Louise Boulas
ARGOS — Louise Boulas, 66, of 12031 19B Rd., Argos, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007
at 2:58 p.m. in LaPaz.
Louise was born on Dec. 28, 1940 in Perry County, Ky. To Ewen and Alberta (Roberts) Vires.
Louise married
George B. “Tony” Boulas on July 16, 1965. Together they raised their five
children. George passed away June 8, 2006.
Louise is survived by her daughters: Kathy and Armondo Castillo of South Bend, Penny and
Larry Stacy of Argos and Reva and Dennis Peltz of Argos; her sons: Enoch and Shelia Wagers
of Jackson, Ky. And Anthony and Tracy Boulas of Argos; 13 grandchildren: Karen, Sarah, Ricky,
Daniel, Stephanie, Mondito, Amanda, Dustin, Ashley, Johnny, Shana, Jordan and Cameron; nine
great-grandchildren; her brother, Douglas Miller of Argos; her sisters: Shirley and Ewen Vires of
Argos, Reva and Justine Campbell of Hazen, Ky., Jackie and Harry Johnson of Argos, Judy and
Richard Warren of Argos, Kathleen and Larry Horn of Plymouth and Betty and Olan Howard of
Plymouth.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at 11:30 a.m. at Van Gilder Funeral Home,
with the Rev. Lloyd Howard officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery in Argos.
A time of visiting and sharing memories of Louise, with her family, will be Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007
from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison St., Plymouth, Indiana,
46563.
Sharon L. Cool
INDIANAPOLIS — Sharon L. Cool, 68, of Indianapolis, died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007 in
the Indiana Heart Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; a daughter; Terri Gren of St. George, Utah; three sons:
Steven Cool of Indianapolis, Stanley Cool of North Vernon and James Cool of Carmel; 14
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother; step mother; and two step brothers.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 in the Fair cemetery, located on
Oak Road just north of Stanton Road in St. Joseph County near her former home of North
Liberty.
Memorials to the Salvation Army or charity of the donor’s choice.
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth, is assisting with the arrangements.
Justine Fletcher
GROVERTOWN — Justine Fletcher, 63, of Grovertown, died Saturday, Aug. 11 at St. Mary’s
Hospital, Hobart.
She is survived by her husband, Glen; daughter, Lora (Ernie) Brewer of Knox; son, Omas
Fletcher of Grovertown; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carry Jellison of
Van Wert, Ohio.
There will be no visitation or services.
Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
Dennis H. Hirschy
BLUFFTON — Dennis H. Hirschy, 85, of Bluffton, died at 6:48 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11 at
Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
He is survived by sons: Bruce (Jeni) Hirschy of Plymouth and Sam (Liane) Hirschy of Bluffton;
one sister, Anna Louise Beer of Bluffton; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Elm Grove cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the River Terrace Estates.
Mary O. Rodgers
BREMEN — Mary O. Rodgers, 90, of Bremen, died at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 at home.
She is survived by one daughter, Alice L. Shepherd of Bremen; two sons: James L. Rodgers of
Bremen and David L. Rodgers of Terre Haute; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and
one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is two hours prior to services at the church Tuesday, Aug. 14.
Services are Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 605 S. Center St.,
Bremen.
Burial will be at Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth, at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Marshall County or St. Paul’s Lutheran School.

David M. Burns
KNOX — David M. Burns, 72, of Knox, died Sunday, Aug. 12 at Starke Memorial Hospital, Knox.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Burns of Knox; sons: David M. (LuAnn) Burns of Wanatah,
Gregory A. (Debrah) Burns of Knox, Keith B. (Charlotte) Burns of Kewanna and William D. Burns
of Knox; brothers: Douglas K. Burns of Plymouth and Rick Burns of Tennessee; sisters: Betty
(Edward) Rosebaum of Hanna, Nancy (Joe) Jimenez of Valparaiso and Helen Norman of Akron;
eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver.
Funeral services are Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Culver Masonic cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Culver Union Township Fire Department or the Freewill
Baptist Church of North Judson.
Ray E., Rev. Mills
Rev. Ray E. Mills, 83, Wesley Manor Retirement Community, Frankfort, died Sunday,
August 12, 2007 at home.
Born in Gillett Grove, Iowa, he was the son of Ross and Pearl Bargloff Mills.
On Sept. 17, 1949, he married
Ruth Elizabeth Missal. She died March 11, 1995. He married
Opal Lathrop on May 24, 1997, and she survives in Frankfort.
He was a United Methodist pastor from 1951 to 1986, when he retired as minister of visitation in
Michigan City. Rev. Mills served the following United Methodist churches: North Liberty, 1954-
1959; Grace in Rochester, 1959-1964; Gary City, 1964-1967; St. Matthew in Frankfort, 1967-
1973; Warsaw First, 1973-1982; Muncie Gethsemane, 1982-1984; and Merrillville, 1984-1986.
He was a member of the North Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church, a former
Kiwanis member, and a member of the Singing Saints. As a Master Gardener, he left prayer
gardens for all to enjoy. He enjoyed stamps, traveling and reading. He passionately loved his
family and always lived to serve others.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Mark (Maxine) Mills of Logansport, and
Beckie E. M. Clawson of Elkhart, two stepdaughters, Doris Winans of Fort Wayne and Dorothy
(Russell) May of Lans Downe, Va.; a sister, Fay (George) Lanz of Spencer, Iowa; two brothers,
Charles (Thelma) Mills of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, and Kay (Thelma) Mills of Raymore, Mo.; and
numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Wesley Manor, Amanda Reid Chapel, with
Pastor Lore Blinn Gibson officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery, Michigan City, at
2:30 p.m. Central time. Calling will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Genda Funeral
Home, 608 N. Main St., Frankfort, and one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Memorials
may be made to Good Samaritan Fund of Wesley Manor, Frankfort, or the United Methodist
Children's Home of Lebanon.
Verna Payne
INDIANAPOLIS — Verna Payne, 90, of Indianapolis, formerly of Bremen, died at 3:50 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007 at Community Hospital South, Greenwood.
She is survived by daughters: Carol (John) Winkler of Indianapolis and Jean (Phillip) Napier of
Thomasville, Ga.; son, William Payne of Thomasville, Ga.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Wednesday, Aug. 15 fro 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen.
Funeral services are Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Bremen cemetery.

