Dorothy Jane Delimater, 88, of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 9/10/2010 at 11:20pm at Mason Heathcare Center, Warsaw, Indiana. She was born on June 12, 1922 in Hymera, Indiana.

Dorothy wasa born to Arvil and Flora (Schwindy) Underwood. She married Harold Delimater on July 19, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1986.
Dorothy was a housewife and an office worker for Ford Motor Company. She was also a member of Bellville Moose Lodge, Bellville, Michigan.
Dorothy is survived by her Daughter; Marilyn Cantor, Pierceton
Son; Peter Delimater, Ypsilanti, Michigan
Grandchildren; Sandra (and spouse Barry) Smith
Charles (and spouse Bonnie) McCreary
Christina (and spouse Robert) Lewis
Great Grandchildren; Robbie Lewis,Kate Smith and Allison Smith
Sister; Rose Taylor, Princeton, New Jersey
She was also preceded in death by her Parents, Sister, Anita Mae Main and a Brother, Ralph Underwood

Funeral service will be privately held and not open to the public. Burial will be private.

Thurman Blackburn

Armed Forces Veteran - Air Force
Thurman Blackburn, 72, of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 9/17/2010 at 3:27 AM at his residence. He was born on July 23, 1938 in Pike County, Kentucky.

He was born to Thelmar and Lana (Jarvis) Blackburn.

Thurman served in the U.S. Air Force, Airman Second Class, Vietnam War
He has been a Kosciusko County resident since 1960.
He was married in Clintwood, VA Nov. 5, 1960 to Josephine Hughes (she preceded May 22, 2009)
He retired as a Tool & Die Maker for Zimmer, Inc. Warsaw, IN after 18 years.
He was a member of the Pentecostal Lighthouse Church in Warsaw.

Thurman is survived by
2 Daughters: Thelma Sue(and spouse Kevin) Kersey of Silver Lake, IN
Vicki Lynn (and spouse Robert) Johnson of Leesburg, IN
Son: Ricky Dean (and spouse Zona) Blackburn of Silver Lake, IN
2 Sisters: Alma Reynolds of Coal Grove, OH
Lucille Burchett of Prestonsburg, KY
Brother: Thurston Blackburn of Milford, IN
9 Grandchildren: Jacqueline, Jessica, Trey, Tyler, Kirk, Damion, Amber, Ashley and Abigail
Reverend Glen Hughes will officiate the services

Services will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel - Warsaw on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Calling hours will be 1-5 PM on Sunday, September 19, 2010. Burial will be at Oakwood cemetery - Warsaw with Military Honors by Warsaw American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1126.

Florine Wright

Florine Wright, 92, of 337 Grace Village Dr., Winona Lake, IN, died on 9/19/2010 at 3:20 PM at Grace Village Retirement Community. She was born on February 25, 1918 in Clay County, Indiana.

Her mother was Maude (Miller) Hochstetler.
Growing up in Clay County until 1962 moving to Warsaw to be with her husband. She married L. Bruce Wright on November 25, 1939 in Clay City, IN (he preceded April 13, 2010)
Florine was a devoted wife and mother.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Warsaw.
She graduated from Clay City High School
Florine is survived by her
Daughters: Sue Walters of Birmingham, MI
Ann (and spouse Greg) Steele of Naperville, IL
Son: David Wright of Boston. MA
7 grandchildren
16 great grandchildren
Brother: Richard (and spouse Dorothy) Hochstetler of Mansfield, OH
Sister: Joan (Dr. Glen) Ley of Bloomington, IN

Services will be at a later date

Burial will be at Oakwood cemetery - Warsaw, IN.

Leonard Estep

Leonard Estep, 90, of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 9/19/2010 at 3:30 pm at Mason Heathcare Center, Warsaw, Indiana. He was born on March 27, 1920 in Leesburg, Indiana.

Leonard was born to Curtis and Flossie (Scoels) Estep. He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana graduationg from Pierceton High School in 1938. He also attended Purdue University.
He married Ruby "Eileen" (Kelley) Lichtenwalter on April 27, 1979 in Warsaw.
Leonard worked for Nickel Plate Railroad from 1950 - 1962 and then was a self employed excavating contractor for 30 years.
He loved snowmobiling, antique tractors and was an outside general tinkerer. Leonard was a member of Echoes of the Past Antique Tractor Organization and Two Cylinder Club.
Leonard is survived by his Wife; Ruby "Eileen" Estep, Warsaw
Son; Mickey Estep, Warsaw
Brother; Russell Clarence Estep, San Jose, California
3 Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 2 Sisters.

Services will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 11:00 am with Pastor Andy Martin officiating.. Calling hours will be 9:00 - 11:00 am at the church on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 . Burial will be at Etna Green cemetery, Etna Green, Indiana.

Lester "Bud" E. Menzie

Lester "Bud" E. Menzie, 79, of Pierceton, Indiana, died on 9/19/2010 at 8:40 pm at Parkview Hospital of Ft. Wayne. He was born on July 11, 1931 in Columbia City, Indiana.

