He was born May 30, 1963 in Benton Harbor, MI to Robert S. and Alice (Shaffer) Jannings. He was employed in the meat department at Wal-Mart, Columbia City, IN. He is survived by his mother, Alice Jannings, Fort Wayne, IN, one brother, Shawn Jannings, Greencastle, IN and one sister, Mrs. Ernest (Shannon) Mack, Fort Wayne, IN. Edna E. Floor, 88, Akron, IN died at 7: 15 a.m. March 2, 2006 in Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake, IN. She was born August 21, 1917 in Floyd County, KY to Greeley and Lizzie (Caudill) Hackworth. On February 3, 1939 she married
Bennie Harmon. He died November 19, 1968. On November 12, 1975 she married
Earl Floor. He survives. Also surviving are one son, Harold Harmon, Williamstown, NJ and one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Lois) Scott, Leesburg, IN. Two brothers, Earl Hackworth and Earnest Hackworth, both of Ada, OH. One sister, Alta Mae Hackworth, Wooster, OH. 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 step-sons and 4 step-daughters also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. She retired from Singer Controls, North Manchester, IN after 15 years and attended the Rose Hill United Baptist Church, Wabash County, IN. SERVICES; MONDAY, MARCH 6, 2006 AT 2: 00 P.M. Harvey L. Omstead, 73, Claypool, IN died March 2, 2006 at 3: 13 a.m. in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, IN. He was born in Nyack, NY on February 16, 1933 to Dr. Trevalyn W. and Katherine (Benson) Omstead. On April 2, 1984 he married
Mary Kay Alexander. She survives. He graduated from Huntington, (IN) High School and Ball State University. Received his Masters Degree in Education from Bowie State University in Maryland, and an advanced degree in education (Doctor of Arts) from John Hopkins University. A teacher, he taught in the Baltimore, MD school system for 20 years, teaching from kindergarten to graduate school. He taught computer science at Indiana Institute of Technology, Ft. Wayne, IN from 1982-86. He also held teaching positions at Huntington College, Huntington, IN and Ivy Tech State College, Wabash, IN where he was a reading specialist. He was the Environmental Sanitarian for Wabash County, IN from 1991-2003. He served in the US Army from 1954-56. Also surviving are three step sons; Matthew L. (Angie) Alexander, Silver Lake, IN / Gregory (Joie) Souder, Markle, IN / Jeffrey (Becky) Souder, Warren, IN. One step daughter, Rhonda (Bob) Bolner, Columbus, IN and 7 step grandchildren and one step great-grandchild. One brother, Drake Omstead, Warsaw, IN also survives. Hayden R. Renz, 92, Bippus, IN died at 12: 17 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2006 in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. He was born in Huntington County, IN on November 15, 1913 to Peter & Nellie (Howenstine) Renz. He was a farmer and a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Wabash Co., IN. He graduated from Bippus High School class of 1933 and was a former member of the Bippus Lion's Club. In the late 1990's he and his wife, Mary, were Grand Marshalls of the Bippus Days. On January 30, 1937 he married
Mary G. Knowlton. She died February 3, 2006. Surviving are two sons, James (Linda) Renz and John (Carolyn) Renz both of North Manchester, IN and one daughter, C. Jane(John Phillips) Snell, Courtland, NY, eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. One son, Wilbur Hayden Renz, died in 1939. He was a timber buyer for 65 years. Surviving are one son, Gary G. (Diana) Grossnickle, Winona Lake, IN and one granddaughter, Kari M. Grossnickle, Winona Lake, IN. Dean A. Flenar, 79, North Manchester, IN died Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at 6: 35 p.m. in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. He was born July 2, 1926 in Mentone, IN to Charlie & Lola (Eiler) Flenar, both deceased. He married
Anne Wilhelm on June 3, 1984. She survives. He was a graduate of Warsaw High School class of 1944. After high school he served in the U.S. Army 87th Infantry Division in the Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns and later with the U.S. Far East Air Force in the occupation of Japan. He received the Bronze Star Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Occupation of Japan Medal and two Bronze Campaign Service Stars. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 286, North Manchester, IN and a life member of the VFW post 3846, Churubusco, IN. He retired from General Tire, Wabash, IN after 33 years of service. He was member of Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester, IN. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Greg (Jolene) Flenar, Kettering, OH and Dr. Rex (Carla) Flenar, Ft. Wayne, IN, one daughter, Cindy (Mark) Hall, St. Cloud, FL, one step son, Michael Wilhelm, Peru, IN and two step daughters, Patty Rhoades, South Whitley, IN and Nancy Dunn, Kokomo, IN. He is also survived by one brother, Dale (Bertie) Flenar, Warsaw, IN and one sister, Mary (Paul) Grandstaff, North Manchester, IN, six grandchildren, six step grandchildren and one step great grandchild. Phil L. Enyeart. He survives. A homemaker, she also was secretary to Orville Sherman at Timbercrest Church of the Brethren Home, North Manchester, IN for 4 years and later worked with Midwestern United Life Insurance Co., Fort Wayne, IN for 17 years. She was a 1947 graduate of Laketon High School and member of the North Manchester United Methodist Church. Also surviving are two daughters, Pam Enyeart, Spring Grove, IL and Mrs. Tom (Rita) Deininger, Fort Wayne, IN and three grandchildren. Her parents and two brothers preceded her in death. Services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 10: 30 a.m. in North Manchester United Methodist Church. Mary Inderlied will officiate. Mr. Davis was Grocery manager for Kroger Co. retiring after 29 years. Later he worked for Snyder's and Lance's Supermarkets at North Manchester, IN and Shepherd's Chevrolet-Cadillac, North Manchester, IN. He was a member of the North Manchester Kiwanis Club. He served as a member on the North Manchester Town Council for 20 years and served on the traffic commission and advisor to the Peabody Retirement Community Board. He was a former member of the Parks and Recreation Board. On February 2, 1952 he married
Barbara Bowser. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Steve (Mary) Davis, Evansville, IN, two daughters, Linda (Bruce Braden) Davis, Carmel, IN, and Sharee (Steve) Leist, Edwardsburg, MI, two brothers, David Davis, Albion, IN and John Davis, Rushville, IN, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Phyllis) Purdy, and Mrs. William (Anita) Snep both of North Manchester, IN, three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Loretta) Owens, North Manchester, IN, Thelma Brown and Marjorie Taylor, both of Florida, five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
