Thomas I. Welch Sr., 82, of Leesburg, Indiana, died on 5/7/2010 at 11:59 pm at his residence. He was born on September 28, 1927 in Marion, Indiana.
Thomas was born to George and Hazel (Ice) Welch. He moved to Kosciusko County from Marion in 1960.
He married
Joann Dilts on December 8, 1951 in Marion, Indiana. He worked as a salesman in the building products industry, working for Hoosier Home Improvement, Elwood, Indiana. Once he moved to Kosciusko County, he started his own business, Midwest Enterprise, retiring in 1988.
Thomas was a member of Oswego Baptist Church, Oswego, Moose Lodge, Warsaw, Eagle Lodge, Warsaw and American Legion Post #49, Warsaw.
He also served in the U.S. Army, 959 Engineers.
Thomas is survived by his Wife; Joann Welch, Leesburg, Indiana
Daughter; Deborah Ann (and spouse Mike) Welch Conkle, Indianapolis, Indiana
3 Grandsons and
1 Granddaughter
he is preceded in death by a Daughter; Barbara Welch and a Son, Thomas Welch Jr.
Burial will be at a later date.

H. Paul Lauster

H. Paul Lauster, 88, of Winona Lake, Indiana, died on 5/9/2010 at 9:09 AM at Kosciusko Community Hospital. He was born on October 6, 1921 in Rural Valley, Pennsylvania.
He was born on October 6, 1921 in Rural Valley, Pennsylvania to William P. and Dora (Roney) Lauster. On February 22, 1950 he married
Mary E. Cox in Kittanning, Pennsylvania.
He was manager of Lauster Milling Company, a third generation family owned business founded in 1904 for 9 years, prior to moving to Winona Lake. He retired from the Times-Union in 1999 after 50 years. He also was employed at Clausing, Inc. for 15 years.
In Pennsylvania, Mr. Lauster was a former city councilman and chairman of the American Red Cross. He was the elected finance chairman for the National Christian Radio Broadcast (Friends of McIntire) for 22 years.
He served in World War II from 1944 – 1946 in the 6th division of the United States Air Force. He earned the rank of Sergeant and was an armor gunner on a B-17 bomber and later on a B-24 bomber. He was stationed on a U.S. Air Base in the Galapagos Islands; a province of Ecuador in the eastern Pacific Ocean.
He was a graduate of Rural Valley High School, P.A. in 1940 and graduated a salutatorian of his graduating class at Grace College in Winona Lake in 1955. He also graduated from Grace Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity Degree in 1960.
He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Kittanning where he served as trustee, financial chairman, elder and Sunday school superintendent. He was an original charter founding member of The Bible Presbyterian Church where he was a member and elder. In later years, he attended the Winona Lake Free Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William Lauster, and half sister Isabel Beyer. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lauster, Winona Lake; two daughters, Leana Allison, and Eileen Smith, Warsaw; six sons, David Lauster, Wesley Lauster, and Chris Lauster all of Warsaw; John Lauster, Leawood, Kansas; Carl Lauster, Winona Lake, and Martin Lauster, Warsaw. He is survived by 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Louise Evick, Youngstown, Ohio; a brother-n-law Craig Cox (wife Edythe), Kittanning, Pennsylvania; six nephews: William Evick and Richard Evick, Austin Town, Ohio; Neal Beyer of Clearwater, Florida; Jim Cox, The Colony, Texas; Roger Cox, Bethel Park, Pennsylvania; Keith Cox, Newburgh, Indiana; and a niece, Jane Skerl, Allison Park, Pennsylvania.
Private services are planned at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw with the Reverend Glenn Byers officiating.

Lynn E. "Doc" Wampler

Lynn E. "Doc" Wampler, 64, of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 5/9/2010 at 1:07 am at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on November 8, 1945 in Dodge City, Kansas.
Lynn was the Son of Ernest L. and Faith J. (Wall) Wampler Jr. He lived most of his adult life in Kosciusko County.
He married
Barbara L. Leedy on September 25, 1965 in Disco, Indiana.
He served in the U.S. Army, 1st Infantry Division as an MP in Vietnam from 1965-1967.
Lynn was appointed to the Indiana State Police on January 28, 1973, retiring from duty on March 1, 2004 as a Master Trooper.
He graduated from North Manchester High School and also from ITT Technical Institute with an Associate Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology in 1972.

