Jeffrey Hann
SURPRISE, Ariz. — Jeffrey Hann, 21, Gunners Mate United States Navy, Norfolk, Va, died
unexpectedly Friday, Nov. 9 aboard the U.S.S. Ashland.

He was born to Carl and Peggy (Lemke) Hann in Walnut Creek, Calif. On Sept 24, 1986.

He is survived by his parents who now reside in Surprise, Ariz. And his sister Katie Hann also of
Surprise.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Earl and Virginia Lemke.

Services were held in Arizona Nov. 17. Another memorial will be held in California on Dec. 8.

Donations can be made to the Life Net Health Foundation 1864 Concert Dr.. Virginia Beach, VA
23453 or your local donor organization. Many lives have been saved by the donation of Jeffrey's
organs.

His ashes were buried at the Arizona National Military cemetery.

Twiford Funeral Home, Chesapeake, Va., handled the arrangements.

Doris E. Hindman
ARGOS – Longtime Argos High School educator, Doris E. Hindman passed away at her home
on Friday, November 9, 2007. Doris died of natural causes at the age of 92. She always
appreciated the Argos Community and the attention she received from colleagues and friends
alike.

Doris was born in Viola, Illinois on October 31, 1915, the daughter of James Robert “J.R.” and
Carrie (Black) Reynolds. She was raised in Rushville, Ill. And there graduated from high school.

She received her higher education from Western Illinois University at Macomb where she had
the distinction of interviewing the famed aviator; Amelia Earhart for a journalism class. She
graduated with a teaching degree with a major in Biology and minor in English.

On July 7, 1943 in Seattle, Washington she married Clifford Stanley Hindman who was stationed
there in the U.S. Army’s last Horse Cavalry Division.

After living for a period of time in Ohio the couple moved to Argos in 1957 and raised their two
sons. Doris would first teach English at Talma High School with a total of 53 students. She went
on to teach at Bourbon and retired in 1978 after many years of service at the Argos High School.

She was an honored member of Delta Kappa Gamma an international society of women
educators and a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association.

Prior to the passing of her spouse on June 30, 1987 the couple enjoyed attending horse shows
and traveling – especially when returning to the beautiful Northwest.

Doris enjoyed the company of many friends. She attended exercise class, working with Braille
for the Blind, and watching many spectator sports; her favorite being that of Notre Dame.

With a great appreciation for literature, Doris was an avid reader and served many years on the
Argos Library Board.

Her surviving family members are; her two sons: Richard R. and wife Rebecca Hindman of
Fairmount, Ind. And Barry E. and wife Diane Hindman of Indianapolis, Ind. Eight grandchildren
include: Cameron R. Hindman, Colin E. Hindman, Tyler A. Hindman, Monica Ottman, Lezley
Hindman, Krystal Burlingame, Bobbie Jo Steidinger and Adam Buttry along with 13 great-grandchildren.

Doris’ grandson; Christian S. Hindman and sister; Vivian Kuderna have also preceded her in
death.
Friends are invited to join the family to celebrate her life on Tuesday, November 13, 2007, from
2 – 4 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. A service
will follow visitation at 4 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Philip Platz, pastor of the Argos
Bible Church, where Doris attended worship services.

Burial will be in the Rushville cemetery at Rushville, Ill.

Memorial gifts in Doris’ memory may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Dolly B. Hoover
PLYMOUTH — Dollie B. Hoover, age 86, of 635 Oak Hill Avenue, Plymouth, passed away at
7:05 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.

Dollie was born on April 23, 1921, in West Township, Marshall County, to Lloyd and Ruth
(Wilson) Abair. Dollie and Warren D. Hoover were married Nov. 7, 1941. They lived their entire
lives in the Marshall County area. Together they raised their two children.

Dollie was a wife, homemaker, and a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed spending time with her
family, making quilts, and baby quilts, through the church. She encouraged her children, by
telling them they could be or do anything they put their minds to.

Dollie was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Plymouth; the Baby Quilting Club, at
the church; and later worked for the Plymouth School Corporation, in the cafeteria.

Dollie is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Warren D. Hoover; their son, Phillip and
Jane Hoover of Boise, Idaho; their daughter, Linda Woodall of Orlando, Fla.; five grandchildren;
and her sisters, Beatrice Mertens of Muncie and Alice Opal ofRichmond. She was preceded in
death by her sisters, Shirley Morlock and Virginia Abair; and her brother, Donald Abair.

