Melvin Miller, Jr.
Melvin Miller, Jr., 55, of Pierceton, Indiana, died on 2/28/2010 at 8:21 am at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He was born on August 30, 1954 in Martin, Kentucky.
Melvin was born to Melvin and Thelma (Stephens) Miller.
He was united in marriage to Alicia J. Yates.
Melvin was employed by Gripco, Inc. of South Whitley, IN for 16 years. He retired September 23, 2009 from Zimmer, Inc. after 23 years of employment. He served as senior supervisor at Plant 19 in the Instrument Cell Department.
He loved riding horses, the outdoor life and coon hunting. A notable achievement of Melvin's was riding a horse from South Whitley, Indiana to Prestonsburg, Kentucky, a distance of some 410 miles. He was ordained into ministry at Victory Rock Church of Pierceton, Indiana under Pastor Rick Johnson. While at the church, Melvin was active in a missions trip to Guatemala.
Melvin is survived by his loving family including his wife Alicia Miller; a daughter, Cherity (and spouse Jamie) Prater; a son, Jeremy (spouse Christine) Miller; 3 grandsons, Tarren J. Prater, Trevor J. Prater and Hunter W. Miller; 1 granddaughter, Elizabeth A. Miller; 5 sisters including Mrs. Lorenza (Anna Jean) Hurd, Mrs. Larry (Arlene) Sroufe,
Mrs. Ronald (Gloria) Dafforn, Mrs. Larry (Gale) Burkhart, Mrs. Jack (Saundra) Ott; 3 brothers Mr. Charles (fiance Paula Haynes) Miller, Mr. Arthur (fiance Linda Coulter) Miller, Mr. Rick (spouse Kristi) Miller; in addition he was survived by many nephews and nieces. He was preceded by his parents and 1 nephew Tom Miller.
A celebration of life service will be officiated by Pastors William Whitaker and Rick Johnson
Services will be held at Victory Rock Church, Pierceton, Indiana on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 11:00 am. Calling hours will be 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the church on Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Burial will be at Palestine cemetery, Palestine, Indiana.

Victoria Lynn Anderson, 22, of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 3/2/2010 at 5:15 AM at Warsaw, Indiana. She was born on January 12, 1988 in Polk County, Florida.
Victoria Lynn was born to Don and Donna (Story) Anderson.She was employed by various area restaurants and enjoyed the food service industry. She attended Warsaw Community Church.
Victoria is survived by her mother Donna Anderson of Warsaw, Indiana; her father Don (spouse Jan) Anderson of Lakeland, Florida; her step-father Wes Korn of Warsaw, Indiana; her sister Tiffiany (fiance' John Rusher) Page of Warsaw, Indiana; her nieces Annmarie and Brianna Rusher of Warsaw, Indiana and her nephew Johnathon Rusher of Warsaw, Indiana. She was preceded by her grandparents.

Betty Ashton
Betty Ashton, 89, of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 3/3/2010 at 8:15 pm at Mason Healthcare Center, Warsaw, Indiana. She was born on March 9, 1920 in Gillespie, IL.
Betty was born to Robert and Flora (Leach) Bockewitz. She was a Warsaw, IN resident since 1984 and was a former resident of Southgate, MI and Naples, FL. On April 13, 1941 in Hannibal, MO she married
Raymond B "Jiggs" Ashton. Raymond preceded her in death on December 217, 2000. In addition, Betty was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Betty was formerly employed by M.I.T. Radiation Lab where she received a Presidential Citation for her work on radar development during WWII. As a real estate broker she was employed by Ashton Realty of Lincoln Park, MI before retiring in 1984. Also, she was formerly employed by the Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Richardson in Albendorf, AL.
She attended the Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Warsaw, IN. She was a member of the following organizations; Eastern Star of Springfield, IL, the Board of Directors for the Board of Realtors of Lincoln, MI. and the South Gate Beautification Committee for South Gate, MI.
Betty is survived by 2 sons Steven B. (wife Sonya) Ashton of Warsaw, IN and Gregory L. Ashton of North Carolina. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Reverend Vaughn Beeman will officiate the service at Camp Butler.

Fred S. Potter, 85, of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 3/3/2010 at 4:30 pm at Coventry Meadows Nursing Center, Fort Wayne, IN.. He was born on March 25, 1924 in Turtle Creek, PA.
Fred was preceded by his wife Caroline, to whom he was married
for 60 years. He was a veteran of the European Theater in WWII and of the Korean Conflict. Fred received a battlefield commission with the U.S. Army during WWII as a First Lieutenant in the Combat Engineers.He received a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1950.
Fred was a long-time employee at Da-Lite Screen Co. of Warsaw, IN where he served as Vice-President of Manufacturing and, earlier, as Chief Engineer. His prior employment was with Sun Metal Company and Arnold Corp. both of Warsaw, IN..
Fred was an Eagle Scout, a member of the Masonic Order, Warsaw American Legion Post #49 and Kiwanis
International of Warsaw. In the latter, he served as president. Also, he served for several years as an Assistant Scoutmaster to American Legion Troop 775, Boy Scouts of America.
Fred is survived by his daughters, Andrea Pink of Oaklawn, IL and Laura Michael of Fort Wayne, IN, and his son Lieutenant Colonel Jonathon Potter of Charlottesville, VA.. Fred is also survived by 2 brothers Herbert Potter of Rockford, IL and Lesile Potter of Goldsboro, PA and 5 grandchildren Stephanie, Kaitlyn, Danielle, Matthew and Andrew.
Pastor Toni Carmer of the First Methodist Church of Warsaw will officiate the funeral services. A military honors, at Oakwood cemetery, will be provided by the VFW Post #1126 and the Warsaw American Legion Post #49

Mary Lois Bundy, 87, of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 3/4/2010 at 1:10 am at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, IN. She was born on March 17, 1922 in Grant County, IN.
Mary was born to Ivan R. and Olive (Shugart) Fields. Formerly of Gas City, IN she moved to Warsaw, IN in 1982 and wintered in Edinburg, TX.
She was united in marriage on June 28, 1946 in Grant County, IN to John A Bundy who preceded her in 1999.
Mary was formerly employed by the Marion Veterans Administration Hospital and retired in 1982. She attended Warsaw Community Church of Warsaw, In and Packerton United Methodist Church of Packerton, IN. Mary graduated from Fairmont High School in the Class of 1940.
Mary is survived by her loving family including son John I. Bundy of Anderson, IN; daughter Mary Olive Christie of Warsaw, IN; sister Joan Mounts of Gas City, IN; grandchildren Aaron Bundy of Indianapolis, IN; Sarah Kinder of Warsaw, IN;

Elinor "Joan" Dobbins
Elinor "Joan" Dobbins, 84, of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 3/5/2010 at 12:50 pm at Kosciusko Community Hospital Warsaw, Indiana. She was born on January 30, 1926 in Warsaw, Indiana.
Joan was born to Lloyd O. Yates and Delta Dot (Jefferies) Yates. She was a graduate of Leesburg High School. Her first job was working for the Winona Lake Railroad and later at the county clerk’s office. Over her lifetime she was a Red Cross Gray Lady and she sang in the County Women’s Chorus. She was a member of the Warsaw First Brethren Church where she had been a Sunday School teacher, VBS teacher, in charge of the church nursery, member of WMS and sang in the choir.
She is survived by one son Mike Dobbins and his life partner Daryl Keith. She was preceded in death by her sister Betty Ellen Schaulis.
