. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery, Lapel. Rita Elaine Coverdale
Rita Elaine Coverdale, 44, Lapel, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2003, at her residence following a sudden illness.
She was born on August 16, 1959, in Pennington Gap, Virginia to Pearl and Louise (Fleenor) Harber.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and the Northern Indiana Emmaus Community.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas Coverdale; three children, Brandon Coverdale, Corrine Coverdale, and Zach Coverdale all at home; and her mother, Louise Harber of Strawtown.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery, Lapel.

Donald E. Crooks
Donald E. Crooks, 69, Pendleton, formerly of Lapel, passed away Sunday July 13, 2003, at Rawlins House in Pendleton following an extended illness.
He was born on October 17, 1933, in Lapel, Indiana to William and Edith Marie (Alford) Crooks.
He was a Lapel High School graduate and he served in the U. S. Navy.
He attended Beech Grove Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by a daughter, Mila (husband, Scott) Stump of Pendleton; two grandchildren, Jonathan Stump and Anna Marie Stump; a brother, William (wife, Susie) Crooks of Camby; and special friends, Dick and Ruth Stump of Anderson.
Other survivors include two daughters, Melanie (husband, Bryan) Cookman of Anderson; and Marsha (husband, Gary) Nelson of Anderson; and three grandchildren, Jama Cookman, Shelby Meyer, Erin Meyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joann Crooks.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday at Brookside cemetery in Lapel with Rev. Keith Bennett officiating.
There will be no calling hours.

Jack W. Davidson
Jack W. Davidson, 64, Anderson, passed away Thursday June 12, 2003, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following an extended illness.
He was born on May 29, 1939, in Anderson, Indiana to Amos and Edna (Fudge) Davidson.
He was a 1957 Lapel High School graduate. He retired from farming in 1989 and he retired from the Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis in 1996 after 36 years of employment.
He was a member of the U. A. W. Local 1111, a very active member of the John Deere 2 Cylinder Club of America and an avid John Deere collector.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Garretson) Davidson; two children, John (wife, Kelly) Davidson of Anderson, and Kim (husband, Pat) Hutchison of Anderson; a sister, Mariann Davidson of Anderson; and five grandchildren, Megan Davidson, Ashley Davidson, Brandon Hutchison, Bryan Hutchison, and Breanna Hutchison.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 8:00 PM Monday in Trinity United Methodist Church, Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash officiating.
Friends may call from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at the church.

Wilford Gene Fuqua
Gene Fuqua, 76, Lapel, passed away Wednesday May 21, 2003, at Community Hospital in Anderson after a sudden illness.
He was born on March 8, 1927, in New Castle, IN to Clifford and Chloe Fuqua.
He was a WWII Navy veteran and he retired in 1989 from Brockway Glass after 37 years of employment. He was also employed by Brookside cemetery for 29 years.
He was a member of the Anderson Eagles and the Oak Street Euchre Club. He enjoyed antique tractor shows and collected toy tractors. He also enjoyed playing the organ and began taking lessons at age 72.
He is survived by two children, Carol Fuqua of Marion, and David (wife, Cathy) Fuqua of Noblesville; four grandchildren, Zach Fuqua, Stephanie Rushton, Libby Rushton, and Nathan Rushton; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Paul (wife, Maxine) Fuqua of Alexandria.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Vera Louise "Sally" (Castetter) Fuqua in 1996; his parents; and two brothers; John Fuqua and Rex Fuqua.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. David Rushton officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.
