George Robert Francis (Lee) Baldwin
CULVER — George Robert Francis (Lee) Baldwin, 75, of Culver, died at 2:35 p.m. on Tuesday,
Jan. 9 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
He is survived by a son, Michael Baldwin of Wheeling, Ill.; daughter, Kirsti San (Gary) Trecker of
Lake Zurich, Ill.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Friday, Jan. 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver.
Funeral services are Saturday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, Culver.
Burial will be at the Culver Masonic cemetery.
Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Paul Baughman
WALKERTON — Paul Baughman, 80, of Walkerton, died on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at home.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Pat); daughters: Pamela Adkins and Paula (Jerry) Skorup,
both of Walkerton; sister, Betty (LaMar) Metcalf of Plymouth; brother, Eugene (Pauline)
Baughman of Plymouth and Glen Baughman of South Bend; three grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Friday, Jan. 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 13 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at
Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel.
Funeral services are Saturday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, Walkerton.
Burial will be at Woodlawn cemetery, Walkerton, with military graveside services conducted by
the American Legion Post #189.
Memorials may be made to the Center for Hospice & Palliative Care.
Vera V. Hummel
BREMEN — Vera V. Hummel, 94, of Bremen, died at 12:38 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at home.
She is survived by daughters: Charlene F. (Tom) Guyse of Bremen and Shirley A. (Anthony)
Schalliol of Wyatt; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Friday, Jan. 12 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
Funeral services are Saturday, Jan. 13 at 10:30 a.m. at Salem United Methodist Church, Bremen.
Burial will be in the Bremen cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Salem United Methodist Church of Bremen.
Anna D. Patrick
MONTEREY — Anna D. Patrick, 91, of Monterey, died on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at home.
She is survived by her children: Arlene (James) Fleury of Monterey, Stanley S. (Verlie) Patrick of
Columbia, S.C. and Phyllis A. Patrick of Monterey; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 11 from 2 to 8 p.m. at M.C. Smith Funeral Home, Knox.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, Jan. 12 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Burial will be at St. Anne cemetery, Monterey.
Jeanette E. Russo
PLYMOUTH — Jeannette E. Russo, 68, of Plymouth, died on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at Saint Joseph
Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Nicholas of Des Plaines, Ill.; brother, John Russo of Des
Plaines, Ill.; and friend, Cindy Procter of Plymouth.
Visitation is Friday, Jan. 12 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth.
Funeral services are Friday, Jan. 12 at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Allene "Chris" Stubblefield
CULVER — Allene "Chris" Stubblefield, 70, of Culver, beloved daughter, wife, mother and
grandmother passed away Jan. 9, 2007. She was the daughter of longtime Culver residents
Werner and Ida Carlson who have preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband Frank M. Stubblefield Jr.; her sons: Frank M. Stubblefield III,
Werner W. (Susan) Stubblefield and John P. (Michele) Stubblefield; and her daughter, Kathleen
S. (John) Sweeney. She is also survived by two grandsons: William - May "Bo" Stubblefield and
J.W.C. “Sam” Stubblefield and two granddaughters: Madalyn Stubblefield and Gabrielle Stubblefield.
Chris was an active volunteer in the Culver community and Culver Academies.
In lieu of flowers offerings to celebrate the life of Chris Stubblefield may be made to Culver Club
of Culver Cabin Fund, c/o Dan Osborn, 1111 West Shore Dr., Culver, IN 46511, or St.
Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church c/o Judi Dodge, 751 East Shore Dr., Culver, IN 46511.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007 from 2 to 2:30 p.m. at the Culver Academies
Memorial Chapel where services will then be conducted by Rev. Tom Steffen, Susan Haynes,
and Margie Shaw. Burial will follow at Culver Masonic cemetery.
Frederick A. Williams
WALKERTON — Fredrick A. “Fred” Williams, a lifetime area resident living on Thorn Road,
Walkerton, died unexpectedly from an apparent heart attack at 8:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9,
2007. Fred, 59, died in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Born in Plymouth on Oct. 25, 1947, Fred was the son of Raymond and Arlene Brown Williams.
He attended Walkerton schools.
He was a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the United States Army.
On Dec. 29, 1972, in Plymouth, Fred and Janice L. Erickson were married
.
Fred worked for 26 years in Mishawaka as a carpenter for Gibson and Lewis Corp.
He was known to love his family and his children and enjoyed working on his mini farm. Fred
was a “piddler.” He loved to help people and to share his skills and teach people how to do
things right.
An outdoorsman, he was a fisherman and a skeet shooter. He was a coach for the Hoosier Gun
Swingers, a children’s group that he taught how to skeet shoot.
A member of the National Rifle Association, he was active in the V.F.W. Post 1954, North
Liberty, the American Legion and AmVets of Ohio.
Fred is survived by his wife, Janice, Walkerton, and by their daughter and two sons.
Their daughter Beth Ann Erickson and her friend Margo Boswell, live in Tyner. His sons are Skip
and Lisa Erickson, Tyner, and Jeff and Susan Erickson, Mishawaka.
