Margaret E. Knepper
PLYMOUTH — Margaret E. Knepper, 88, formerly of Garden Court West, died of natural causes
in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home at 6:25 a.m. on Sunday, June 17, 2007.
Margaret was born in Argos on Aug. 13, 1918. She was the daughter of Edgar and Grace
Williams Methney.
She attended Argos schools.
On July 20, 1935, Margaret and Howard A. Knepper were married
. Howard died in August of 1977.
A homemaker in the early years of her marriage, she raised seven children. Later she was a
general laborer at Bremen Wire.
An animal enthusiast, she loved dogs and cats. She was adept at crocheting and enjoyed
working with sequins and beads.
She attended the Plymouth Baptist Church.
Margaret is survived by three daughters and two sons. Her daughters are Judy M. Dildine of
Round Rock, Texas, Linda (Ed) Krecik of Knox and Sally O’Dell of Orrville, Ohio.
Her sons are Richard A. (Shurla) Knepper and Ronald E. Knepper, both of Plymouth.
A daughter-in-law, Barbara Knepper of Plymouth, also survives together with a sister, Mary
Spitler of Argos.
Fourteen grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren also survive.
Margaret was preceded in death by a son, James E. Knepper and a daughter, Mary Jane
Knepper, son-in–law, John O’Dell, and daughter-in-law, Susan I. Knepper.
To celebrate her life, a memorial service for Margaret will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June
20, 2007, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. There will
be an hour of calling prior to services.
Burial will be in New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Margaret’s memory may be made to Marshall County Hospice or the Marshall
County Humane Society.
Forest V. “Frosty” Brundige
PLYMOUTH — Forest V. “Frosty” Brundige, 82, of Plymouth, died on Monday, June 18 at the
Catherine Kasper Life Center, Donaldson.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene G. Brundige of Plymouth; daughter, Connie (Cecil) Ottow of
Plymouth; stepdaughter, Debra (Dick) Stout of Red Lodge, Mont.; stepson, Steven (Jane)
Nelson of Plymouth; two grandchildren; and sister, Helen M. Haines of Plymouth.
Visitation is Thursday, June 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday, June 22 after 7 a.m. at the Johnson-Danielson
Funeral Home, Plymouth. Funeral services are Friday, June 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the
funeral home.
Burial will be at New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorials may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Plymouth, or the
Catherine Kasper Life Center.
George R. Nicher
OBER - George Ralph Nitcher, 84, of Ober, died on Monday, June 18 at his daughter's home in
North Judson. He is survived by his wife, Florence Anna Nitcher of Knox; sons: Gary Nitcher of
Walkerton and Jerry Nitcher of Bass Lake; daughters: Sharon Fletcher of North Judson, Robin
Baca of Knox and George Ann Noble; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and sisters:
Betty Ritter of Rochester, Virginia Spencer of Plymouth and Lula Wallace of Argos.
Visitation was Tuesday, June 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Braman and Son Memorial Chapel,
Knox. Funeral services are Wednesday, June 20 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at
the Culver Masonic cemetery. Doris Zeltwanger June 18, 2007 BREMEN - Doris Zeltwanger,

BREMEN - Doris Zeltwanger, 82, of rural Bremen, died Monday, June 18 in her home.
Doris is survived by her children: Susan (Ron) Goerzen and Margo (Glenn) Balsis, both of
Colorado Springs, Colo., Janna (Jeff) Siemon of Pasadena, Calif., Gwen (Lon) Keaton of Fort
Wayne, Beth (Don) Hendricks and Ron (Lana) Zeltwanger, both of Bremen and Janine
Zeltwanger of Indianapolis; grandchildren; brothers: Wes Scharlach of Merrillville and Melvin
(Marge) Scharlach of Winter Haven, Fla.; her in-laws: Don Zeltwanger and Earl (Marge)
Zeltwanger of Bremen, Mary Ann (Gene) Witzig of Morton, Ill., Harold (Marge) Zeltwanger of
Mishawaka and Terry Taylor of Haines City, Fla.
Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 22 at The Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. A
graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 23 at 10 a.m. in the Bremen cemetery. A
celebration of life follows at Community Gospel Church, Bremen at 11 a.m. on Saturday,
following the Graveside Services.
Memorials may be made to Community Gospel Church Women's Ministry or Bremen School
Release Time Bible Class.
Dale F. Baker
Dale F. Baker Dec. 1, 1948 - June 19, 2007 PLYMOUTH - Dale F. Baker, 58, of Plymouth, died
at 7:51 a.m. on June 19, 2007 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Dale was born on Dec. 1, 1948 in Indianapolis to Larry and Marjorie (Shotts) Baker. Dale was
1967 graduate of Elston High School in Michigan City and an electrical engineering graduate of
Purdue University.
He worked at NIPSCO for 37 1/2 years after having served in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam
with the Blue Ghost Squadron. He was a Past White Hat Commander of the Finney-Shilling
VFW Post 6919 in Culver, serving in that role from 1990 - 1992. He was also a member of the
American Legion and the Federation of Eagles.
His two great passions were gardening and kayaking. He was also a master gardener and
enjoyed landscaping.
On May 15, 1998 he married
Donna Pennington in Plymouth. She survives along with his
daughter, Noelle Baker of LaPorte and grandsons Ian and Zoren Baker; stepchildren: Jeremy
(Nichol) Pennington of Culver and step daughter, Misty Craft of Bowling Green, Ky. Other
survivors include brothers: Terry (Kathy) Baker of Springport, Mich., Stu (Martha) Baker of
Marshall, Mich. And Ross (Laura) Baker of Tualatin, Ore. And sisters Jayellen (Mike) Johnston
of Dugger and Lorry (Ron Klinger of Boon, Mich. And three step-grandchildren: Justin and
Shanna Craft and Haley Pennington. He was preceded in death by his father Larry.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, June 22, 2007 at the Bonine-Odom Funeral
Home, Culver from 2 to 8 p.m. EDT. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at
10 a.m. EDT at the funeral home with interment following at the Culver Masonic cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Finney-Shilling VFW Post 6919.
Otto D. Hostetler
WALKERTON — Otho D. Hostetler, 81, of Walkerton, passed away at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 19,
2007 in his home. He was born on May 11, 1926 in Wyatt to Clayton and Virginia (Ritter)
Hostetler. On March 13, 1949 in North Liberty, he married
the former Retha R. Moyer who
preceded him in death on Feb. 28, 1996.
Mr. Hostetler is survived by three sons: Stephen Hostetler of De Bary, Fla., Mark (Terri)
Hostetler of Middleburg, Fla. And Thomas (Angela) Hostetler of Bremen; a brother, Harold
Hostetler of Gainesville, Fla.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hostetler was a lifelong area resident. He served in the United States Army Air Force during
World War II serving in the Pacific Islands. He was a member of the Pine Creek Church of the
Brethren, serving eleven years as chairman of the building committee. Mr. Hostetler loved to
sing in choirs and quartets.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2007 in the Pine Creek Church of the
Brethren, 69531 Pine Rd., North Liberty. Rev. Norman Replogle will officiate. Friends may visit
with the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2007 in the Palmer Funeral Home,
314 S. Michigan St., Lakeville.
Contributions in memory of Otho D. Hostetler may be offered to the Pine Creek Church of the
Brethren.
Phyllis J. Leeper
BREMEN - Phyllis J. Leeper, 79, of Bremen, died at 8:40 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19 at
Community Hospital of Bremen.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald of Bremen; daughter, Mary Leeper of Bremen; daughter-in-law,
Shirley Leeper of Middlebury, three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers-inlaw:
Leon (Eunice) Leeper of Bridgman, Mich., Dennis (Cindy) Leeper of Bremen and Hayward
Stuntz of Plymouth; and sister-in-law, Marlena Dube of Bremen.
Visitation is Thursday, June 21 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the United Pentecostal Church of
Bourbon Services will be held on Friday, June 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at
the Bourbon cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Pentecostal Church
of Bourbon Parking Lot Fund, 201 N. Bourbon St., Bourbon, IN 46504.
