Margaret "Peg" Knoop
Margaret "Peg" Knoop, 85, of Winona Lake, Indiana and formerly of Bedford, Indiana., died on 5/22/2010 at 2:45 am at Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake, Indi. She was born on December 2, 1924 in Springville, Indiana.
She was born to Aldyce and Blanche (Moore) Jackson, the tenth of ten children. She was adopted and raised by her aunt and uncle, Gilbert and Nettie (Jackson) Kern.
On March 3, 1946, in Long Beach, California, she married
Lowell W. Knoop, who survives.
Peg graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1942 and did secretarial work at Purdue University. During WW II she worked for ALCOA Aluminum Company in Lafayette, IN, later becoming a homemaker. Peg and Lowell were active in Lay Witness Missions for twelve years and were most recently members of the Warsaw Church of God.
Peg and her husband Lowell lived in Warsaw from 1953 to 1963, then resided in Lafayette and Bedford, before returning to Grace Village in Winona Lake five years ago.
Also surviving are two sons, Gilbert (and Janis Pritchard) Knoop, Claypool; and Richard (and Denise Cline) Knoop, Florissant, MO; two grandsons, Samuel (and Rachael Leiter) Knoop and Benjamin (and Lauren Ratz) Knoop; one granddaughter, Aimee Knoop (and Jason) Crowe; five great grandchildren, Jacob, Delaney and Amelia Knoop and Gabrielle and Gracey Crowe; and one brother, Robert Jackson of Houston Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, three brothers, and one step-sister.
Services will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Indiana on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 10:30 am. Calling hours will be Monday, May 24, 2010 on 6:00 - 8:00 pm and 1 hour before the service . Burial will be at Graceland cemetery, Claypool, Indiana.

Bernice Rater, 77, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, died on 5/23/2010 at 9:04 AM at Parkview Memorial Hospital of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She was born on February 3, 1933 in Toto, Indiana.
Bernice was born to Harry and Ethel May (Carpenter) Fisher.
She was a lifetime resident of Milford and Warsaw. She married
Robert A. Rater on February 5, 1955.
She retired from Maple Leaf Farms Inc.
Bernice is survived by her 3 daughters

Amanda Nine of Rochester, Indiana.

Cindy Pamela Cripe
Cindy Pamela Cripe, 62, of Carmel, Indiana, died on 5/24/2010 at 2:45 am at her residence. She was born on November 25, 1947 in Rochester, Indiana.
After a courageous nearly two year battle with cancer. Cindy passed away peacefully at her home in Carmel. Cindy was born in Rochester, Indiana and raised in Warsaw, Indiana and graduated from Warsaw Community High School. She received a BA degree from Indiana University and held multiple management positions in both the medical device and telecommunication industries.
She was one of four children born to the late Paul and Ruby Conkle and was the beloved wife of Phil Cripe for 28 years. Cindy will forever be remembered by her devoted sisters Lynn Ann Keane and Paula Lamphier, beloved children Tamara Drake, Tyson Johnston, Shelly Magnus and Scott Cripe, treasured grandchildren Andrew and Evan Drake, Natalie, Elise and Audrey Magnus, Caleb and Caitlin Cripe, caring mother-in-law Gladys Cripe, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her.
Cindy touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity and maintained her trademark of compassion toward others all the way to the end.
Services will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Indiana on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 1:00 pm. Calling hours will be 11:00 - 1:00 pm at the funeral chapel on Saturday, June 5, 2010. Burial will be at a later date.