Funeral services for Dollie will be held Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity United
Methodist Church, 425 S. Michigan St., Plymouth, with Michael Burroughs officiating. Burial will
be in New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth.

A time of visiting with the Hoover family, will be on Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at
the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563 and from 9:30 a.m. to
10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral service.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Trinity United Methodist Church.

Kent E. Lucas
CULVER — Kent E. Lucas, 54, of Culver, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007 at home.

He is survived by his parents, Cecil and Joan Lucas of Culver; brother, Kurt O. Lucas of Culver;
and sister, Karen Lucas of South Bend.

There will be no visitation. Funeral services are Saturday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Bonine-Odom
Funeral Home, Culver.

Burial will be private.

Memorials may be made to the Culver-Union Township Public Library.

Bill E. Wieringa
CULVER — Bill E. Wieringa, 56, of Culver, died Nov. 9, 2007 at the St. Joseph Regional Medical
Center, Plymouth.

He is survived by his parents, William L. and Nita J. of Culver; two brothers: Larry A. (Cindy)
Wieringa and Chuck (Susie) Wieringa of Knox; and two sisters: Mary (Michael) Guyse of
Syracuse and Connie (Ron) James of Ora.

Visitation will be held, Monday, Nov. 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Tuesday,
Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. at Bodine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver.

Burial will be at Culver Masonic cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center’s Oncology Center,
Plymouth.

Keith L. Weldon
WALKERTON — Keith L. Weldon, 60, of Walkerton, died Nov. 10, 2007 at his home after an illness.

He is survived by his mother, Lilly of Walkerton; five sisters: Sarah Robinson of Walkerton,
Dianna Pointon of Plymouth, Rose Heck of Ober, Bonnie Armentrout of Hamlet, Kathy Weldon
of Hamlet; three brothers: Rolland of Inwood and Rick and Mark of Walkerton.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, after 11 a.m.
until services at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel.

Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Oak Hill
cemetery, Plymouth.

Willodean Brown
ROCHESTER — Willodean Brown, 88, of Rochester, died at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007 at home.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Brown; son, Gerald “Jerry” (Cheryl) Brown of Rochester;
eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and brothers: Virgil
(Norma) Wagoner of Rochester, Cletis (Beverly) Wagoner of Leiters Ford and Cleon Wagoner
of Plymouth.

Visitation is Tuesday, Nov. 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester,
and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Rochester.

Burial will be at the Rochester IOOF cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, Rochester.

Herman D. Holloway
MENTONE — Herman D. Holloway, 98, of Mentone, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007 at Life
Care Center of Rochester.

He is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Jim) Vigar of Madera, Calif.; sons: Paul (Sharon)
Holloway of Rochester and Mike (Barbara) Holloway of Mentone; eight grandchildren; and 14
great-grandchildren.

Visitation is Wednesday, Nov. 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Thursday at the
Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester.

Funeral services are Thursday, Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the
Rochester IOOF cemetery.

LeeAnne Hundt
PLYMOUTH – LeeAnne Hundt, 13490 West 5th C Road, Plymouth, died of natural causes at
11:45 a.m., on Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

LeeAnne was 47-years-old. Born in Tucson, Ariz. On Aug. 21, 1960, she was the daughter of
Bill Self and Dee Anne Shake.

A graduate of Laramie High School, she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing at IUSB.

On June 25, 1978, in Laramie, Wyo., Lee Anne and Gene Hundt were married .

She worked as a nurse in the Michiana Behavioral Health Care and as a travel agent at the Elite
Travel Agency.

A beautiful, active woman, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and friends. She
enjoyed dancing, camping and bowling.

An Indianapolis Colts and Notre Dame fan, she enjoyed watching the games and cheering for
her teams.

She was an avid reader and liked to travel.

She gave generously of her time and talents to her friends, neighbors and community.

In 2002, LeeAnne was given the Community Leadership and National Leadership Award. She
was named as a Who’s Who Among University Students in 1992-1993 and had also been
honored with an American Red Cross Fund Raising and Services Award.

LeeAnne is survived by Gene, her husband of 29 years, and by their two children: a son Chad,
and daughter, Trisha and Jesse Hemminger, all of Plymouth. Three grandchildren and one more
on the way survive as well.