Isabella Renae Shields-Skees, 23 days, of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 5/10/2010 at 8:37 am at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on April 17, 2010 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Isabella was born to Megan Skees and Austin Shields of Warsaw, Indiana, who survive.
In addition, Isabella is survived by maternal grandparents Troy and Karey Ann Skees of Warsaw, Indiana and Tony and Tammy Frazier of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; paternal grandparents Dennis and Lori Chavez of Huntington, Indiana; maternal great-grandparents Hampton L. and Dianne Parris of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Betty Skees of Warsaw, Indiana and Shirley and Gene Crocker of Spartanburg, South Carolina and paternal great-grandparents tom and Jeanne Sands of Warsaw, Indiana. Furthermore, survivors include numerous aunts and uncles. Isabella was preceded by her paternal grandfather Danny Joe Shields.
Services will be held at Garden of the Angels, Oakwood cemetery on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at Oakwood cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana.

Leo D. Kerber

Leo D. Kerber, 89, of Leesburg, Indiana, died on 5/14/2010 at 9:05 am at his residence. He was born on August 17, 1920 in Anchor, Illinois.
Leo D. Kerber was a longtime resident of Tippecanoe Lake, Leesburg, Indiana. He was born to Grover and Gertrude Kerber. He was married
to his wife, Lynn, for the past 28 years. She survives.
Living the last 50 years in Kosciusko County, he was a graduate of Illinois State University and did graduate work at the University of Illinois. He taught high school in McHenry, Illinois, for several years. He then was the area manager for Surger Dairy Equipment in Ohio for three years and then a sales manager for a large LP gas company for 10 years. He moved to Kosciusko County and became the sales manager for Tri-State Harvestore for 20 years. He retired after being a real estate broker for 20 years.
He was a veteran of World War II and served overseas in combat for 26 months. As a staff sergeant, he served in combat in Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Holland and Norway. He was wounded in action at Gresse, France, in 1944. He received the Purple Heart, Expert Rifleman, Combat in Infantry Badge, Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater and Victory Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with Silver Satar and Bronze Arrowheads. He originally served with the American Rangers and later with the American-Canadian Mountain and Paratroop Special Forces.
He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 253 in North Webster and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also was a member of the Elks and St. Anne's Episcopal Church. For many years, he was a landing director of Tippecanoe Lake Property Owner's Association and a member of Tippecanoe Lake Country Club.
Also surviving are a son, Leo D. Kerber Jr. Warsaw; a brother, Paul (spouse Jean) Kerber, Colfax, IL; a stepson, Dee (spouse Trace) Hinesley, Huntington: two granddaughters, Christine Milleken and Kathleen McCoy, Indianapolis; stepgrandchildren: Nickolas, Anndee, Aidan and Alec; and great-grandchildren: Rylie, Olivia, Sophia and Nate. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Maher, Kokomo; a stepdaughter, Therrian Lynn Freeman, Danville; and a brother, Robert Kerber, Colfax, IL.
Father Daniel Martin and Father Brian Grantz will officiate the services.
Military honors will be rendered by the North Webster American Legion Post #253 in remembrance of Leo's faithfull service to God and Country.
Services will be held at St. Anne's Episcopal Church Warsaw, Indiana on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at noon. Calling hours will be 10:00 a.m. - noon at the church. on Tuesday May 18, 2010. Burial will be at Oswego cemetery - (Oswego) Leesburg, Indiana.

Tony Zartman
Tony Zartman, 49, of Leesburg, Indiana, died on 5/16/2010 at 11:11 am at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on November 2, 1960 in Warsaw, Indiana.
Tony was born to M. Gene and Sandra D. (Smith) Zartman. He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana.
Tony was united in marriage to Rose Drudge on August 24, 1991 in Atwood, Indiana. He was a Truck Driver for Deatsman Grain Farms of Leesburg, Indiana and a self-employed farmer. Tony was a member of the Warsaw Church of God, of Warsaw, Indiana. He was an avid model railroader and collector of model trains.
Tony leaves a loving family including his wife Rose Zartman of Leesburg, Indiana; parents Gene and Sandra Zartman of Leesburg, Indiana; a daughter Alaina Zink of Plant City, Florida; a sister Kim Zartman of Warsaw, Indiana and grandparents Grace Randall and Devon Smith both of Warsaw, Indiana.
Services will be officiated by Pastor Jerry Yoder of the Warsaw Church of God.

Faye was born to Edgar and Wilma (Gall) Shoemaker. She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County.

Noble Hedington on January 13, 1931 in Kosciusko County. He preceded her in death on October 20, 1998.
She worked for Playtime and Bluebell and was a member of North Winona Church of the Brethren.

and several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
She is also preceded in death by a Son, John Lee in 1952.