Lester "Bud" E. Menzie was born to John and Edith (Whiteleather) Menzie. He lived in Pierceton, Indiana since 1976. He was formerly of Larwill, Indiana. On May 15, 1959, Bud married Alice Eman in Olympia, Washington. He worked for Kolbin Tool & Die as a machine operator and retired in 2002. Bud was a member of The American Legion Post 256. He is survived by his wife, Alice Menzie of Pierceton, Indiana; 2 sons: Brian (Valerie) Menzie of Columbia City, Indiana and Jeffery (Mardelle) Menzie of Warsaw, Indiana. He is also survived by 2 sisters: Marilynne Ramp of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and Joyce (Keith) Clelane of Pierceton, Indiana. He had 6 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by 1 sister. Bud was a Korean War Veteran - U.S. Army - Sgt.

Funeral service will be privately held and not open to the public. Burial will be at Larwill cemetery - Larwill, Indiana.

Carroll Sherman

Carroll Sherman, 91, of of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 9/21/2010 at 9:13 PM at Miller's Merry Manor - Warsaw. He was born on August 30, 1919 in Otwell, Indiana.

He was born to Edward and Montie (Whaley) Sherman.
A lifetime resident of Warsaw.
He married Ruth Henke on August 31, 1944 in Indianapolis. (she preceded him February 18, 1999).
He got a basketball scholarship to Oakland City University.received a degree in Health and Science also attended Butler, Purdue and University of Chicago, Michigan & IU.

He taught High School physical education and science. He worked for Indianapolis Oil Company as a Rep., South Bend Health Dept., City of South Bend then retiring after 30 yrs from Kosciusko Health Dept., retiring in 1993

He was a basketball coach and played pro ball for one year. He was one of the first Sanitarians in the State of Indiana that was certified.A lifetime member of the Moose Lodge (Governor Local Moose) Legion of Moose, Life Fellowship with Moose, member since 1947, Indiana Public Health Association and Member of the Indiana Public Health Employees.
Survivors are
Daughter: Carole (and spouse bob) Tucker of Warsaw, IN
1 sister: Helen Kuhn of Okieville, IN
2 nieces
7 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild

Preceded in death by his wife, one sister and one brother.

Chaplain Bob Jarbo will conduct the service

Funeral service will be privately held and not open to the public. Burial will be at Oakwood cemetery - Warsaw, IN.

Ray Eugene Earle

Armed Forces Veteran - Navy
Ray Eugene Earle, 86, of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 9/24/2010 at 4:30 pm at Roudabush VA Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on December 9, 1923 in Middlesboro, Kentucky.

Ray was the son of Howard and Pearl (Manning) Earl.
He grew up in the Tazwell,Tennessee area and lived in the Greenville, Tennessee area as a young adult.
Ray was in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving on two different LST's (Landing Ship Tanks or Transports). His ship was in the Japanese harbor at the same time the treaty between the United States and Japan was being signed aboard the Missouri.
He worked as an electrician after leaving the Navy, spending most of his working life at R.R. Donnelley and Sons, retiring in 1990 after 31 years.
He was a lifelong musician who enjoyed playing in many Country/Bluegrass bands, writing music and operating a small recording studio and publishing company out of his home. He was the manager and publisher for a group of Bluegrass musicians named "The Barrier Brothers" along with many other local artists. He recorded the demo tape that Crystal Gayle sent to the recording studio in Nashville before she became famous.
On October 20, 1946, he married Frances Anderson of Louisville, Kentucky. She preceded him in death on March 29, 2009.
Surviving are three daughters: Gloria (Ron) Wigent of Michigan City
Donna (Bert) Goble of Winona Lake
Linda Lent of Atwood
One son: Wes Earle of Spartanburg, South Carolina
sisters: Annabelle (Maynard) Lambert, Mary Lou (Ed) Schroff,, Barbara (Don) Drudge, Frances (Jim) Cormican, Lucille Sorensen and two brothers, Frank (Karna) Earl and Lee (Mela) Earle. One sister-in-law, Carolyn (Robert) Bolton of Louisville, Kentucky.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Edith (Elmer) Johnson, Thelma (Lloyd) Smelser, Myrtle (Gerald) Ream, a brother Elbert Earl and 5 infant brothers.

Services will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Indiana on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 10:00 am with Pastor David Cripe officiating.. Calling hours will be 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral chapel on Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Burial will be at Palestine cemetery, Palestine, Indiana with military honors..

Josephine Edith Clingenpeel

Josephine Edith Clingenpeel, 100, of Warsaw, IN, died on 10/1/2010 at 3:42 AM at Miller's Merry Manor - Warsaw, IN. She was born on November 30, 1909 in Alexandria, IN.

Josephine was born to Joseph and Edith (Noel) Jones. She was a lifetime resident of Warsaw, IN. On November 4, 1933 in Warsaw, IN she was united in marriage to Harold "Jerry" Clingenpeel.

Josephine in was employed in Dietary Services at Miller's Merry Manor Warsaw, IN for seventeen years.
Her memberships include Trinity United Methodist Church of Warsaw, the Order of the Eastern Star of Warsaw, and she is a Past-President of the Eagle's Auxiliary of Warsaw.

Josephine is survived by her sons Stephen Clingenpeel and
Joe (and spouse Carolyn ) Clingenpeel both of Warsaw, IN.

In addition, she is survived by 10 grandchildren, 17
great grandchildren and 8
great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents, husband, 1 brother, 1 sister and 2 grandchildren and 1 daughter Sue Rockwell.
Pastor Susan Martin will officiate

Services will be held at Oakwood cemetery, Warsaw, IN on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 10:00 am. Calling hours will be 1-5 pm on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the funeral chapel. Burial will be at Oakwood cemetery - Warsaw, IN.