LeeAnne’s mother and step-father, Dee and Francis Shake of Arizona and her father and stepmother,
Bill and Rama Self of Colorado, also survive, together with a sister and three brothers.
They are Debbie (Vince) Johnson of Arizona, David (Reasa) Shake of Arizona, Devlon (Michele)
Self of Georgia, Shannon and Largwin of Georgia, and Randy (Shari) Self of Tennessee.

LeeAnne’s family invites friends to come and share memories and celebrate her life from 3 to 8
p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St.,
Plymouth.

Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16 in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at the funeral home. John Kreischer will
officiate.

Burial will be in the New Oakhill cemetery.

Betty E. Morse
ELKHART — Betty E. Morse, 82, of Elkhart, died at 4:23 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2007 at Riverside
Village.

She is survived by her husband, Albert M. Morse of Elkhart; sons: Robert L. Foley of Ellennton,
Fla. And John E. Foley of White Pigeon, Mich.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
seven step-children; 17 step-grandchildren; 30 step-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ira L.
Schwyn of Coloma, Mich.

Visitation is Thursday, Nov. 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home &
Crematory, Elkhart. Funeral services are Friday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Rice cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Cynthia Gene Scroggs Tanner
Cynthia Gean Scroggs Tanner, 59, lost her battle with cancer on Nov. 12, 2007. She was born in
South Bend on Oct. 22, 1948 to Madeline and Robert G. Scroggs, who preceded her in death.
She married William (Bill) Tanner of Plymouth on May 8, 1994.

Cynthia Tanner leaves behind her cherished husband of 13 years, William (Bill) Tanner of
Plymouth; brothers: Douglas (Jan Velting) Scroggs of South Bend, Donald (Lorraine) Scroggs of
Portland, Tenn., John Scroggs of South Bend; and sister, Bonnie (Joseph) Sima of South Bend.

Cynthia attended the First Seventh-Day Adventist Church and Junior Academy in South Bend,
and graduated in 1968 from Indiana Academy in Cicero. She worked as a swing manager and
in Public Relations for McDonald’s Restaurants in South Bend, for 36 years.

Our big sister will always be loved and missed until Jesus comes and we will all be reunited.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528
Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, with Edna Jean Knox officiating. Graveside services and burial
will follow at Southlawn cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov.
16 at the funeral home.

Contributions may be offered to The Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook
Court, South Bend, IN 46637.

Mary M. Good
MONTEREY — Mary M. Good, 83, of Monterey, died at 9:19 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007 at Saint
Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.

She is survived by daughters: Dixie Good of Rochester and Debbie (Patrick) Machamer of
Winamac; sons: Don (Margaret) Good of Monterey and Dean (Gwen) Good of Monterey; 10
grandchildren; brother, Chester Sparks; and two sisters-in-law: Onda Good of North Manchester
and Pauline Good of Monterey.

Visitation is Friday, Nov. 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, and
one hour prior to the services in the church Saturday. Funeral services are Saturday, Nov. 17 at
10 a.m. at Monterey United Methodist Church.

Burial will be at Riverside cemetery, Monterey.

Memorials may be made to the Don and Mary Good Scholarship Fund or to the Monterey United
Methodist Church.

Eugene E. Keck
SOUTH BEND — Eugene E. Keck, 81, of 20762, Roycroft Drive, South Bend, passed away
Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at 11:32 a.m., at Hospice House in South Bend.

Gene was born on July 24, 1926, in Bremen to Alfred and Zelma (Yenna) Keck. Gene served his
country during WWII in the Navy. Iris Couts and Eugene Keck were married on May 21, 1948.
Gene worked for Conrail as a chief train dispatcher out of Chicago, Ill.

Gene is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Iris; their daughter Angie (Kent) Arnsbartger of North
Liberty; their son Terry Gene (Tammy) Keck of Florida; his brother, Forest Laudeman of
Bremen; his sisters: Margaret Smith of South Bend, Shirley Thomas of Mishawaka and Irene
Sims of Texas; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
his son, David.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at 2 p.m., at Van Gilder Funeral Home in
Plymouth.

A time of visiting with the family will be Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, from noon to 2 p.m., at Van Gilder
Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN, 46563. Burial will be in New Oak Hill
cemetery, Plymouth.
