Susan M. Korp Snedeker
ARGOS — Susan M. Korp Snedeker, 36, of Argos, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007.
She is survived by a son, Brennen Snedeker of Argos; parents, Paul and Catherine (Jones) Korp
of Puryear, Tenn.; and a brother, Paul (Wendy) Korp Jr. of Knox; and a niece, Sarah Korp of
Knox.
Visitation is Thursday, Nov. 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the M.C. Smith Funeral Home, Knox.
Funeral services are Friday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Crown Hill cemetery, Knox.
Terry Snedeker
ARGOS – Terry Snedeker, 39, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at 6:20 a.m. at his residence, 14741
Michigan Rd., Argos.
His death is under investigation by the Marshall County Coroner
Terry was born in Knox, the son of Walter Lee and Donna Ulrich Snedeker, on May 22, 1968.
He graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1988.
Susan Korp and Terry were married
in Knox, Ind.
Terry worked for Hoosier Tire and Rubber Company as a machine operator for 18 years.
He loved going to garage sales, working on his car and taking family vacations. He was an avid
fisherman, very artistic and enjoyed working in his yard.
He is survived by a son, Brennen Snedeker, Argos, and by his mother and stepfather, Donna
and Larry Lemert, Hamlet.
Two brothers, Walter Ray (Patricia) Snedeker and Keith ( Sher) Snedeker and a sister, Shelia
(Odis) Shepherd, all of Plymouth, also survive together with a step-brother, Rusty Hanselman,
Argos, and a step-sister, Nicole Lemert, Indianapolis.
George and Dorothy Ulrich, maternal grandparents, Grovertown, Ind., and Irene Salyers, a
paternal grandmother, Orange County, Fla., survive as well.
Terry was preceded in death by his wife, Susan, and his daughter, Shayla. His father, Walter II
and two grandfathers, Jim Salyers and Walter Lee Snedeker I, have also died.
Terry’s family invites friends to share their grief as well as good memories of him Saturday, Nov.
10, 2007, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St.,
Plymouth.
Funeral services will follow visitation at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. The Pastor John B. Lowe of
the New Life Christian Church, Warsaw will officiate.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Brennen Snedeker Memorial Fund.
Wilson Hancock
PLYMOUTH — Wilson Hancock, 83, of 716 North 4th Street, Plymouth, passed away, Tuesday,
Nov. 6, 2007, at his home.
Wilson was born July 7, 1924 in Boma, Tenn., to George and Celia Hancock. Virginia Minx and
Wilson were married
in 1947. She passed away on July 15, 2001.
Wilson was in the tree trimming business for 30 years and worked for the Marshall County
Highway Department for seven years. He had been a resident of Plymouth for the past 23 years
and lived in Argos before moving to Plymouth.
Wilson is survived by his children: John and Yvonne Hancock of Saint Augustine, Fla., Woody
and Fran Hancock of Warsaw, Betty Lou Marshall of Florida, Shirley and Herbert Carty of
Kentucky, Pat and Richard Brady of Kentucky, Priscilla Woods of Tennessee, Janice and Tom
Emerson of Tennessee, Earsel and Caroline Minix of Culver and Paul and Margaret Minix of
LaPorte; seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son,
Gilbert Hancock and by his brother, Johnny Hancock.
A time of visiting with the family, will be Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Van Gilder
Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Str., Plymouth, IN, 46563.
The funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at 10:30 a.m., at the Van Gilder Funeral
Home. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth.
Margaret Ellen "G.G." Widmar
BREMEN — Margaret Ellen “G.G.” Widmar, 96, of Bremen, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007 at 12:05 a.m.
at the Community Hospital of Bremen.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce (Douglass) Miller of Bremen; two grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Burial will
follow at the Bremen cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall County Community Foundation or the First
United Church of Christ in Bremen.
Theodore "Ted" Louis Johnson
CULVER — Theodore “Ted” Louis Johnson of Culver, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007.
Ted was born on April 11, 1937 in Donaldson to Samuel M. and Leota (Guise) Johnson.
Ted served his country in the Army for three years and spent many years as a truck driver,
primarily in the Midwest.
Ted is survived by his wife, Jan; six children, Kerry (Sandy) Johnson, Kris (Lisa) Johnson, Kathy
(Hal) Lewis, Kelli (Chris) Corrente, Kelly (Paula) Peterson, and Tracy (Galen) Reinholt; 15
grandchildren: Ryan (Nancy), Michael, Julie, Kassidy, Jamie, Cody, Niki, Christy, Logan, Brooke,
Jacob, Luke, Calvin, Cole, and Anastasia; two great-grandchildren: Riley and Kaiden; his
brothers and sisters: Robert Johnson, Anna Marie Powell, Sam Johnson, Dean Johnson, Jimmy
Johnson, and Sharon Hurford.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Herbie Johnson; and his sister, Rose
Geisler.
Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Van Gilder Funeral Home,
300 West Madison Street, Plymouth.
A memorial service will be held at noon at the Van Gilder Funeral Home. Burial will be in the
Swedish cemetery in Donaldson.
Memorials may be given to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 112 South Center St.,
Plymouth, IN, 46563.
Elizabeth Miller
BREMEN — Elizabeth Miller, 93, of Bremen, died at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7 at home.
She is survived by daughters: Rachel (Vern E.) Hershberger of Nappanee, Esther (Richard A.)
