Marilyn J. Neill

Marilyn J. Neill, 68, residing in South Bend, died at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2007 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, following an illness.
She was born August 10, 1938 in South Bend, and has remained a lifelong resident of this area. She attended Central High School, and retired from the Building Services Dept. at the University of Notre Dame, following fifteen years of employment.
On May 24, 1980 in South Bend, she was united in marriage to Jimmy B. Neill who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Tammy (Larry) Fribley of South Bend, Kim (Ron) Franklin of Osceola, and Mikki (Larry) Cabanaw of Mishawaka. In addition, Marilyn is survived by seven grandchildren, Carrie (Ron) King, Ben (Bethany) Cabanaw, Derek Hann, Stephanie Hann, Dillon Franklin, Christine Weeks, and Cory Weeks, and four great-grandchildren.
Marilyn loved her cat, Kallie, was an enormous Notre Dame football fan, and always enjoyed her flowers and gardening.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 23, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend. Rev. Denver Burns and Rev. Erv Mize, of Michiana Community Church of God, Granger, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 22, at the funeral home.
Charles K. Lambe
June 4, 1929 - July 18, 2007
Charles K. Lambe, 78, of Mishawaka, IN passed away at 4:30PM Wednesday, July 18, 2007 in his home. He served as a dedicated serviceman for NIPSCO for 39 ½ years retiring in 1989. He was born on June 4, 1929 in Bloomington, IN to the late Charles and Iris Opal (Houston) Lambe, and moved to Mishawaka in 1947. On September 20, 1975 in South Bend, IN he married
Judy Gerard who survives.
Along with his loving wife, Judy Lambe; he is survived by his daughters, Deborah (David) Nochimson of Granby, CT, Elizabeth (Joe) Rodriguez of Davies, FL, and Diane (Steve) Sumrall of St. Joseph, MI. He was also a father to Michele (Alan) Smith and Terri (Steve) Douglas, both of South Bend. Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren; two great-grandsons; four sisters, Naomi (Bob) Strickland of Anderson, IN, Rebekah Plaia of South Bend, Mirium (Arthur) Michaels of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, and June Hartleroad of Bloomington, IN; and one brother, Phillip (Susie) Lambe of Bloomington. One granddaughter, Raffaela Nardi, preceded him in death.
Mr. Lambe enjoyed his retirement by wintering in Fort Myers, FL and golfing with his friends. He was an avid Notre Dame football and Indiana University basketball fan. He was a very loving grandfather. Mr. Lambe was a member of Christ Chapel, South Bend.
Memorial services will be 12 Noon Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at First Brethren Church, 4909 S. Ironwood, South Bend. Rev. Larry Baker will officiate. The family will receive friends at church from 10:00AM until time of services on Wednesday.

Mildred E. "Millie" Palmer, 82, of Belleaire, FL, died at 9:35 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2007, in her home following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 29, 1924, in St. Petersburg, FL, to George D. and Alice (Tabler) Enwright. She had lived in South Bend for many years with her husband Gene who owned the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company. They divided their time between Indiana and Florida until recent years. On October 13, 1962, in Chicago, IL, she was united in marriage to Gene L. Palmer. She is survived by her husband, Gene of 44 years, along with a stepson, David Palmer of San Miguel, CA. Also surviving are a daughter-in-law, Wendy Palmer of California, and numerous nieces and nephews. Millie was preceded in death by her parents; a step-son, Stephen Palmer on March 2, 2002; a sister, Betty Tinen; and brothers, George, William and John Enwright. Mrs. Palmer began her career at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago until her marriage. She was a member of the Morris Park Country Club, and was a former member of St. Michael's and All Angels Episcopal Church in South Bend where she taught Sunday school for 10 years, and was a member of the Altar Guild for more than 25 years. In Florida she was a member of Good Samaritan Episcopal Church. Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Tina Velthuizen will officiate. Entombment will follow at Riverview Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Services were also conducted at the Moss Feaster Funeral Home in Clearwater, FL, on Wednesday, July 18. Robert Bushman
May 15, 1945 - July 16, 2007
Robert Bushman, 62, died Monday, July 16, 2007, in his home. He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer (Matt) Jones of Boston, MA, and Suzi Jacobs of Mishawaka; a son, Robert Bushman of Michigan City; and eight grandchildren. He was a member of Four Lakes Country Club, Edwardsburg, MI. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 20, in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be at Fairview cemetery, Mishawaka.
Arthur L. Franson
August 8, 1916 - July 16, 2007
Arthur L. Franson, 90, residing in Oak Ridge, TN, formerly of Caroline Street, South Bend, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2007 in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.
He was born August 8, 1916 in Fowler, IN as the son of Jacob and Edith Franson, and lived in South Bend since 1965 coming from Michigan City, IN. He has lived in Oak Ridge since 2006.
On September 10, 1939 in Remington, IN, he married
Frances L. Daniels. They enjoyed 54 years of marriage until her passing on February 1, 1994.
Mr. Franson is survived by two daughters, Christine M. Chmielewski of South Bend, and Karen L. Lawlor of Oak Ridge, TN, two sons, Eric J. (Janice) Franson of Indianapolis, IN, and Edward C. (Raechel) Franson of LaPorte, IN. Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. In addition, he is survived by four sisters, Iris Trachel, Ellen Mancuso, Caroline Sharlach, and Amy Lague, and a brother, Richard Franson.
Ronald K. Avery, Jr.
January 17, 1962 - July 14, 2007
Ronald K. Avery, Jr., 45, died Saturday at home. He is survived by wife, Claudia Avery; children, Amber, Kelly, Ronald, III and Noah Avery-Hoffer all of North Judson, IN; parents, Ronald K. and Betty (Doyle) Avery of Middlebury, IN; and brothers, Randy (Dawn) Avery of Novi, MI and Rodney (Jodi) Avery of South Bend. Services will be 11AM Wednesday in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend, IN. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to Palmer Funeral Home to defray final expenses.
Casimir "Pinky" Pinkowski
February 13, 1931 - July 14, 2007
Casimir "Pinky" Pinkowski, 76, residing in North Liberty, passed away at 9:09 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Mr. Pinkowski was born on February 13, 1931 in South Bend to the late Casimir S. and Mary (Borlik) Pinkowski. He has remained a lifelong resident. On October 22, 1955 in South Bend, he married
the former Marjorie "Marge" Mears who survives.
Along with his wife, Marge, survivors include; one daughter, Brenda (Greg) Aldrich of North Liberty; one son, Scott (Mary) Pinkowski of South Bend; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Aldrich of Indianapolis, James Aldrich of North Liberty, Justin (Tara) Berryman of Mishawaka, Rachel Berryman of Mishawaka, Christian Pinkowski of South Bend and Joshua Pinkowski of South Bend; three great grandchildren, Max, Kaitlyn, and Beka Berryman; and two sisters, Adeline Corrigan of Three Rivers, MI and Lorraine (Max) Horton of Alma, Ark. One sister, Betty Trzaskowski, preceded her brother in death.
Mr. Pinkowski was employed as a cement mason where he retired after 50 years with Local 101 in South Bend. He served his country in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Lydick Lions Club, North Liberty Masonic Lodge #266, F & AM, and American Legion Post 365 in North Liberty.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Rev. Mark Kline will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn cemetery, South Bend, where military rites will be performed by American Legion Post 365, North Liberty. Friends may visit with the family from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17th at the funeral home where a Masonic memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Mildred Hannah Major