Lee R. Johnson
PLYMOUTH — Lee R. Johnston, 91, of 625 Oakhill Ave., Plymouth, passed away on Monday,
Aug. 13, 2007 at 9 a.m. in Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth.
Lee was born Sept. 16, 1915 in Durant, Iowa, to Ralph and Ruth (Lee) Johnston. On May 24,
1941 Lee and Mary Scott were married
. She preceded him in death in 1990. Lee was a
mechanical engineer and retired from Walkerton Tool and Dye. He worked in sales and as a
shop manager. Lee and Mary moved to Plymouth, from South Bend, in 1984.
Lee is survived by his daughters, Linda and Pat Glon of West Lafayette and Janis Johnston of
Champaign, Ill.; two grandchildren; and his sister, Mary Murry of Oskaloosa, Iowa. Lee was
preceded in death by his wife, Mary, and his brother, Paul Johnston.
Funeral services for Lee will be held Friday, Aug. 17, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the VAN GILDER
FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Dr. E. Dean Fager officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill
cemetery, Plymouth.
A time of visiting with Lee's family will be on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the
VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, 300 West Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563.
The Johnston family requests that memorial contributions in Lee's name, be given to the

Sister Verona Reeb
DONALDSON — Sr. Verona Reeb, PHJC, 91, of Donaldson, died Monday, Aug. 13 at the
Catherine Kasper Life Center, Donaldson.
She is survived by a brother, Clarence (Elsie) Reeb of Belleville, Ill.
Visitation is Thursday, Aug. 16 from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at the Catherine Kasper Home Chapel.
Funeral services are Friday, Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. at the chapel.
Burial will be at Mount Carmel cemetery, Donaldson.
Memorials may be made to the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ Ministry.
Dora B. Holland
PLYMOUTH — Dora B. Holland, 89, a lifetime Marshall County resident, formerly living on
Randolph Drive, died of natural causes, on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at 2:30 p.m. in the Pilgrim
Manor Care Center.
Dora was born the daughter of Lyman and Myrtle Mullins Gordon on May 3, 1918 in Hoopston, Ill
She graduated from LaPaz High School.
On Feb. 18, 1941, in Plymouth, Dora and Morris C. Holland were married
. Morris died on Aug.
21, 1987.
A homemaker, Dora loved cooking and especially baking. She was a gardener for many years
and enjoyed making beautiful dried floral arrangements.
Dora served as a volunteer for the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary.
A member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, she was active with the Mary and Martha Club
She is survived by a daughter and two sons. They are daughter, Sharon L. Dickey: David M. and
Cindy Holland and Kevin R. and Susan Holland, all of Plymouth.
Four grandchildren also survive: Ashley Holland, Jeff (Shelli) Dickey: Dawn (Kent) Thomas and
Misty (Broc) Buczolich.
Six great-grandgrandchildren survive as well. They are: Kylie, Kassie, Karlie, Jamie, Jenna and
Zachary.
Three sisters and two brothers preceded Dora in death. They are: infant Joan Gordon, Betty
Howard, Edith Kepler, Walter and Donald Gordon.
Family services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007 in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral
Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. Plymouth, officiated by Michael Burroughs. Friends may call one
hour prior to services.
Interment will be in Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Dora’s memory may be made to the Marshall County Hospice and Palliative
Care, the Trinity United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