Hochstetler of Hill Center, Texas, Naomi (Marvin) Schwartz of Sparta, Texas, Mary (Lloyd)
Schwartz of Etna Green and Laura Miller of Crossville, Tenn.; sons: Eli H. (Edith) Miller of
Nappanee, Alvin H. (Edna Marie) Miller of Nicaragua, John Moses (Barbara) Miller of Costa Rica
and David H. (Linda Sue) Miller of Bremen; 75 grandchildren; 154 great-grandchildren; two greatgreat-grandchildren;
brothers: Omar (Sara) Lapp of Lancaster, Pa. and John Henry (Floy) Lapp
of Port Allegany, Pa.; and sister, Lena (Aaron) Glick of Lancaster, Pa.
Isitation is after 12 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 and all day Friday, Nov. 9 at the family residence.
Funeral services are Saturday, Nov. 10 at 9:30 a.m. at the Sam Kauffman residence, 1595 B
Rd., Bremen.
Burial will be in Weldy cemetery.

Callie Opal Williams
PLYMOUTH — Callie Opal Williams, 98, of 635 Oak Hill Ave., Plymouth, passed away,
Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at 1:15 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
On April 20, 1909, Callie Opal O’Dell was born to Franklin and Margaret (Phelps) O’Dell in Big
Cabin, Okla.
Callie and Walter R. Williams were married
on July 4, 1930. Walter passed away on Sept. 8,
1982.
Callie was a member of the Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist Church, Plymouth; past
member of the Rebekah Lodge, Richland Center; and had belonged to the Old LaPorte Club,
Plymouth. She worked as a cook for Parkview Hospital in Plymouth. She was a 1928 graduate
of Plymouth High School and lived in the Marshall County, Indiana, area almost all of her life.
Callie is survived by her children: Ruth and Herbert Wathen of Plymouth; Mary Lee Rudd of
Plymouth; Jean and Ronald Wintrode of Indianapolis, John and Dawn Williams of Mentone and
Diana and Tim Twiss of Fort Wayne; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and seven greatgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Walter Williams Jr.;
six brothers; three sisters; and her son-in-law, Dr. Ned Rudd.
A time of visiting and sharing memories of Callie with her family, will be Friday, Nov. 9, 2007,
from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison St., Plymouth, IN, 46563,
and also one hour prior to the funeral service, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., at the church.
The funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at 2:30 p.m. at the Pretty Lake Trinity United
Methodist Church, 8985 S.R. 17, Plymouth, with the Rev. Michael Dixon officiating. A private
family burial will be held in South Germany cemetery in Fulton County, Indiana.
Memorial donations may be made to the Pretty Lake Church or to the choice of the donor.
Betty Kathryn Day
PLYMOUTH — Betty Kathryn Day, 87, of 15216 Yorkshire Drive, Plymouth, passed away
Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth.
Betty was born Jan. 20, 1920 to Carl and Marjorie (Morrow) Hansen in Plymouth. She had been
a resident of Plymouth, all of her life.
On Aug. 11, 1938 in Culver, Betty became the bride of Richard M. Day. Dick and Betty had been
married
for 69 years.
Betty and Dick owned and operated Day’s Grocery, on Highway 30, for 35 years and also a store
in Tyner, for 17 years. Betty was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, Plymouth and a
graduated of Plymouth High School in the Class of 1938.
Betty is survived by her husband, Richard M. Day, Sr.; their daughter, Sharon (J.D.) Dorman of
Cape Coral, Fla.; their sons; Richard Day, Jr. (Martha) of Plymouth and James (Diane) Day of
Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Teresa (Joe) Lovell of South Bend, Melanie (Keith) Onash of
Cape Coral, Fa., Ronald (Lori) Day of Plymouth, Valerie (Shawn) McLochlin of Plymouth, Jon
(Angela) Day of Bourbon, Bryan (Greta) Day of South Bend and A.J. (Tammy) Day of
Bloomington; 10 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Elaine
Hansen of Plymouth and Clara Hansen of Culver. Betty was preceded in death by her parents,
two brothers, and a great-grandchild.
A time of visiting with Betty’s family, will be on Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at
the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563.
Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Van Gilder Funeral Home with
Pastor Paul D. Whitworth, of the Faith Baptist Church, officiating. A private family burial will be
held in New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth.
Edgar Marion DeWitt
LAFAYETTE — Edgar Marion DeWitt, 77, of Lafayette, died in his residence Friday, November 9, 2007
after battling lung cancer since 2006.
He was a resident of the area since 1959.
Edgar was born in Royal Center on Dec. 26, 1929 to the late Leo Virgil and Laura Fern
Schlegelmilch DeWitt.
He graduated from Richland Center High School in 1948. He married
Imogene Ruth Hartle on
April 24, 1949 and she preceded him on Dec. 24, 2002.
Edgar worked construction through the Labors Union Local 274 and retired after 51 years in
1990. He also retired as a full-time security guard from Jefferson High School at the same time.
He previously worked the assembly line building Studebakers for six years. He enjoyed
collecting old cars and still owned a 29’ Chevrolet that he enjoyed working on.
Surviving are three sons Charles “Chuck” V. (wife Aleshcha) DeWitt of Plymouth, Lawrence
“Larry” E. (wife Cheita) DeWitt and David “Dave” B. DeWitt (companion Lori Louks) and a
daughter Jeanie German (companion Roy Moore) all of Lafayette; two sisters Juanita Chapman
of Royal Center, Anita Cooper of Phoenix Ariz., a brother Daniel “Dan” (wife Mary Lou) DeWitt
of Rochester.
Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a
brother, Delbert DeWitt and a sister, Bonita DeWitt.
Friends my call two hours prior to the 2 p.m. service Tuesday at Hippensteel Funeral Home with
Pastor Doug Jividen of Plymouth Baptist Church officiating and interment to follow at Tippecanoe
Memory Gardens.
