Jerry Lee Wilhelm
INVERNESS, Fla. — Jerry Lee Wilhelm, 67, formerly of Argos, then a resident for the past nine
years of 1835 E. St. James Loop, Inverness, Fla., died at 1:58 p.m. of heart complications, on
Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, in Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness, Fla.
Jerry was born in Plymouth, the son of Ermel D. and Bertha P. Flagg Wilhelm, on June 4, 1940.
He graduated from Argos High School with the class of 1954.
He worked his apprenticeship and earned an Associate Degree in Science through General
Motors, serving as a millwright for 36 years with Delco Electronics in Kokomo.
On Nov. 4, 1961, in the Argos Congregational Christian Church, Jerry and Kay A. McCollough
were married
.
Jerry enjoyed life and had many interests. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson and was an avid
Formula One Racing fan. He collected guns and knives and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Floral City Masonic Lodge # 133 F & AM
and the Scottish Rite Valley of Ocala.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Kay, and by their three children, a son and two
daughters and seven grandchildren.
Their son is: Christopher B. (Christine) Wilhelm, Argos, and their children, Kristen, Megan and
Kyle: Jerlyn K. and Steve Robinson, Bourbon, and their son, Neil and Shelly A. Olivarez, Argos,
and her children, Andrew, Nicholas and Whitney.
A brother, Stanley A. (Mary) Wilhelm, Argos, and a sister, Barbara A. Neidlinger, Culver, survive
as well, together with several nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be welcomed by the family to celebrate the life of Jerry Wilhelm on Wednesday,
Aug. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N.
Michigan St., Plymouth.
Masonic Rites will be held that evening at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
Funeral services for Jerry will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9, in the funeral home.
Pastor Dan Mundt of the Faith Outreach Center, Rochester, and the Rev. Dean Kring of the
Cokesbury United Methodist Church in Hartwell, Ga., will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery, Argos.
William R. Xaver
PLYMOUTH — William R. "Bill" Xaver, 57, of 11444 Nutmeg Rd., Plymouth, passed away
Friday, Aug. 3, 2007 in Fort Dodge, Iowa following a motorcycle accident.
Bill was born on Nov. 17, 1949 in Plymouth to William Francis and Irene (Pickavet) Xaver.
Bill married
the former Judi Jones on Nov. 22, 1974. He was a member of Saint Michael Catholic
Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, holding several offices for the Knights.
He also helped in the construction of the new hall, when it was being built. Bill enjoyed his family,
grandchildren, watching the Bears and Cubs, and loved to ride his motorcycle. He worked for
Transit-Mix, in LaPorte, starting in March of 1985, as a driver. When he could, he would ride “his
bike” to work.
Bill is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judi; his son, Josh and Kristi Xaver of Plymouth and their
sons, Zephen, Zackery, and Hunter Xaver of Plymouth; his daughter, Jessica and Harold
Samuels Jr. of Bremen and their sons, Harold, III, and Richard Samuels of Bremen; his mother,
Irene Xaver of Plymouth; his sisters Janice Xaver of Washington, D.C., Eloise and Frank
Geiselhofer of Burbank, Illinois, Lynda Xaver of Athens, Alabama, Luann and Michael Falkowski
of Plymouth, and Jeanine and Mark Mersch of Plymouth; his brothers; Gerard and Sharon Xaver
of South Bend, Indiana, and Joseph Xaver of Springfeild, Illinois; and his mother-in-law, Roma
Jones of Plymouth. He was preceded in death by his father; William Francis Xaver; his brother,
Paul Xaver; and his father-in-law Charles Jones.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Aug. 10, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. EDT at Saint Michael
Catholic Church in Plymouth, with the Rev. Father William Kummer officiating. Burial will be in
New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth.
A time of visiting with the family will be on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, from 4 to 8 p.m. EDT at the
VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, 300 West Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563. The Rosary will be
prayed at 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Saint Michael’s Catholic Church or to the Gibault School for Boys
and Girls.
Ray D. Toothman
Mr. Ray D. Toothman, 40, of Lake Los Angeles, Calif., formerly of Fish Lake, died Sunday, Aug.
5, 2007 in Los Angeles County, Calif.
He was born Sept. 21, 1966, in South Bend to Roy and Valarie (Dyer) Toothman.
Mr. Toothman was a 1985 graduate of La Porte High School. He moved to California four years
ago, but lived in Culver area most of his life. Ray worked as a mechanic for many years and
most recently in construction. He was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt. He loved his dog, Bart,
who traveled with him always.
Surviving are one son, JR Byer; one brother John (Diane) Cudney of La Porte; one sister, Sheryl
Cudney of Arizona, and one aunt Aulgie Cudney of Fish Lake.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. central time, Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007 at Fair
cemetery on Oak Road, North Liberty with Rev. Ronald Devenport officiating. A celebration
dinner will be held at the Mill Creek Baptist Church, Mill Creek, immediately following services.
Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, La Porte is in charge of the arrangements.

Donald W. Kornack
BREMEN — Donald W. Kornack, 76, of Bremen, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at 9 a.m. at
Community Hospital of Bremen.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; son, Scott E. Kornack of Frisco, Texas; daughter, Debra
(Harlan) Kauffman of Indianapolis, and two grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Burial
will follow at Bremen cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8 at the funeral
home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Community
Hospital of Bremen.
Anna Lea Helmuth
BREMEN — Anna Lea Helmuth, 5, of Bremen, died at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7 at home.
She is survived by her parents, Raymond and Elva Helmuth of Bremen; brothers: Ray Allen
Helmuth, Gary Lee Helmuth, Mark Lavon Helmuth, James Helmuth and Walter Jay Helmuth, all
at home; sisters: Eleanor (Leon) Kuhns of Nappanee, Alma Marie (James) Borkholder of
Bremen and Marilyn Helmuth, at home; grandparents: Simon and Rosa Miller and Barbara
Helmuth, all of Nappanee; and great-grandfather, Joe Miller of LaGrange.
The body lay in state Wednesday after 2 p.m. at the family residence, 1265 B. Rd., Bremen, and
all day Thursday.
Funeral services will be held at the David Miller residence, 1329 E. B. Rd., Bremen, Friday, Aug.
10 at 9:30 a.m.
Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, is in charge of the arrangements.
Charles M. Marsh
BRISTOL — Charles M. Marsh, 77, of Bristol, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7 at home.
He is survived by his wife, Violet L. Marsh of Bristol; sons: Rodney Marsh of Cassopolis, Mich.
And Timothy Marsh of Elkhart; one granddaughter; two great-granddaughters; sisters: Wilma
(Gary) Shepard of Plymouth and Thelma (Ronald) Mullins of Argos; and a brother, Harold Marsh
of Plymouth.
Visitation is Friday, Aug. 10 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral
Home, Elkhart.
Funeral services are Saturday, Aug. 11 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Zion cemetery, Bristol.