Nine grandchildren: Tony, Bobby, Brandon, Andrew, Nicole, Paris, P.J., Vinnie, Alex and many
more adopted kids and grandchildren survive his death.
Three brothers and three sisters also survive. They are brothers: Wayne and Elaine Williams,
Tyner, Glendon and Linda Williams, Plymouth and Paul and Cathy Williams, Angus Valley, Fla.
His sisters are Kathy and Don Keller, Zephryhills, Fla., Diane Sobeck, Kissimmee, Fla. and
Sharon Williams, Walkerton.
An aunt, Lavon and Ray Lange of Rolling Prairie and his mother-in-law, Donna Huffer of Tyner,
also survive.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends are invited to share memories with Fred’s family in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral
Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Graveside services for Fred will be held after visitation in the Tyner cemetery, Tyner, where
North Liberty V.F.W. Post 1954 will provide military honors.
Memorial gifts in Fred’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Vernon "Pete" Berg
HAMLET — Vernon “Pete” Berg, 69, of Hamlet, died on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at home.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Berg; daughter, Veronica Labonte of Portage; sons:
Vernon of Illinois and Leo of Hamlet; sisters: Helen Stone of Orland Park, Ill., Janice Elerson of
Ohio, Betsy King of Knox and Mary Aquino of Hamlet; brothers: Wayne of Walkerton, Edward of
Ohio, Ted of Texas and David and Daniel, both of Knox; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Friday, Jan. 12 from 3 to 8 p.m CST at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel and
Saturday two hours before services at the church.
Funeral services are Saturday, Jan. 13 at 1 p.m. CST at St. Matthew Church, Hamlet.
Burial will be at Fletcher cemetery, Hamlet.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Premier Hospice or the church.
Louis Peter Dlugosz
DONALDSON — Louis Peter Dlugosz, 86, of Donaldson, died on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at the
Catherine Kasper Home at Ancilla.
He is survived by his wife, Estelle.
Visitation is Friday, Jan. 12 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at Catherine Kasper Home Chapel at Ancilla. A
funeral mass will be Saturday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. at the chapel.
Burial will take place at Crown Hill cemetery, Knox.
M.C. Smith Funeral Home, Knox, is in charge of arrangements.
Sister Frances Herumin
DONALDSON — Sr. Frances Herumin PHJC, 92, of Donaldson, died on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at
Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
She is survived by a sister, Cecilia Augustyniak of Greendale, Wis.
Visitation is Sunday, Jan. 14 from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at the Catherine Kasper Home Chapel,
Donaldson, with a rosary at 7 p.m.
Funeral services are Monday, Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. at the chapel.
Burial will be at Mount Carmel cemetery, Donaldson.
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth, is in charge of arrangements.
Mary H. (Hoel) Olin
ARGOS — Mary H. (Hoel) Olin, 11982 S.R. 10, recently of Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth,
passed away peacefully with her family present.
Mary was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved to do
needlework and travel with family.
She was married
at the Congregational Christian Church in South Bend to Kenneth Reed Olin on
Dec. 21, 1940. Kenneth preceded her on Oct. 25, 2005.
Mary was the eldest child of Edgar Lee and Esther Grube (Hoel) Farmer born in South Bend.
She attended school in South Bend where she graduated from Washington Clay High School in 1939.
Survivors include one daughter, Marjorie Ann Olin (Dan) Snider; one son, Kenneth Lee
(Barbara) Olin; two grandchildren: Russell Eric Olin Snider and Amy Marie Olin; three great-grandchildren:
RJ, Caleb and Johanna Christine Rose Snider; and one brother, William Hoel of
Camden, Mich. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Brian Daniel Snider and her
brother, Edgar Lee Hoel.
Mary always held her family as her top priority. She supported her husband Kenneth through his
master’s degree in education and his principal’s and superintendent’s license. She was a
homemaker and was always there for her children, making them clothes and supporting their
school and church activities. As an adult, she was active and a lifetime member of the Methodist
Church in Leiters Ford and Argos.
Mary Olin’s strongest talent was her sewing and her needlework. She was an excellent
seamstress and made many clothes for her family including her in-laws, grandchildren and
neighbors that were in need. She made altar cloths for the Argos United Methodist Church and
many table runners and doilies for family and friends. Her top achievement was a Hardanger
piece that a friend talked her into entering in the Indiana State Fair. She won a blue ribbon and
grand champion. She was surprised and proud.
She was a member of the Argos United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir with her
husband. She was in the Eastern Star and she and Ken supported many community activities.
Mary loved to go on camping trips with her husband and children each summer. She made
friends easily and loved the camping atmosphere. After Ken retired they enjoyed traveling with
their GMC truck and Jayco camper all over North America. They were often joined by family and
friends and spent three or four months each winter traveling to Texas, Arizona and California.
Visitation and memories may be shared at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m.
and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13 at the
Argos United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Vale officiating.
Visitation will also be from 10 to 10:50 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in the New Oak Hill
cemetery in Plymouth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Argos United Methodist Church
(building fund), Marshall County Center for Hospice & Palliative Care or the American Cancer Society.
