KNOX — Ruby Mann, 73, of Knox, died at home on Friday, May 11.
She is survived by daughter, Marsha Livingston of Shelby, N.C.; son, Jory Mann of Knox; sister,
Wilma Upsall of Knox; brother, Bill Mann of North Judson; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel, and Tuesday at
the church after 10 a.m.
Services are Tuesday at 11 a.m. (CDT) at Gospel Lighthouse Church of Knox.
Burial will be at Round Lake cemetery, Knox.

Loren J. Borkholder
NAPPANEE — Loren J. Borkholder, 50, of Nappanee, died at his residence Saturday, May 12 at 9:50 a.m.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Borkholder; sons: Jeremy, Joshua, Joel and John Borkholder,
all at home; two grandchildren; mother, Arlowene Borkholder of Goshen; brothers: John B.
(Shirley) Borkholder, Larry (Alta) Borkholder and Lavon (Rita) Borkholder, all of Goshen; and
sister, Norine Borkholder of Goshen.
Visitation was Sunday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home and continues Monday
from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., and one hour prior to services at the church.
Services are Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the North Main Street Mennonite Church.
Burial will be at Berea Church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Berea Benevolence Fund.

Mark Howdeshell
ROCHESTER — Mark Howdeshell, 43, of Rochester, died at 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 12 at home.
He is survived by his wife, Pam, of Rochester; daughter, Stacey (Elliott) Allen of Fishers; son, Dr.
Cory (Rae Ann) Zent of Fishers; one grandson; sister, Rosalie (Mike) Harrison of Port Orange,
Fla.; and brothers: James (Jeanne) Pearcy of McHenry, Ill., Malcolm L. (Lora) Howdeshell of
Rochester, Patrick (Tracy) Howdeshell of Rochester and Matthew C. Howdeshell of Akron.
Visitation is at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and one
hour prior to services Wednesday.
Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Rochester IOOF cemetery.

Wilma M. "Willie" Birk
ROANN – Wilma M. “Willie” Birk, 66, formerly of Plymouth, died of natural causes at her
residence, 10435 N. Stockdale Rd., Roann, at 8:20 a.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2007.
A devoted mother, she was very proud of her children and grandchildren.
Willie was born in Grovertown, Ind., on Nov. 3, 1940. She was the daughter of Elvin Wesley
Eads and Sylvia Reinholt Eads Skoog.
She graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1958.
On Oct. 1, 1960, in Plymouth, Willie and Robert L. Birk were married .
A homemaker, Willie was very creative and artistically skilled. She loved gardening and working
with her lush flowers. She enjoyed sign language and playing games, including Bingo.
Willie appreciated all kinds of music.
She was a member of the Peru Card club and Delta Theta Tau philanthropic sorority.
Willie is survived by her husband Robert and by their five children; three sons and two daughters
Her daughters and grandchildren are: Robin (Peter, “Chip”) VanBuskirk, and their children,
Matthew and Megan, Las Vegas, Nev., and Rhonda (Greg) Dale and their children, Grant and
Gracie, North Manchester.
Her sons are: Rodney (Ann) Birk, and their children, Lindsay (Brian) Swihart, Braden and Bayli,
Wabash: Randall and Estelle Birk and their children, Marissa and Jacob, Las Vegas, Nev., and
Robert “Boo” Birk, Fort Wayne.
Two sisters, Connie (Michael) Gardner, Bremen and Vickie (Kim) Finkenbiner, North Webster
and two brothers, Arlie (Dorothy) Eads, Plymouth and Eugene (Linda) Eads, Las Vegas, Nev.,
also survive.
Willie was preceded in death by her parents and two granddaughters, Brittany Truss and Britain
Birk. A sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Carl Zimmerman have also died.
Friends will be welcomed by Willie’s family to share memories and celebrate her life on
Wednesday, May 16, 2007, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N.
Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Willie will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2006, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
The Rev. Charles Krieg will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Willie’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Claude "Skip", Jr Jameson
ROCHESTER — Claude “Skip” Jameson Jr., 78, of 7577 N. 550 E., Rochester, passed away at
9:34 p.m. on Sunday, May 13 at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, following a sudden illness.
He was born April 21, 1929 in Mishawaka to Claude and Treva Grundish Jameson. On Feb. 11,
1956, he married Harriet Ann Fultz in Rochester. They later divorced.
He was a 1948 graduate of Talma High School and had resided in the Rochester community for
the past 65 years. He was a union electrician, retiring in 1991. He was a member of IBEW Local
#668 for 50 years. He was a U.S. Army and Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member
of the Talma United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the LeRoy Shelton American
Legion, lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of the Elks Lodge of
Rochester. He was also a member of the Mentone Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, St. Joseph
Valley and the Ft. Wayne Shrine Club. He was an avid golfer, loved to garden and fish in
Minnesota.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary E. Jameson of Perkasie, Pa.; son, Charles “Skip” Jameson
of Rochester; two grandchildren: Chelsea Louise Jameson and Trenton Wesley Jameson, both
of Rochester; three nieces: Betsy Gilder of Ohio, Susan Matthews of Texas and Dana Daake of
Rochester; nephew, David Daake of Rochester; and brother-in-law, Vitte Rudnickas of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Joanne Jameson; and two sisters:
Janice Rudnickas and Sandra Daake.
Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16 and one hour prior to
services Thursday in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester.
Funeral services are Thursday, May 17 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Beezley
officiating.
Burial will be at the Graceland cemetery, Claypool. The LeRoy Shelton American Legion and the
Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct military graveside services.
Memorials may be made to the LeRoy Shelton American Legion.