Mildred Hannah Major, 87, residing in South Bend, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007 in her home. She was born February 10, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois as the daughter of John & Evelyn (Price) Weber, and has lived in South Bend most of her life.
On November 21, 1938 in South Bend she married
Joseph Major who preceded her in death on February 9, 1992.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Tom Major and Terry Major, and a daughter Susan Newton in 2006.
Mrs. Major is survived by three daughters, Dolly (Jerry) White of Plymouth, IN, Kathy (Ron) Patzer of Niles, MI, and Meme (Joe) Amador of Florida, and a son, Tim Major of California.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 16, at Mount Pleasant cemetery, South Bend. The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend.
Virginia L. Priebe

Virginia Lorea Priebe, 86, died Monday in Regency Place of South Bend. Her husband, Lloyd D. Priebe and daughters, Linda Kreps & Pam Priebe preceded her in death. Survivors include sons, Gary (Diana) of South Bend and Lloyd (Lena) of Florida; grandchildren, Dennis, Lorea, Robert, Skeeter, Jeff, Tina, Gary, Jr., Stacie and Bobbie Lynn; 23 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; and brothers, Perry and Jack. Friends may call from 4-6PM Thursday in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend. Burial will take place in Fairview cemetery, Mishawaka.
Zoie S. Triplet
December 3, 1998 - July 9, 2007
Zoie S. Triplet, 8, of Bremen, IN passed away at 1:24 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2007 near the intersection of U.S. 6 and King Roads from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born on December 3, 1998 in Mishawaka, IN to Tony and Sherri (Dutoi) Triplet.
Zoie is survived by her parents, Tony and Sherri Triplet of Bremen, IN; a brother, Zachary S. Triplet at home; maternal grandparents, Dale and Marilyn Dutoi of Bremen, IN; paternal grandparents, Charles F. & Judy Triplet Jr. of Culver, IN; uncles and aunts, David & Rachel Dutoi of Bremen, IN, Debbie & John Warwick of Bluffton, IN and Victor & Tina Triplet of South Bend, IN. A brother, Zane Triplet passed away with Zoie as the result of the automobile accident and paternal grandmother, Mildred Triplet also preceded her in death.
Zoie was a student at LaVille Elementary School entering the 3rd grade in the fall. She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and a member of the Union Township 4 –H. Zoie played soccer and softball for LaVille and upward basketball. She also played in the Marshall County Jr. Golf Tour.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2007 in the Cathedral of St. Matthew, 1701 Miami Road, South Bend, IN. Rev. Tom King, C.S.C. will officiate. Burial will follow in Lambs Settlement, Bremen. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2007 in the LaVille High School gymnasium, 69969 U.S. 31 South, Lakeville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to the Scholarship Fund in memory of Zane & Zoie Triplet at any 1st Source Banking Center.
