DELPHI - Jeff Wentzel, 49, of Delphi, formerly of Rochester, died at 9:13 p.m. on Saturday, May
26 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette.
He is survived by his wife Janet of Delphi; son, Dustin Wentzel of Logansport; stepdaughter,
Shelia Maloney of Logansport; two step grandchildren; mother, Shirley Wentzel of Rochester;
and brother, David Wentzel of Rochester.
Visitation is Tuesday, May 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Wednesday in the
Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester. Funeral services are Wednesday, May 30 at 3 p.m. in
the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Rochester IOOF cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Jimmy Marshall
MISHAWAKA — Jimmy Marshall, 50, of Mishawaka, formerly of Knox, died on Sunday, May 27
as the result of an auto accident.
He is survived by a daughter, Donna Lightner of Kenton, Ohio; sisters: Irene Swanson, Kathy
Redlark, Charlotte Thompson and Arlene Campbell, all of Knox, Lorene Barnett of Walkerton,
Ethel Marshall of Winchester, Ky., Wanda Marshall of Kokomo and Robin Thompson of
Jackson, Tenn.; brother, Robert Marshall of Pea Ridge, Ark.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is Friday, June 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. CDT at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel, and
Saturday at the church after 10 a.m. Funeral services are Saturday, June 2 at 11 a.m. CDT at
United Pentecostal Church of Knox.
Burial will be at Round Lake cemetery, Knox.
Memorials may be made to United Pentecostal Church.
Michael L. Nies
Michael L. Nies, 45, of Knox, died on Sunday, May 27 at Starke Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by daughter, Martha Nies of Plymouth; son, Corey Nies of Indianapolis; brothers:
Robert “Buster” Nies and Jake Nies, both of Knox; and sisters: Carolyn Miller and Barbara
Bailey, both of Knox.
Visitation is after 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 2 at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox. Funeral
services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cremation will take place.
Margaret "Peggy" Davis
PLYMOUTH — Margaret “Peggy” Davis, 81, a Plymouth resident since 1986, coming from Fort
Meyers, Fla., died of natural causes on Monday, May 28, 2007, at the home of her daughter in
Rochester.
She previously had lived in Argos and North Liberty.
Peggy was born in North Liberty, the daughter of Walter A. and Erma McKean Shinn, on April
24, 1926. She graduated from North Liberty High School with the class of 1944 and attended
Manchester College.
On March 8, 1946, Peggy and Carl D. Davis were married
in West Lafayette. Carl died in 1993.
Peggy worked for five years from 1970 to 1975 at the Coast to Coast Store in Argos. Peggy
spent most of her time helping out on the farm and raising the children.
She enjoyed working and caring for her beautiful flower gardens. Peggy was a good bowler and
reveled for good competition.
Peggy is survived by three daughters and two sons. They are Darlene (Michael) Cowger of
Rochester, Cheri Riese of Elkhart and Barb Davis of North Liberty. Her sons are Cary (Shirley)
Davis of Wellington, Ky. And Larry (Lois) Davis of Plymouth.
She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
One brother, Mel Shinn, LaPorte, also survives.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Darwin Carl Davis; two grandsons, Danny
Lee Davis and Michael Ernest Cowger, Jr.; and two brothers: Donald and Everett Shinn.
Friends are invited to share memories of Peggy’s life with her family on Friday, June 1, 2007
from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Peggy with the Rev. Robert Vale, pastor of the Argos United Methodist
Church, officiating will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2007, at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Peggy’s memory may be given to Hope Hospice of Fulton County.

PLYMOUTH — Eva May Dunn, 78, of Plymouth, died on Monday, May 28 at home.
She is survived by daughter, Susan E. and Dennis (Fraschetti) Johnson of LaPaz; sons: Robert
L. Dunn of Plymouth and John and Dorothy Dunn of Plymouth; sisters: Frances P. Swihart of
Plymouth, Mary L. Blakeley of Michigan, Ethel M. and Bill Whaley of LaPaz, Bonnie L. Sliter of
Arkansas and Connie S. and Ralph Sterling of Arkansas; and brothers: Paul J. and Edna Swihart
of Plymouth, Irve H. and Audrey Swihart of Avon Park, Fla. And Roy G. and Diane Swihart of
Plymouth.
Visitation is Saturday, June 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home,
Plymouth. Funeral services are Saturday, June 2 at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Fairmont cemetery, Plymouth.

LaVern G. Hochstetler
NAPPANEE - LaVern G. Hochstetler, 50, of Nappanee, died at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, May 28 at home.
He is survived by his wife, Ida; sons: Jeff (Sarell) Hochstetler of Wakarusa and Eric Hochstetler
of Nappanee; one grandson; mother, Edna Hochstetler of Nappanee; brothers; Mervin
Hochstetler of Mesa, Ariz., Dale (Sue) Hochstetler of Bremen and Carl (Carol) Hochstetler of
Constantine, Mich.; and sisters: Barbara (Fritz) Mullet of Sarasota, Fla., Loretta (Bob) Miller of
Etna Green, Sue (Kevin) Yoder of Nappanee and Mary Lou (Merl) Mullet of Nappanee.
Visitation is Tuesday, May 29 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, May 30 from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8
p.m. at the Nappanee Missionary Church Chapel. Funeral services are Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
at the church.
Burial will be at Hepton Union cemetery, Nappanee.

ATHENS, TEXAS — Doris Jean Hood, 82, of Athens, Texas, formerly of Plymouth, died on
Monday, May 28 at West Place Nursing Center.
She is survived by daughters: Beverly (Jerry) Pinder of Plymouth, Gail (Robert) Pinder of
Trinidad, Texas and Marie (Fred) Bannister of Trinidad, Texas; sons: Terry Hood of Red Oak,
Texas and Wayne Hood of Aubrey, Texas; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is Thursday, May 31 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel,
Malakoff, Texas. Funeral services are Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

PLYMOUTH — Patricia A. Keller, 74, of Plymouth, died on Monday, May 28 at home.
She is survived by her husband, Robert W. “Bob” Keller of Plymouth; daughters: Toni (Terry)
Bergel of Oaklawn, Ill. And Grace (Tim) Beal of Wheatfield; sons: Phil (Dawn) Caruso of
Demotte, Rick (Dee) Caruso of Lemott, Ill. And Joe Caruso of Gary; five grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; and sisters; Carol Bittles of Plano, Ill. And Vivian Hinson of Lockport, Ill.
Visitation is Wednesday, May 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, May 31 after 7 a.m. at the
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth. Funeral services are Thursday, May 31 at 10 a.m.
at the funeral home.

Helen Sherman "Pam" Parmalee
ROCHESTER — Helen Sherman “Pam” Parmalee, 92, of Rochester, died at 8:10 a.m. on
Monday May 28 at Life Care Center of Rochester.
She is survived by one nephew, Lonnie Parmalee of Union City, Calif., and two great nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday May 30 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral
Home, Rochester. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to service at
the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Odd Fellows cemetery, Rochester.