Kimberly S. Smith
BOURBON — Kimberly S. Smith, 37, of Bourbon, died on Sunday, May 13.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Linda K. and Johnny Williams of Walkerton; her
father and stepmother, Dewey T. Sr. and Anna Smith of Winamac; sons: Shawn T. Allen and
William Preston Allen, both of Bourbon; one grandson; sister, Shelley Haddix of Plymouth;
stepsisters: Janeen Berndt of Hamlet and Deana Jordan of Kingsford Heights; and brother,
Dewey T. Smith Jr. of New Carlisle.
Visitation is Wednesday, May 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. CDT at the O’Donnell Funeral Home, North
Judson, and after 10 a.m. CDT at the church. Funeral services are Thursday, May 17 at 11 a.m.
at Global Harvest Church, Knox.
Burial will be at Highland cemetery, North Judson.

Margaret F. (Walterhouse-Nicholas) Parcell
LAPORTE — Margaret F. (Walterhouse-Nicholas) Parcell, 96, died at 8:40 p.m. on Monday,
May 14 at the Countryside Nursing Home in LaPorte.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Simpson of Mill Creek; sons: Donald Nicholas of
Walkerton, Billy Nicholas of Salem, Ore., Harold Nicholas of Phoenix, Ariz., Dale and Richard
Nicholas both of Niles, Mich. And John Nicholas of Mill Creek; stepdaughters: Vera Kozak of
Elkhart and Evelyn Tschupp of Milford and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 18 and one hour before services on
Saturday, at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May
19 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Bremen cemetery.

Robert L. Hodge
CULVER - Robert L. Hodge, 81, of Culver passed away on May 15, 2007 at 4:55 p.m. at
Memorial Hospital of South Bend.
Robert was born on March 11, 1926 in Carbondale, W. Va., one of three children born to
Cornwallace and Celia (Burns) Hodge. After leaving school early, he served his country in the
U.S. Army. On June 28, 1957 he married Viola Edison in Logan, W. Va. She preceded him in
death on Oct. 29, 1990. They have one daughter.
Bob worked for 16 years as a coal miner in W. Va. He enjoyed fishing and taking care of his two
companions - Duke and Duchess. He was a materials driver for R.R. Donnelley in Warsaw.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Richard) Parkhurst of Tinley Park, Ill.; sister, Frances
Hans of San Antonio, Texas, granddaughters: Wendi Norton of Culver and Melissa (Tom)
O'Donnell of Tinley Park, Ill., and great-grandchildren: Gavin Norton of Culver and Joshua and
Ashley O'Donnell of Tinley Park, Ill. Robert is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one
brother.
Friends may join the family in remembering and celebrating his life on Friday, May 18, 2007 from
4 to 8 p.m. EDT at the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home in Culver. Funeral services will be
conducted on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at 1 p.m. EDT with a 1/2 hour visitation before the service
at the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Culver Masonic cemetery. Memorial
contributions may be given to the Guiding Eyes For the Blind in Robert's memory.

Matthew L. Palm
KENANSVILLE, Fla. - Matthew L. Palm, 95, of Kenansville, Fla., formerly of Culver, died at 3:20
p.m. on Tuesday, May 15 at home.
He is survived by his wife, Viola Palm of Kenansville, Fla.; son, David Myers of Palm Bay, Fla.;
daughter, Janice (John) Korbell of Naples, Fla.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Monday, May 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver.
Funeral services are Monday, May 21 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Culver Masonic cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice, 5151 Adanson St., Suite 200, Orlando, FL.

Paul D. "Sarge" Copeland
MARION, Ohio — Paul D. “Sarge” Copeland, 81, of Marion, Ohio, passed away Wednesday,
May 16, 2007, at his residence.
Born Jan. 18, 1926, in Marion, Ohio, he was the son of the late Harry G. and Metta L. (Bush)
Copeland Sr.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II from 1942-1945. He later served in the
U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater from 1948-1953. He was also in the
U.S. Army from 1953 until his retirement in 1965 serving in Panama, Korea and the United
States.
On April 1, 1971, he married Rosella (Britz) and she survives in Marion.
Paul was superintendent of the Sanitation Service Department with the city of Marion for 30
years, retiring in 1993. A lifetime resident of Marion, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge
#70, the Moose #889 and the Eagles #337.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a son, Charles (Connie) Campiti of Plymouth;
grandsons: Anthony Campiti and Jason (Jackie) Campiti; great-grandchildren: Gracie and John
Campiti; and a brother, Gene Copeland of Tulsa, Okla.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Harry Copeland Jr. and Richard Copeland; and a
sister, Ruth Warwick.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2007, at St. Mary’s cemetery
with Father Michael Nimocks officiating.
Military rites will be observed by the Marion County United Veterans Council. Friends may call
12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Boyd Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Heartland Hospice
or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Leona May Gerard Lutes
NAPPANEE — Leona May Gerard Lutes, 86, of Nappanee, died at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16 at home.
She is survived by a son, Dewayne (Penny) Lutes of Warsaw; two grandchildren; and a sister,
Sarah Sechrist of Etna Green.
Visitation is Sunday, May 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral
Home, Nappanee and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 21 at Mt. Tabor Church of God, Nappanee.
Burial will be at Stony Point cemetery, Nappanee.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Church of God

Salvatore "Sammy" Bianco
KNOX - Salvatore "Sammy" Bianco, 59, of Knox, died on Thursday, May 17 at Memorial
Hospital, South Bend.
He is survived by his wife, Trina; daughter, Tammy Bianco; son, Michael Bianco; mother,
Theresa Bianco; sisters: Josephine Shinevar and Theresa Brauch; stepdaughters: Renee Craig,
Rebecca Garab and Nichole Dudek; stepson, Edward Dudek; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation is Monday, May 21 from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the Rannells Funeral
Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Funeral services are Monday at 1 p.m. CDT at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the family.