Elburn Dean "Gay " Robinson, 89, of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 5/24/2010 at 6:03 am at Grace Village Retirement Community Winona Lake, In. He was born on October 15, 1920 in Jay County, IN..
Gay was born to Emery Harrison and Bertha Lawson Robinson. On August 22, 1943 at Wabash Friends Church in Wabash, IN, he was united in marriage to Martha Esther Dubois, who surives.
He lived in Jay County for 12 years, Wabash County for 21 years and Kosciusko County for 55 years. He was Founder and CEO of Robinson Construction Inc. of Warsaw, IN and was a founding partner in Holiday Inns in Wabash and Warsaw; Warsaw Airport Industrial Park and Medcast, Inc..
He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps on October 22, 1942, and was assigned to the 74th Fighter Squadron, 23rd Fighter Group. He was sent to India by ship and flown over "The Hump" to China. He was stationed at various Flying Tigers bases as photo technician and spent approximately one year in China. He was honorably discharged January 17, 1946, with the rank of Staff Sergeant. This group was known as Flying Tigers, well publicized for aiding in the defeat of the Japanese in their attempt to conquer China.
In addition, he was a member of the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce and the men's league at Gilliam Bowling Lanes, Warsaw.
Gay is also survived by a loving family including five children: Dan J. (and wife Cheryl Ann) Robinson of Warsaw; Marta Gay Hopkins(and companion Larry Coplen) of Syracuse; Douglas K. (and wife Mary) Robinson of Warsaw; Gregg R. (and wife Lisa) Robinson of Warsaw; and Dennis A. (and wife Sarah) Robinson of Warsaw, In addition, Gay is survived by special former son-in-law Dan (and wife Marlene) Hoffer of Warsaw.
10 grandchildren Jackie (Husband Ron) Bradley, Brent (Wife Julie) Robinson, Lori Robinson(Companion Heath Gaerie), Kim (Husband Travis) Bouldin, Branden (Wife Courtney) Robinson, Julie Robinson, Hilary Robinson, Steve Robinson, Leslie Robinson, Ben Robinson 3 step-grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marjorie Featheringill, Tupelo, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Brothers Lee and Sherwood Robinson, Wabash, Indiana, and Sisters Berneal Collins, Wabash and Grace Summers,Wabash, Norine Eppley, North manchester, and Mary Radabaugh Metzger, Wabash.
Jeff Carroll of Grace Village Retirement Comunity, Winona Lake, IN. will officiate the services.
Military Honors will be rendered at Oakwood cemetery by the Warsaw American Legion Post #49 and the Warsaw Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1126 in honor and remembrance of Gay's faithfull service to God and Country during World War II.

Mary Louise "Sue" Rupert, 67, of Pierceton, Indiana, died on 5/26/2010 at 5:10 pm at Kosciusko Community Hospital Warsaw, Indiana. She was born on December 15, 1942 in Wabash County, Indiana.
Sue was born to Frederick J. Rupert and Helen Louise (Hutchison) Shumaker. She was a longtime Pierceton, Indiana resident. She is a retired Truck Driver formerly employed by Sunflower Trucking and North American Van Lines. Sue was baptized t the Touch of Life Church in Warsaw, Indiana.
Survivors include her mother Helen Shumaker of Pierceton, IN; her children including

Darryll was born to Arthur L. Hunter and Maude (Sickafus) Shumar. He married
Alice Lambert on May 9, 1975 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
During his lifetime he worked as a teacher and he also worked at Conrail and Kralis, then he retired from Utilimaster in Wakarusa, Indiana in 2008.
He graduated from Grace College. He served in the United States Air Force from 1954 - 1958.

Alex was born to Pablo and Manuela (Aleman) DeLaCruz. He was a lifetime resident of the Warsaw area.

Betty Ann Shepherd on November 15, 1975 in Pierceton, Indiana. He worked for Zimmer Inc. for 35 years and was a member of the American Legion Post #258, Pierceton, Indiana. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Pierceton.

Audrey L. Decker, 84, of Montoursville, Pennsylvania, died on 6/1/2010 at her residence.. She was born on January 13, 1926 in Warsaw, Indiana.
Audrey was the daughter of Rex E. and Jennie M. (Huffer) Smith. Her husband of 35 years, Ralph Decker, preceded her in death on June 2, 1979. She worked for Playtime Products, Warsaw for several years.
Audrey was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, traveling, camping and above all, spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly A. (Ray) Warner of Montoursville, Pennsylvania; a brother, James R. (Mary Lou) Smith of Warsaw, Indiana; four grandchildren, Angie (Mike) Sees, Jennifer (Dennis) Hauke, Rick (Sarah) Warner and Rebecca Warner; eight great-grandchildren, Charissa (Andy) Walters, Elizabeth Robinson, Kyle Sees, Carly Sees, Nate Robinson, Gabby Robinson, Mark Warner and Jon Warner; one great-great granddaughter, Audrey Rose Walters and dear friends, Merlyn Helton and Rachel Turner both of Warsaw.
In addition to her parents and husband, Audrey was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tamara Lynn Warner and two sisters, Frances Blackford and Marybelle Funnell.
